    As a Kanaka Maoli. It's sad a person passed 😞. Residents and tourists need to be more careful. ALL pillbox hikes were NOT intended as a trail in the first place. Rest in peace 🙏

    Beautiful view at the pill box in Lanikai. It's a lot higher than 40 ft. Sad story 🙁 R.I.P. Hiker and my condolences to the family.

    Bring a compass that probably 80% of people don’t even know how to use if your phone dies

    I wonder if he had a heart attack and then fell down the cliff.

    It gets very hot . I have done this hiking many times for years
    But in my last hike a month ago, I got dizzy .I stopped on the side and turned back. It’s not worth it to jeopardize my life . So sad this happen on a special day My prayers go to his family

    The amount of times I had to guide people along Lulumahu is unbelievable. The worse was a group of children falling their adult chaperones… they took the worse route and I had to help each and every child come over to the other side (the proper route). This is why I don’t do Lulumahu anymore… it’s gotten too crowded.

    How you get lost while hiking on Oahu!? Just walk 30 mins one way and you’ll find your way out. Pay attention to landmarks, and the sun. You’ll eventually see or hear familiar things, noises (road noise).

    60 years old should take things slower. No mention of his physical condition.

      @barbie6695 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Any age could fall off the cliff. It's usually younger than 60. One shouldn't have to take things slow because they're 60, unless they feel they need to. He was on a hike, not running a marathon.

    If you are going to be hiking…. Make sure you take water with you and prepare yourself before the hike. These hikes are not easy! People need to know their physical health before doing these difficult hikes.
    Sorry for your lost 😞

      Nah, sometimes stuff just happens. A non-trivial number of people die by falling down the basement stairs on their way to check the laundry. If you choose to go walking around, I can pretty much guarantee you're gonna trip and fall at some point. Hopefully you're not on a mountain ridge when it happens.
