      @@Lmonhaze Hahaha, no. Raimi Spider-Man is probably the most overrated adaptation in comic books of all time. The first two films are carried by the two antagonists, and they had the best and only good performances in those films: Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and JK Simmons. That's it, everyone else had terrible and cringe-acting, the relationship with MJ was the worst written we have gotten, and the whole trilogy is full of plot holes, especially the third one. Peter didn’t got bitten at 15 years old, he didn’t made the web fluid or web-shooters, etc., Nolan's trilogy does have some plot holes, and Batman is killing, but outside of that, at least the acting is leagues better, so it's the cinematography, storytelling, etc.

      @@reynaldolorenzo8409 What are you on? Rosemary Harris, James Franco, and Tobey Maguire acted fine. Also, complete comic accuracy is not needed to make a good superhero film. It changes nothing that Peter in this film got bit at 17. Him not making the web fluid is not that big of a deal either. Raimi made it clear that this movie wasn't supposed to be comic-accurate. This a different version of Spider-Man. Besides, he was still Spidey at his core. Making jokes during fights, swinging from buildings, helped innocent people, so what's the issue?

      The scene where he sits in his cell and claps for Gordon being promoted is the only one where I see a little bit of Heath and that scene was one of the first ones to be filmed if I recall correctly. Rest of the movie he's just gone and there's only the Joker.

    • @Skye_Writer
      @Skye_Writer 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The internet was SO nasty before the film when the pics came out of what Joker would look like, and so many people predicting the doom of the picture. None of comic nerd friends were willing to calm down and just wait and see what it would be like. And I admit, I wrinkled up my nose when I saw him, wondering wth they had done to the character. But of all the Batman films out at that time, Nolan's was the most faithful to the source material, even though he wasn't 100% faithful. And I reminded everyone that when we saw pics of Bale before the first movie, we all kind of thought, "Really? THAT'S who they chose to play super-hot, square-jawed, buff Bruce Wayne??" (To my mind, Clooney still played the best BRUCE, though his Batman was written to be campy af so that movie overall was terrible. But on a TV rewatch, I skipped all the Batman parts and just watched him as Bruce, and omg he was PERFECT! Such a shame he got stuck doing a Batman film for a director who wanted to emulate the feel of the 1960s TV show. But I digress...)
      But when we watched Bale as Batman, we were all sold on it, so I reminded my friends to just wait and see. And in the end, Ledger gave us THE most frightening take on the villain who, all things considered, is the scariest one in Batman's Rogues' Gallery. (Batman: No Man's Land if you don't believe me.)

      You CANNOT replace practical effects... the best example is Top Gun Maverick where almost everything is practical with real actors in real fighter jets and you can see the absolute terror in their eyes which would not be there if they were in a studio and planes were CGI... there are 3 seconds of film in one of the training scenes where the plane is actually CGI and you can spot it right away... you can see the difference and your only thought is "this is NOT a real plane"... you CANNOT replace reality with a computer and CGI also make actors perform so much worse cause they're acting without seeing or feeling anything...
      Early 2000s where we had a ton of practical with only a sprinkle of CGI where it was REALLY needed was the sweet spot... everything after that has been downhill all the way to rock bottom where we are now

    Ah, Batman Begins… it often gets overshadowed by its sequel, but it’s my favourite of the Nolan Batman movies (and it has one of THE most stacked casts ever!). This is how you do a reboot - it feels unburdened by what had come before and is not afraid to be its own thing, without relying on endless callbacks and fanservice moments.
    Sure, it borrows a lot from the first Spider-Man, which set the standard for origin movies, and from the first X-Men as well, which showed how a comic book movie could be grounded and grown-up as well as popular, but it still stands on its own merits… and truth be told, after Spider-Man 2 the Marvel movies were running out of steam. They had to reboot their own efforts, and the first Iron Man owes a lot to Batman Begins for the grounding of the world, the focus on the developing of the technology etc etc. What goes around comes around!
    Roll on The Dark Knight!

    I LOVE the relationship between Gordon and Batman in this. I’ve never seen an adaptation that explains why they trust each other so much, and it makes so much sense that Bruce would be so attached to Gordon because he gave him comfort after the worst moment of his life. The ending of this movie is so powerful, with Gordon giving thanks and Batman saying “and you’ll never have to”, knowing who Gordon is to Bruce personally and Gordon having no idea of the impact that he had on Bruce’s life.

    AS I understand it, each "Tumbler" (Batmobile) cost them a million dollars each, and they used several, some of them only partial, and some fully mobile. And the Director insisted on using as much practical as he could, to give it weight and depth. Kudos to the Kid who played Young Bruce Wayne, too. He had to carry alot on his shoulders to give Adult Bruce the feelings to carry on. The Movie is great on its own, and with the second one to follow it up, they really did alot of work to make it seem real and grounded.

    Personally, Keaton is the standard for all Batmen, having been 9 when the first Burton film was released. It was the biggest thing (still) I've seen... Batman merch was everywhere. There were batman impersonators at every mall, grocery store, or major public gathering you went to. And when that iconic all-black logo-only VHS tape came out, it wore out VCRs all around the nation.
    These remakes were pretty good. But always felt like they missed the mark and feel of the universe that Burton demonstrated so very well.
