I am disappointed in all the negative comments about this man's generosity. Sure he gave less than others have in these episodes, but none of know his mindset or his intentions. He mentioned in the first part of the episode that he was driven by insecurity, I think that is tremendous insight for a person in his position. Sure there is a lot he doesn't understand, but I give the man props and respect for making the effort. I have, unfortunately, not walked in his shoes, so I don't know his mind, but the fact that he made the effort to make a difference is something to applaud, not denigrate. He also said that his intention was to do more than just inject financial support into these programs and planned to do more. I think it's a very personal journey.

After reading through many of the comments on this episode - all pretty much saying the same thing - I felt compelled to comment. Yes - he may well have been able to give more, but it may serve us to remember that it's the beginning - not the end!
It's important to have an overview of Mo's initial experiences and understand how he came to be the way he did. He was brutally and courageously honest when he was asked "What drives you?" He answered "Insecurity". That told me so much about this man ... and you can see how emotionally stunted he is throughout the show. I think that's precisely why he feels to say he's a multi-millionaire. It's really not about him impressing others - I believe he's reassuring himself.
He is also equally brutally honest about how he avoided his culture ... as a child, it was a matter of survival for him to reject his own & assimilate into another culture. Remember - this was his perspective as a young boy & obviously those painful memories imprinted themselves quite heavily.
He is beginning to heal those experiences throughout the show & is man enough to admit that he was under several misconceptions. This man made a change in his life, and he has also changed other's lives. It doesn't mean his giving will stop here ... perhaps it's something he will get much more involved in as he heals his own insecurities. I love all the episodes, but this one was particularly interesting to me. Just as Mo realised that he needs to view positively how he could help instead of reasons he shouldn't, perhaps we could do the same & not judge him for the giving of his own wealth. Besides, anyone else here have 50K+ to give away? No? Then perhaps we need to do as Scaba suggested & mind our manners!

I've always said the idea of the reveal having the SM's come back in $300.00 suits is simply a bad idea on the part of the production company. Also, stating to poor people that you're a multi-millionaire and then giving a few thousand looks really bad. Obviously giving anything is a help. I just has the look of a baron tossing some crumbs to the lesser peasants.

Reading the comments it amazes me what people see as greed because someone is rich. He's under no obligation to donate a massive amount. It's pointless a millionaire donating £25k to a Business if they can't use it. Injecting a large amount of money into a Business can potentially cause it financial problems as giving it too little, because they have no idea how to use the money usefully.
He may have pulled up an aribtrary number, or came up with a calculation which suits the amount people need
People become rich by using their money smartly, whether he donates £1k or £100k it's still a donation. The show is about millionaires finding people they can help
There's nothign stopping millionaires donating small amounts, then continuing to support them after the show if they wanted. Everyone is complaining about he only donated £5k and £14k maximum. It's his choice end of the day. Stop feeling like he's greedy and ungrateful because it seemed a little amount to yourselves. Consider he did a good bit of philantrhopy to cause change

@@joecolwell938 My my ... I think you may have just insulted your own intelligence by being unable to find alternative words other than "twat", "prat" and "idiot" to express yourself. You obviously were not paying attention ... Mo's business is VALUED at nearly GBP60M, which DOES NOT MEAN he has GBP60M in the bank. How ludicrous! He drives a Bentley & likely has other cars, and also has a beautiful manor home, public school expenses for his three children and other high-end living expenses. It's also highly probable that there is still a mortgage/lease on the property. Given the aforementioned factors, I would gauge he may have approx. GBP3M liquidity - if that - in the bank, and the remainder of his wealth is paper wealth or tied up into other ventures/investments. Now, let's take the generous GBP3M liquidity ... at your rate of .54% AER (that's point 54 - just to be clear), what does that work out to? Hmmmm? Oh, that would be GBP16,200/- PER ANNUM interest - much less than what he gave away. We no longer live in times where the interest rate is 6 - 7% compounded, and I do remember those times! Now you may get off your high donkey whilst I state how I can be pretty sure my contentions are correct: I trained as a lawyer, and am now a Chartered Accountant/Certified Public Accountant running my own firm, which was established in 1969. I deal with hundreds of UHNW clients (that's Ultra High Net Worth, to save you from looking it up), so I do believe I am qualified to respond to your vitriol (you may want to look that up). All that being said, if you actually know of a bank that offers your chosen figure of 0.54% interest PER DAY (as you stated in your initial comment), please do enlighten us! I'm sure we would all like to benefit. If not, please take a seat & stop embarrassing yourself. You, sir, are a dunce. And the next time you decide to go off half-cocked and spew aggression at a commenter, consider carefully that you may be setting YOURSELF up to look like a "twat", "prat" and/or "idiot".

Shannon Doll I wish they stayed a longer time in the communities. They would understand it in time. They don't feel the pressure of poverty and how over time it grinds you down. Was easier years ago because UK had better social mobility. Interesting. Seems a nice man to me. Forgiving. What the radio caller said to him was difficult and he still went back and helped them. Just a cautious and measured person not disingenuous or not generous. Tough crowd ha!

Well said, not saying that it doesn't help but giving a few thousand is like a regular person giving loose change, too many people here saying people don't help, look at the amount raised by Captain Tom for the NHS, ordinary people are charitable in my humble opinion.

Wow...what an arrogant, self-absorbed man! He's cocky in attitude, and even struts when he walks, with an air of "self-importance. It's apparent that he thinks his a lot better than those around him. With that kind of demeanor, I'm not sure going to a run down place full of people that he obviously worked very hard to get away from in another country, to "reconnect" was the most intelligent thing to do....and to constantly compare those with whom he meets to himself, and his OWN life journey and accomplishments, isn't fair. This was so painful, and irritating to watch. When one considers how wealthy he is, he certainly wasn't very generous with some of those people. This man is worth...what was it....40 or 60 million and he only gave a total of about 29000.00... that was disappointing! With the economics the way they are in the last decade, the little bit he gave will most likely only help a little bit. I guess a little bit is better than nothing at all, though.

The problem is with you you need to mentor these people or hire people to mentor these people into being organized rather than looking down on them because they don’t know how to do it and you figured it out on your own not everyone is smart
