I too knew nothing about car care... that was until I watched this video series... Here is my story: Eager to put what I had learned into practice, I headed to my nearest Halfords with a spring in my step. I walked out having spent £150 and was by this point questioning my life choices. Having watched a mediocre performance by Manchester United in the Europa league and despite it being dark by this point... I decided to get started. Lesson number 1: don't do this in the dark. Starting at around 10 I began, spray wash down... with a pressure washer? Oh no no my friends. I used a garden pump action sprayer... needless to say I regretted this decision. Lesson number 2: don't use garden equipment on your car. I washed with wash+ using my grit guard... but only 1 bucket (sorry Dale I have failed you!). Did I mention I am doing this all on a Renault Master van? I then clayed the whole van with quick detailer as lubricant, compound... then the heavens opened. Lesson 3: check the weather Short 30 minute break then back to polish, liquid wax, glass clean and internal clean. Took me 6 hours. Didn't have enough microfibre towels. Things got dicey towards the end when I cracked out the household towel (just to pat dry the rain) Van looks shiny but I can't really tell as it's so dark. Regrets.
Only just got round to watching this.... 101 is a greater series, thank you for taking the time to share! I have a DA machine but just purchased the Power System as it will be easier than dragging the machine out as much! Please can you do some videos with a focus on using the Power System? (or have I missed them?) Thank you
Sounds good, we have a couple of them already within our channel, just not in this format. Just search "Ultimate Fast Finish" or"How to Wax your Car in 15 Minutes or less"
I've ever used a repellent agent "a*******". You know what's the result? My windscreen became full of water streak, it's awful during the rain. That's why I'm a bit paranoid in using repellent. Will Meguiars guarantee that the products will NOT give bad effects to the windscreen?
Meguiar’s, I enjoyed the video, certainly instructive and useful for someone who’s a beginner, but I didn’t see the wiper blades cleaned. How would you, and what would you use to clean the wiper blades? And is claying the windshield first recommended, or is that unnecessary? Greeting from America, Northern California.
Not entirely sure what you mean by cleaning the wiper blades? If you mean cleaning the rubber of the blade something like our M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner would work well. If you mean that they are faded and you want to restore the rubbers' black appearance you could certainly use your favorite vinyl and rubber dressing, but keep in mind most of them are water based and if you over apply them and it rains the excess product could run off.
How about Wiper Refills? The rubber Windshield Wiper (as we say in the USA). If the windshield has been caked with dirt, and the windshield wipers have been used, then the rubber is more than likely dirty. Be a shame to thoroughly clean the windshield and have dirty windshield wipers. I was just curious if you advise to take a microfiber towel and wipe clean the rubber. And what about claying the windshield first? Not necessary or recommended?
Yes, if the windshield is very dirty it would be better to clean it first before using the wipers. Again, if you want to clean the rubber wiper blades our M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner would work well for that. You can certainly clay glass but clay is not designed to clean a dirty windshield. You would need to clean the windshield first and then clay. Clay is then going to help remove any bonded (stuck to the surface) contaminants that washing or your glass cleaner did not remove.
Idk if I'm doing something wrong. I've applied the compound exactly as show and wiped off exactly as shown but itbdoesnt seem to be getting rid of the residue/oils that hsve buult up over time from other products which leaves a brief haze after every swipe of the blade. I saw in your 2 minute video of the compound that it removes haze but it doesn't seem to be. Have attempted twice now, is there something I'm potentially missing?
Assuming you mean the glass/windshield on the inside of a vehicle, yes you can as long as it is bare glass and there is no UV tint/film on it. There are not typically many reasons this would be needed on interior versus exterior glass but again that would be fine in theory.
Claying your glass depends on if your glass contains bonded contaminates. So if you have over spray or bonded contaminates it will clean them up nicely.
How long any wax or sealant protects is highly variable and dependent on a number of factors including the condition of the vehicle and especially the environment it is in. That being said we typically recommend you wax at least 3-4 times per year if the vehicle is a daily driver or sees the elements even semi-regularly.
Meguiar's oh~ I mean when applied Perfect Clarity Glass Sealant, after it dry can I use Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner Spray to clean off the dry glass sealant instead of using warm water as shown in the video?
No, during the application process you should use a damp (water) cloth to remove the sealant. If you are referring to days or weeks after you can certainly use the Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner as your maintenance cleaner to keep the glass clean.
You would have to be more specific as to which product you were referring to but how long any protection/wax lasts is highly variable and depends on a number of factors related to the condition of the paint, previous prep, and the environmental elements the vehicle is exposed to.
Can you please clarify your question? Are you asking which product should be used on glass as well as which pad to apply it? As the video shows you would typically apply the Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner with a good microfiber towel. If you are referring to the Glass Compound or Glass Sealant we would recommend the foam applicators included in the kit but you could use another if you do not have the kit.
Really looking forward to using this! Especially on my panoramic roof
I've been looking for something that can remove stubborn water spots. I'll have to give this stuff a shot.

Most of the info would be exactly the same but here is a video from a few years ago about the DA Power System specifically...

What do you clean the wiper blades with ?😮
Works for me.
Name of intro song please it’s so awesome

You can certainly clay glass but clay is not designed to clean a dirty windshield. You would need to clean the windshield first and then clay. Clay is then going to help remove any bonded (stuck to the surface) contaminants that washing or your glass cleaner did not remove.
Will there be a follow up for the glass on the inside?
Don't believe there are plans at least within this style of video, did you have any specific questions we can help with?
For maintenance cleaning, is it safe to use the Glass Cleaner or will it remove the sealant on the glass?
Yes, you can use our glass cleaner for normal maintenance to remove dirt, dust, etc. from the glass.
What about the polishing compound? Would it remove the sealant?
Idk if I'm doing something wrong. I've applied the compound exactly as show and wiped off exactly as shown but itbdoesnt seem to be getting rid of the residue/oils that hsve buult up over time from other products which leaves a brief haze after every swipe of the blade.

Is there a product or other contamination on the windshield wipers that is causing this when turned on and wiped across the glass?
Could you use the compound on the inside of the windscreen

Can we talk about D120 and it’s discoloration of plastic bottles and some leather and vynil?

@@meguiars thank you. Will do.
Should I clay the glass before polishing. Would it help at all? Is it even necessary. Or does it depend on the condition of the glass itself?
Claying your glass depends on if your glass contains bonded contaminates. So if you have over spray or bonded contaminates it will clean them up nicely.
Can I use glass compound and sealant on side windows & side mirrors?
Yes, assuming it is bare glass and there is no tint/film on it.
Can you use Ultimate Compound to clean up the screen in the absence of Glass Polish
Yes, a compound can typically be used on glass as long as there is not window tint/film on the exterior of the glass.
How long would the sealant last ? And if I reapply. the sealant, need to repeat same process of polish + sealant again ?
How long any wax or sealant protects is highly variable and dependent on a number of factors including the condition of the vehicle and especially the environment it is in. That being said we typically recommend you wax at least 3-4 times per year if the vehicle is a daily driver or sees the elements even semi-regularly.
Can be use inside the car ?
Would you do this to all the windows or just the windscreen cheers
You can do it to any of the windows/glass as long as there is not UV coating/film on the exterior of the glass.
Would you use the glass compound with a DA polisher or is it only safe to use by hand?
You can use it either way. 👍
I have previously used GardX glass guard and it left streaks when I buffed it off and could see it on cold weather, would this do the same? Thanks
No, this should not leave streaks.
Hi I was just wondering if it was too cold use that stuff on windows bow
We do not recommend it be used if it is less than 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
Hybrid ceramic detailer can use wind screen too?
Yes.
@@meguiars 100% confirm ya? Im from malaysia .today first time i buy and use this product. I just spray body . Now i can spray my wind screen
How long do you recommend the product will last?
Lot's of variables which go in to durability but we are seeing several months with good maintenance.
Side to side door panel be apply ??
Sorry, we are not clear what your question is?
Can I use glass cleaner to spray some mist on microfibre towel for wiping off the dry glass sealant ?
Can you clarify what you mean by "wiping off the dry glass sealant"? Are you asking how to remove a product from the glass? Which product? Why?
Meguiar's oh~ I mean when applied Perfect Clarity Glass Sealant, after it dry can I use Perfect Clarity Glass Cleaner Spray to clean off the dry glass sealant instead of using warm water as shown in the video?

Meguiar's alright, understood.
Are all these products sunlight friendly?? Thanks in advance
It's is never ideal to work in direct sunlight but as long as the surface itself is not hot you will often have not issues with application.
Hello, tell me. How make first touch to cleaning glass without scratch.
Thank you
I'm sorry, we are not sure what you're asking.
@@meguiars If you have completely dirty front glass. What is best steps and use products for cleaning without scratch. 🤔😉
Washing the surface would be your best option to remove all loose contaminates from the surface safely.
@@meguiars ok. Please can you meke packet with this products for me because in my country is very hard buying.

Does the compound remove water spots?
Yes. 👍
@@meguiars thanks
👍
Will this also work for the inside of the glass ?
Yes, but the inside does not take the beating that the outside usually does so it may not be necessary.
Meguiar's so one spray and wipe is enough for the inside ?
Yes, typically. Glass does not degrade like paint or other finishes and the interior of a car doesn't get much other than light dirt or dust.

Same process as interior glass?
Yes, the same can be done on the interior but of course the interior is not exposed to the elements in the same way.
Can be use inside the car ??
Yes, any glass regardless of its location on the car. 👍
