Maruia Falls New Zealand 2024

Hi and welcome to todays short walk to view the impressive Maruia Falls that are located in Shenandoah in the Murchison area approximately 22kms south west of Murchison along State Highway 65.
The Maruia Falls trail is a simple easy trail that leads from the car park down to the river yo gain a spectacular up close view of the falls note the river isn't suitable for swimming due to the fast flown currents.
The Maruia Falls were created during the 1929 Murchison earthquake that was a magnitude 7.3 and struck at 10:17 am on the 17th June 1929 and caused a landslide that had blocked the original river channel and created the spectacular Maruia Falls.

hi again, loved the video, we went through Murchison on our last trip but were on a tight time frame, this is one that's going on the bucket list for our next trip. love the way you make the video so informative, shows an easy path to the falls and how to get there, looking forward to watching more, Happy Aussie.

Yess definitely the waterfall is a must visit and one of the most easiest accessible waterfalls with a short walk.
