If more passengers are checked in afterwards, they have to start the calculations afresh. There just isn’t time, especially 12 minutes before it leaves.

@minzygreen1167 1. Exclamation marks are covered by the rules of the English language... They are literally called "exclamation marks"... 2. The passenger in the video missed his flight because he was late checking in... I have flown with multiple airlines in different classes, and no commercial airline allows passengers to miss the check-in time, (no matter if the ticket was £20 or £2,000).
Once the captain closes out the flight, he has to calculate a final weight and balance of the aircraft, request both a departure time for airport taxi and takeoff, but also an air traffic control route to his destination. These are usually scheduled for each flight based on an agreed to push-back time for each flight. If the captain puts additional passengers on after he has closed out the flight, he has to calculate a new aircraft weight and balance, request a new taxi and departure slot, and a new air traffic control route to the destination. That could easily delay the flight for hours and cost the airline hundreds of thousands of dollars with other flights when the same aircraft is late for other flights it was scheduled to operate.

I would turn up 6 hours before hand if it was that important business meeting. If the contract was so vital then why didn't he show up extra 12 hours and camp at the boarding gate just to be sure he can board
@ it’s obvious that you missed my point. The point was that if your travel was very important then it equally important to be early just in case something happens and you need to deal with it.
No big deal hopefully if it’s a frequent route just take the next flight ✈️ out. Good rule of thumb is be at the airport 90 minutes before departure minimum, even more if you have a lot of checked bags. There’s no way to know how long check in and security lines are.
And the fact that he wanted the airline staff to call the people he needed to sign the contract with and say it was her fault. If I was the other business, I wouldn't be impressed with him and probably wouldn't bother signing the contract with him. If it's that important, he should have left the day before.
I'm so frightened of reaching the airport late that I always start 2 hours early, just in case there's traffic congestion or I get lost on the way to the gate. When you're early, you have the luxury of strolling around, using the bathroom to take a shower, and enjoying a relaxed cup of coffee while waiting for the boarding call.
Never have business dealings with a person who can't keep timing. He think he's entitled to his profession. What do these people think? Is it a taxi service for them to come in any time they want. Airlines have minimum 2 hours, check in time, if you think your business is very important, you would have left early.

Good job Sarah 👍
I know this is quite old but nowadays you can check in online before you arrive at airport and you could cut the time closer than you could before but it’s still risky of course
If security was quiet and his gate wasn’t far he might of been able to make now
Yes, he made it hard on himself, but with 12 minutes to go, boarding would probably have been closed. The other thing that got me is that he decided to go straight to boarding but he wouldn't have a boarding pass, so there's no way he would have got on the plane.
I know when I went to Corfu in May 2001, my flight was due to leave at 00:05am on the 8th May. Me, my sister and my friend got to the airport just before 10pm.
I was 28 days early for my flight. I'd booked the wrong month! They let me board though!
Controversially, I'm with Swiss Business Guy as I too can't understand why easyJet would close the chicken either? 🐔
ethzero i know what you mean
I would turn up 6 hours before hand if it was that important business meeting. If the contract was so vital then why didn't he show up extra 12 hours and camp at the boarding gate just to be sure he can board
Billy_The-Goat do not be silly
@ it’s obvious that you missed my point. The point was that if your travel was very important then it equally important to be early just in case something happens and you need to deal with it.
No big deal hopefully if it’s a frequent route just take the next flight ✈️ out. Good rule of thumb is be at the airport 90 minutes before departure minimum, even more if you have a lot of checked bags. There’s no way to know how long check in and security lines are.
I couldnt do this job
You have to stand your ground with passengers and you will get threatend alot
well done sarah
Maybe next time he should book a private jet. They'll depart on his schedule, most of the time
Such an important businessman that he's using Easyjet!
I business travel and am always at the check in at least an hour ahead of departure.
Well done Miss, but you should have stuck with "I am not making the call"
I thought swiss people had a reputation for being punctual.
horseandcart theres swiss and theirs swiss
Pretty red Swiss passport.
Still doesn't give him a late pass.
I love Sarah!
Once the Chicken has closed as supposed to check in
"I am not speaking to you any more". That works for most situations. Then say no more. He can stand there, and she can finish her paperwork.
Doesn’t say a lot for his management skills if he can’t turn up on time 🙄
And the fact that he wanted the airline staff to call the people he needed to sign the contract with and say it was her fault. If I was the other business, I wouldn't be impressed with him and probably wouldn't bother signing the contract with him. If it's that important, he should have left the day before.
You have to get there early at least with checked bags because they need time to load it
Fab, important business deal, turns up late and flies with a cheap airline
Am SOOOO happy Sarah stood her ground and upheld policy!
How difficult is it to get to the airport early? ✈🛩
appearently for some people it's very difficult lol
Some people obviously think they're so important, the airline will hold up the flight for them.
No excuse. The airport does not revolve around one narcissist's poor planning
When I have a business meeting, I turn up ridiculously early.
Bring this show back
“Businessman” 😂😂
Never have business dealings with a person who can't keep timing. He think he's entitled to his profession. What do these people think? Is it a taxi service for them to come in any time they want. Airlines have minimum 2 hours, check in time, if you think your business is very important, you would have left early.
Get to the airport early. Simple!
They renamed the terminal after John Lennon because as soon as the Beatles made enough money he left the City behind despite being held like some kind of deity there.
Oh no the chicken has closed😆😆😆
God bless you !❤
What happened to Swiss accuracy
This is why some people need to learn anger management
You were too late, sir. Which one of those big words exceeds your capacity to grasp..?
It’s the small word he seems to not understand, the word being “No”
And I thought I had to deal with a lot of assholes at work, but DAMN!
Yaaasss Sarah! 🙌💪
