I use a prebiotic fiber made of partially hydrolyzed guar gum (PHGG) once daily. I can’t handle other fibers but this kind doesn’t affect me negatively at all. It actually keeps me regular. This along with probiotics and other supps have started to improve my SIBO. If you can’t handle fiber try PHGG, it helps a lot!

@@DrRuscioDCI’ve been given this fiber, plus some baby drops and allicin max tablets whilst on low fodmap. After the first week my guy motility started to speed up, but as I increased the supplements it has slowed down again. Could it be I am better with low dose fiber? I think it was the fiber that made me worse. It causes me headaches and sickness. I’m going to try lowering it back down to 1G (starting dose) and see if that helps me. Just wondered what your take was on that? It’s been over a week now maybe 2 on highest dose of PHGG (5G)

I was completely intolerant to fibre and fermentable carbs (which cause mega constipation and the slew of accompanying symptoms) for 3 years.
I started Bacillus Coagulans 3 weeks ago and all my symptoms are now at like a 2/10, as apposed to the daily 8-9/10 I was dealing with before. Plus, I now have an absolute gleaming poop everyday that slides right out effortlessly😅 I was literally partially prolapsing almost every time I went to the toilet before, it really was horrendous.
I cannot/couldn't? tolerate regular probiotics as they spike my symptoms, so was always put off and saw them as counterproductive. But no, not this one. Also, the evidence of its benefits is fairly robust
It has really been life changing for me. I implore you to at least give it a try, I really think it would help you!

I understand what you are saying but supplements are costly. Taking them for months and waiting for pain relief is ridiculous. If it is only cut SIBO in half??? I spent hundreds of dollars on supplements with no relief for months and weeks. After one round of Rifaximin, I could finally sleep. Something more has to be done. More and more people are getting these diseases. There is something in our food or grains that is causing this.

I’m not sure if I still have Sibo. I was treated with antibiotics in January primarily to help with iron absorption, and it didn’t work, not sure if it was the prescription iron or sibo. ND now wonders if it may be SiFo. It has been exhausting trying to heal, I’m going on two years since diagnosed. Thankfully, hematologist offered an infusion since I can no longer tolerate iron as I did, which since February has caused me constipation.

Great video, I’d be curious to know which specific supplements you recommend for methane as well as probiotics. I don’t need a list of all of them just one or two to get started to see how I do. I recently saw a gastroenterologist in Southern California referred to me by Dr. Pimentel‘s office. He didn’t seem familiar with people using anything other than antibiotics. He also said it has been proven that you cannot change the Gut microbiome. I have actually heard some holistic doctor say the same thing, so I didn’t want to totally dismiss it, but it seems sort of depressing. He said if you were in your gut Microbiome when you’re young with antibiotics, very young, which I did, it’s just going to stay that way for the rest of your life. He’s very young, In his 20s, he worked at Pimentel’s office, maybe as an intern, I don’t know. I’m wondering why so many gastroenterologists claim data they have reviewed shows you cannot change the micro biome. He uses two antibiotics for methane, one of which can cause tinnitus, Prefer not to take that since I got rid of my tinnitus years ago, that drove me crazy. I may have already had SIBO , but my bad symptoms occurred after food poisoning incident. I’m sure I was more susceptible due to intestinal disbiosis And like he got diagnosed by a holistic practitioner years ago. Sorry for the long response.

If the problem is too much bacteria trapped in the small intestine, wouldn't adding more bacteria (aka probiotics) make the problem even worse? I'm scared to eat anything fermentable ever again, or add probiotics to a problem of bacteria overgrowth... any thoughts on my situation? I tend to recommend that people with gut sensitivities start with probiotics before adding in prebiotics. Prebiotics can sometimes upset sensitive guts. I was diagnosed with Methane SIBO / IMO about 2 months ago. My biggest symptom was severe bloating/ like I was 6 months pregnant, constantly, even without eating/ drinking anything. Also weight gain in the abdomen, despite of working out 5-6 times a week / not eating over 1,500-1,600 calories most days or less. Just finished Rifaximin & neomycin treatment and for the first time in like 4-5 years that I'm going to the bathroom regularly (like 2-3) times a day, after food; where for years it would be like once every few days. I do still have bloating though? Does it take a bit for body to transition with bloating or any input / help that u can provide? Also once treated, any supplements to take on daily to help prevent/ keep SIBO away or which out of your recommendation would suit me best? I am someone who when eats salads /healthy, feels worse.

I think you should get tested again. Most people need 2 or 3 rounds of antibiotics to get rid of sibo especially Methan dominated sibo cause after you kill the methan you stuck with hydrogen that can develop back to Methan, so its crucial to start another round of antibiotics right after finishing the first round to kill the hydrogen and that will probably bring down the bloating.

I have ordered the soil based, and the bifido probiotics, and wonder if I can use all 3, at the same time, with low FODMAP, and fiber??? I, also have Acute Intermittent porphyria and HAVE to eat carbs, yet, have diabetes, and am not supposed to eat carbs. What am I to do? I am not supposed to fast, but I do, for many hours. I finally eat my first meal, between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. I went one day, this week without diarrhea. I heard him say it could take 3 months to heal. The price is so much better than xifaxin, which is $900 with insurance, and $2200 without insurance, for 14 days of xifaxin.
