I really like your commentary.
@@funkypants5023 thank you
Interesting channel, just keep up the good job.
It would be very interesting and educational to see on this type of valve covers the vacuum flow channels cut open from the crankcase hose entrance to the PCV valve housing toward the Intake manifold exit including the PVC valve cut open.
Yes I need to replace
Complete valve Cover so I have scrap one to temper with
Good video brother thanks for showing stuff in detail just watched another video where this guy was just rushing 🤦🏾♂️👍🏾 I was wondering what those little grommets in the kit are for 😁👍🏾 this design is better than having those spark plug tube seals stuck in the valve cover though I think that's y they did it like that
Yes do it correct and there will be no oil in plugs!!
The little gasket in between the grommets, do you need to apply Honda bond on the mold of the fitting too?
No
What's the bolt size for the grommets I'm going to get a whole new cover
I don’t have bolt size the dealer will give u that when u order ur gasket ask them at parts
First thing I do when I get a car with is remove those stupid plastic engine covers. I was curious how much you charge for this job?
This job labor is like $190 with gromets and part under $80 kit
Hey brother I accidentally dropped a small rtv inside the engine. Maybe an inch long, but sort of skinny. Would I be okay??
Ummm it all depends where it end up !! It can block the oil ports or sensors that changes timing on so it’s a good luck thing. 99% chance it will be fine
@@RBTheMechanic looks like it fell inside the "oil drain passage" but i could be wrong, as i dont know where the holes lead to
@@McDzy ok well if it goes down it will stay there no issies
Wouldn’t you change the spark plugs too while doing this job? I thought that was part of this process.
It’s all on customer if they wanna pay for it
Mine need to be changed so I wanted to ask the mechanic shop to change them out while they’re replacing the engine valve cover gasket. Is it fair for me to ask for a reduced price on the labor of replacing the spark plugs? Since they’re already having to take them out of the engine for this process?
While cover is open, why not also adjust valves?
That’s ur choice car is too erly for that and that’s like another $300 service customer will not pay for that but if so I would do so
So even if the spark plugs are new you have to replace them?
This doesn’t have anything to do with spark plugs it’s leaking gasket repair
@@RBTheMechanic I was talking about if the old was down there.
Where the hell was this video two months ago man. 😭
It was up and loaded and ready to be watched !!
About how many miles this car has. ?
90k
Didn’t you skip a step where you put the RTV gasket maker on?
Not sure but put it on rash side where I show
rash side?????
Do I use any sealant, vaseline petroleum?
No only silicon on timing cover meet area
Hondabond. All 4 corners
@@kevinc2332 yup
Why don’t you take off the negative battery?
Keep all the memory
2017 Honda Accord Sport doesn’t have those screws
Humm will look in to it
@@RBTheMechanic I just did mine today thanks to your video ;)
Also, with so many leaking, There is also a national shortage of OEM gaskets.
😢damn i wish you stayed in texas, ide bring my whole family 😅
Yeah sorry I’m up north NJ
@@RBTheMechanic used to live in cherry hill!
@@RBTheMechanicMoving to NJ next month, I'll bring you mine.. Is 78k miles, is leaking a little bit where in North Jersey? Would you recommend adjusting valves with that mileage? Since we're there already.. I already replaced the PCV valve thanks to your video 😂 actually! But I have no problem bringing you my troubles and paying for the service.
Can you use any silicone
