If you can't even stay away from committing crimes during probation, then you deserve the extra time. Remember his violation here wasn't just that he was driving on a suspended license. He had bullets on him too, which is illegal if you are a felon to begin with. And come on? strong arm robbery? That is just a step away from murder. The punishment should fit the crime. 60 years for breaking probation is ridiculous. Even though he suspended it, being on probation for 50 years is also incredibly excessive. You lose so many of your rights while on probation & you’re at the mercy of the system during that time. The judge should have just done the normal sentencing & had him in jail for 10 years or so at most then probation after that for 5 or so years. The sentence shouldn’t cover his entire life unless he committed something like murder or rape.

Astralpeace actually the point of being a judge is having a strong and fair opinion. You don’t even know the details that got him locked up the first time? Strong arm robbery and breaking in homes? Judge went way too easy on him. I would’ve used him as an example and laughed as he got escorted out by police. I’m a black man too and I don’t condone in stealing or this foolery that make us as a people look like demons.

Sadly, Herbert Smith died in 2020, shot by a rival gang member outside of a night club...
He had broken his parole a few months after getting his second chance, and got caught after breaking into a house with a gun. He did 14 months for that, and then got killed shortly after getting out.

He had convicted felon in the car with him and bullets. That in its self is a felony and also shows he is still a danger to his community. That being said i believe 60 is too much, but i think that judge just wants him to always have a very, very good reason to follow tue caring people in his community and have a changed life.
