He not only gave €40,000 but he got fully invested in these charities and fundraised for them in NYC raising $75k for the boxing club, convinced the local council to give a suitable house to the couple in wheelchairs, kept in touch with the little boy who wants to be a singer and is now a part of the community. Possibly the best episode ever, John makes me proud to be Irish👏

I worked alongside John and his brother Paul in my very first job at his father's hotel, Fitzpatrick's Castle Hotel in Killiney, Dublin back in 1980. He was a bit of a prankster then, but a nice guy. I was made redundant after only three months but that was the beginning of the recession and I don't hold that against them. Good to see that he has given back to the community. There has been a climate in Ireland for some time of successful businessmen and businesswomen giving back to the community and it is nice to see. Wishing him and all the communities he has been able to help all the best for the future.
To me , this was one of the best Secret Millionaire shows of all. It was not fake at all and the follow up showing the involvement and progress really makes a difference in how I feel about Mr. Fitzpatrick. A true hero in my books. A one in a million precious gem never to be forgotten. Just awesome.

To me, the most profound part that came out of Mr Fitzpatrick's experience was what it did to him on soo many levels! He might not be married, but you can see the whole town is his family now.
When it ended I was surprised as I thought he’d help out the elderly both in wheelchairs. Then I realised it hadn’t ended at all. Helping the 2 in wheelchairs went past my expectations, that was fantastic what he help put into place. And the boxing snd their extended plans. I bet he still pops over and keeps in touch even when everything is finally fished. I’m hoping he stays part of their lives and community. A wonderful man who I hope is still part of their lives, even if it’s only a phone call. But secretly I hope he visits them all as he got so involved for long term projects. So heartwarming to watch the very end 😊

I see in some comments that there are those who think he did not give enough, but he did not just hand them a check & walk away for good. He has remained extremely involved giving of his time as well as making sure they have the resources needed to continue. To date, he has raised well over 500 million dollars to help various charities & people.
Some people will not be happy even if He gave them e100K. Nothing is good enough for some. He did a lot more just by showing interest and encouragement to the people volunteering for the less privileged. Being involved as a volunteer is hard to explain until you get in there and help out. Feeling is great. Instead for some to winge, why not join a group and help someone who needs it.

I admire a man at this level who is willing to outside his comfort level and work to help others. Many advantages come with birth and many do not- I know what it means to grow up disadvantaged and still put myself through college. I strongly believe in giving back/paying it forward. Im glad i watched to the end, I was thinking he was pretty cheap for a millionaire, He redeemed himself. Thank you for all the help you gave. The one that got me the most was how he could walk away from that poor old couple with no bed.
I t is so inspiring to see how people can go out off their way to make others happy or comfortable. This is not because they have loads of money,.they are just good people who care. I thank God for all of them. I hope and pray that I can be able to do the same even in a very small way.

i think this guy has the biggest heart of them all. To know he did and follow up and especially placed the disabled couple in such a spacious place built just for them made me so happy for them. To know shed be able to actually sleep in a real bed after 5 years was the best for me. To know he cared enough about the youth to put so much back into their efforts was awesome. Did he ever show the outcomes of his efforts This is four years ago. It is now 2017 Thanks so much for the golden heart you have.
