From a South Africa living in London with a Dutch mother, this is so incredible to watch. Thank you so much, I will be making your recipe this weekend! Danke
Awesome, Love your video. So happy you have this recipe, wow. Thank you for taking time to explain everything, in such detail. the story was a special touch. Your croquettes look so amazingly delicious.
This is a very fussy recipe, and I know it must be the best croquette! I make the chicken croquette that I learn from my friend's Dutch Grandmother. I love them. Thank you
Thanks Jams, of course there are lots of different delicious recipes passing thru generations in families since more than a century "lucky us" thanks for watching
Awesome video thanks, Mum raised in Holland made these for Danish father and not long after were married! Followed your recipe and also sprinkled a small amount of curry powder to the broth. Smell of curry and nutmeg together had neighbours drooling saliva, mission accomplished! Many thanks, well done!
Thank you! First thing I had in Amsterdam was Kroket. It was love at first bite! Over next few days I had it many more times and told myself, I was gonna make it one day. After watching your video, I am so making it soon! Thank you for taking time to upload this.
Great video, love the steps of making the ragu. Great music. I've been making croquettes for years from memory of watching a friend of my mom make them when I was 13 years old. Will definitely use this recipe from now on. I also really enjoyed how you included the history of the croquette.
I have lived in Holland I have really missed these. Don't know why I thought they contained mashed potatoes. Going to make these soon. Thank you for the original recipe.
The Dutch do make them out of potato which makes them very bland. Stick to making them with veal or beef, tastes way better even if it takes longer, They are worth your time.
yeh, so here I am again 1 year later, I only make them every 6 mos...It's so hard to get the ragu taste right!!!! But I always refer back to your vid, the absolute best along with my mum's simple recipe...and the best part is the cold, dark beer!! and don't listen to dweebs, the music is perfect....actually, turn it up!!! Thanx dude, awesome....
Lekker Een, lm a Dutch born New Zealander, my parents both dutch used to make these and past on a slightly different recipe but I've tried your one and it just that bit better..hahaha. The history is really interesting I allways though it was a dutch thing, but it shows when you eat snails something's got to give...🤣
I been in Casablanca and I went to Harbor Restaurant, they served the fish croquette with amazing souse..I think it was a vinegar souse. Thank you for your replay and have a great day,
mooi gedaan!! Net als die van moeder!!..except...heb ik altijd een probleem...soms is het ragu TE nat...dan als ik flour erbij doet , dan smaakt te foury, if you know what I mean...als, ik heb broth over, en als ik het alles wil gebruiken is het erg veel te nat? What should I do?
Hey :) I'm from Brazil, and i decided to watch how other countries use to do a Kroket. It's definitely very different from ours. I'll try your recipe. I also recommend you to try our brazilian version, you're not going to be disappointed. Thanks for sharing!
Very nice! I have always used a very old recipe from my Oma in The Netherlands. The roux used milk. I will try the broth this year. Seems that it would be very tasty! Also I make them smaller. Happy New Year!
Made the meat filling today. Cooling in the back room. Cold enough here in Ontario. I will let you know how they turn out tomorrow. Possibly New Year's Day at your home.
Thank you very much for this recipe. I love the Krokets and especially Goulash Kroket. Unfortunately it's not available in the area for Germany I'm living. So I eat them always when I'm visiting the Netherlands and also bring some frozen ones with me. I'll try your recipe soon. Do you have any hints how do adopt your recipe to get some nice Goulash Krokets? I will also use your recipe as a basis for an experiment to create a low carb style Kroket.
What time are you making dinner? I want to come over and try your Krokets. They look so tasty. I will need to book a flight on KLM from Los Angeles of course, so send me your address! :-)
Sorry... Lots more work than needed for the broth... Too much meet and the serving is too large. I make them 50 to 75% that size which is manageable. Good instruction though!
The Gourmet Gambit lol Thanks I always use to much flour. I do it the way mom taught me but it’s never like moms. Mom never did a rue like you did. I’m going to try this during the holidays. My 🇨🇦 friends love them
Hartelijk bedankt! I left the Netherland's at the age of 22 to roam around the world and live in France now since many years. Thanks for your support Jenö!

Yes you are right about the milk, a number of old recipes refer to bechamel. Happy new year to you all!
Made the meat filling today. Cooling in the back room. Cold enough here in Ontario. I will let you know how they turn out tomorrow. Possibly New Year's Day at your home.

There was a time people didn't know administrative borders only natural ones. Nationalities divides humans.
Yes, but in these times did the Neanderthals made beef croquettes?
We are still the Neanderthals.
Loving it! you sound Dutch am i right? Muziek staat iets te hard. But i love kroketten so who cares ;)
Hartelijk bedankt!
What is the brand of your cooking pot? I have the stainless steel one but it got burnt when I made kinda sauce
Hi. Can you freeze the mixture and defrost to fry another batch another day????
You can freeze the finished croquettes and then deep fry them for a few minutes when still frozen.

Cheap beef cuts, 5€ per kg, but of course the food industrie makes them cheaper! Thanks for dropping by!
Why the loud music? It's so annoying and I can hardly hear you.
Love the instructions - but the music kills your voice! Totally not needed
PLEASE CUT THE MUSIC, I CAN'T HEAR YOU TALKING!
