Millionaire businessman, Richard Mulcahy went undercover in Limerick recently and among the organisations and communities visited, Cliona's Foundation was profiled. Richard met with the founders who have turned the unimaginable tragedy of losing a loved one, into a lifeline for others.
This Secret Millionaire programme was broadcast on RTE 1 on Monday September 24th.
You know what? To me, this may have to be the best episode. It really isn't about gifting money. It's actually making the difference, by gifting what they actually need. Which is worth a lot more physically and mentally.

Sarah is very alert and just has trouble getting her words out. Sad and beautiful story at the same time. The stories with the children still bring tears and smiles. Emotions are all over the place.
it's not always about splashing the cash. It's about understanding people's need and acting accordingly. You've made some extremely thoughtful and caring decisions. Loved it

Awesome saving 10 years for a simple Bus for the town. He walks in and just gives them a brand new Beautiful Bus. That is Very Cool.
Those 2 girls handing out soup and meals on the street are amazing, truly angels of mercy. I was hoping Richard would donate a bus, and sure enough he came up with one!
This man understands what it means to live a productive life. Once your income exceeds your need, you have the opportunity to change the world. You don't have to be a millionaire to do this.

when she said a bus was 40-50, 000 I thought "oh, too bad it is so expensive. There is no way he could buy them a bus" and darn if he didn't fool me and bought the bus. What a kind man. A man after my own heart, I've planner thousands of trees on my prop as well, fruit, nut, acorn & pine. Some of them are benifiting wildlife, some are producing acorns/seeds I'm planting and sprouting to plant. The best time to plant a seedling is 20 years ago, the 2nd best time to plant 1 is today. The lumber will help create jobs and build homes and keep families safe & warm later. Along the way it will help animals, and it's beautiful to look at in the spring, summer & fall. I've tried to help others as much as I possibly could. I hope I did the right thing.

Richard's gifts were very thoughtful and he was generous beyond this week in giving his time and expertise to raise money for one of the foundations. Very inspiring!

I’m a mother of a child with special needs and not a truer statement has ever been made. My source of pain as well as joy is in the little things so many take for granted, like a playground for instance. I’ve wished on a thousand stars to give my daughter a place to play that is safe and awesome. One day! Brilliant quote.

Rose Geaber We do not have a GoFundMe. I’ve never thought to do something like that for Hazel because I feel like the things we would be asking for are ‘extras’ and there are many who are in need of basic essentials. Hazel just turned 4 years old on August 31 - if you have an Instagram, you can see her there “HGR0831” is my handle. She works so hard but covid has really put a halt on her progress as far as therapy is concerned. Thankfully, we are back at it and she’s making strides towards regaining the skills she lost during the shutdown.

I wish something such as this would happen in America in these horrible days. So much drugs. So much killing. In my city the last few years the violence is so prevelent you're not safe even in the daylight. Even though these are old videos, it could be the beginnings of a new beginning.
