    Although Capital One doesn't have domestic transfer partners, you can still book domestic airlines using airline alliances. Delta belongs to Skyteam, so you could transfer to Air France/KLM, and book a Delta flight through them, you can use Turkish to book United, and British Airways to book American.
    Granted, redemptions can be hit or miss with these, and availability may not be there, but it is possible, sometimes for a much lower price. My wife and I just went to Hawaii using Turkish Airlines and United. It only cost us 15k Turkish Airlines miles for a roundtrip. I think for United, it was 25k one way

      Turkish is incredible to use for domestic United flights. A one-way domestic economy flight costs 10k miles, whether it’s as short as IAD-PHL or as long as EWR-HNL (domestic business class only costs 15k miles, but availability is VERY hard to come by).

    Odd compliment, but I like the pace at which you speak. Many other TH-camrs talk a little too fast, and that affects my understanding sometimes.

    I think the biggest thing with miles is you have to be insanely flexible to use them. You can't plan a vacation and have 150k points sitting and expect to use them on that specific date. If you want to use points for flights, then your trip will be dictated by the points rather than by your dates. I learned that over multiple trips where we had specific date ranges we had to travel and there were no award seats ever available for those routes on those dates on ANY of the partners they have. So while in theory it's nice to have them, it's also very hard to use them on international long-haul trips and we've started using them on the cheaper short haul flights around the US which has still saved us a ton of money. For example we took a trip on Delta with 30k Virgin Atlantic points which is equal to $300 cashback but the flight roundtrip on Delta was $850, or 80,000 Delta miles. In the end we came out way ahead and that negated our annual fee just from that trip alone. And the reward seats were available months and months out because it was a domestic short haul flight.

      agreed!
      for those including myself who has 2 kids in school, there are only specific days we can go and typically those days are on the the High-Season.
      What you need to do, you have to book FAR FAR FAR FAAAAAR in advance. To do this, I need to collect both of my kids calendar, my calendar and my wife's calendar and see where we can match up. Those days, I use seats.aero or other sites to find award availability.
      Those times where a youtuber drops, "ONLY 25K business class r/t" sometimes those are on the low-season / only 2 seats left, and there's NO WAY I can book that. I see that as a click-bait. I don't click on those titles anymore.
      NOW!! Business class. Sometimes Airlines such as British Airways only release 2 (TWO!!!) award seats and that's it. I always want my family to be on the same business class seating area and it is REALLY HARD! so always check daily and be on a lookout for drops of more seats.
      There are times I'm just like.. F-it! I pay full award seating such as 250K R/T LAXNRT since there are really no deals around. (still need to book in advance for this not as good of a redemption)
      one PSA, Venture X's travel portal "Hopper", when you use to book hotel for more than 1 person, make sure you call the hotel as well to double check if it is correct. Sometimes hopper does not transfer that info to the hotel.
      Regarding Venture X's Priority pass, Venture x PP is less useful compared to PP from Amex Platinum or Chase SR.

      @@TheRDGuarantee, I really want to get on flights with JetBlue. Capital One does not transfer to them. It was either the Chase Trifecta or Citi. I'll use Citi as my primary cards, which covers almost all my essentials. Capital One is more travel friendly, however, which I will miss out on early on.

    @User-dh4xj 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Since the Venture and the Venture X cards have the same welcome bonus for the same minimum spend, would you recommend getting the Venture card before the Venture X card, and then upgrading it after the Venture card’s first anniversary?

    • @TheRDGuarantee
      @TheRDGuarantee  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Great question, and yes you could do that.
      What I might try to do is a variation of that plan though:
      1. get the Venture Rewards card (75,000 SUB)
      2. wait a year, then try to product change it to the $0 AF VentureOne Rewards or Quicksilver Rewards.
      3. apply for the Venture X card (75,000 SUB)
      In this strategy you still end up in the same place, but now have an additional $750 in SUB value which is pretty powerful. Capital One can be pretty unpredictable with their downgrade options though, so you may have to stick with your original plan if they don't offer you any after one year.
      Let me know what you decide to do! 👍🏼

    Excellent and very informative video. I am planning to apply for this Venture X card. So if I get approved and apply for authorized users (wife and daughter), do they need to apply for their own Priority Passes? And their own Global Entry Passes? I understand that there are no fees involved to have authorized users and priority passes but what about for the Global Entry Pass? Is it going to be a $300 credit for the three of us? Many thanks.

    • @TheRDGuarantee
      @TheRDGuarantee  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it! Once you add your wife and daughter as authorized users and get them their cards, they'll apply for their own Priority Passes. Similarly, they'll need to sign up for their own Global Entry passes but unfortunately from my experience, Capital One will only cover $100 TOTAL for this, not for each authorized user. I tried this with my wife when signing up for TSA Precheck which cost $78 for each of us and Capital One only covered one of the purchases. I hope you have some better luck than I did!
      P.s. When you go to apply, if you feel like supporting the channel, it would be greatly appreciated if you used the following link. No pressure either way!

      Access it or get the card in the mail?
      I can only speak from personal experience, but I was able to access mine about 3-4 days after receiving the VX in the mail. I would contact C1 customer support if you still can't connect your Capital One account to Priority Pass.

      I meant I have not been able to enroll into priority pass despite having gotten the card 10 days ago.
