This was one of the most angering things to happen when I used to work in an airport. People would look on the website, see their flight was delayed and then decide to turn up late, but the check in times didn’t change so when they turned up late they couldn’t board the flight. These passengers shouldn’t have been able to get a flight that night because they knowingly tried to go against the airport rules by storming past the check in counter, today they’d be arrested or at least banned from flying for the night because you can’t allow anyone to fly if they kick off like this.

If they tried to breach security, I think they should have been banned from flying for a set time period. You'd get banned from driving for offences of the same severity, take their flying privileges for a few months.

If every plane waited for delayed flights it would worse chaos than before. I was bounced from a flight in NZ as ours was delayed. It was boarding but our bags had been unloaded, not transferred.
