How is it GROWING? Our Papaya's are FULL of FRUIT after 2 Years in Phoenix, AZ!

Welcome back to The Green Yard! It has been a beautiful spring in Phoenix and all of our fruiting and flowering trees and plants are enjoying the wonderful weather. It has been almost exactly two years since I put out our Planting a Papaya Video, • Planting a Papaya Tree... . It is amazing to see how big our Papaya’s have gotten in only two years. They truly love the microclimates we have set up in The Green Yard and I can’t wait to put out a Harvest video in May. We have our Papaya’s planted in 3 different areas in The Green Yard, two in the Food Forest and the other in our side yard with our Mango’s and Sapote’s. In this video, I go through all three microclimates and the benefits and drawbacks to each one. From my experience, the best microclimate for our Papaya’s is one that is close to the house and gets mid-day sun from 11-3. All our Papaya’s get consistent amendments in terms of agricultural sulfur and fish emulsion. I would say that Papaya’s are one of the easiest tropical trees to grow here in Phoenix, they seem to like a little bit more of our summer sun and they do not require any cold protection.
