I honestly didn’t think they’d let your character do the killing curse. That alone makes me think this could actually be an interesting game, with a cool fighting system.

One of my most memorable and nostalgic gaming experiences was playing through the PS1 and PS2 Harry Potter games when I was a kid, exploring the halls of the castle, finding secret doors behind bookshelves, battling weird and wonderful creatures and collecting Witches & Wizards cards (I hope this game has those!). I'll admit I cried a little watching this trailer, thinking back to those times... If this game manages to capture even 10% of the wonder and awe I felt back then, it might just become one of my favourites of all time! 😭💕
I hear you!! I played the oldest harry potter PC games back in my elementary school. The first two games were so memorable that I always dream about the castle when I was a kid.
I am not a big Potter fan far from it seen all the movies did not like it much but the setting and the world Interested me loved the games tho flying foot balls was very fun.
Never had a chance to play a Harry Potter game growing up but definitely tried be Witch or wizard from the series in other game ahem Elder Scrolls other rpgs. Good times

Fleshed out, mate. Just in case you are not a native speaker , learn phrases and idioms through their roots and origin. For instance, to flesh out is easy enough to understand as it means to give something more weight or details as in adding flesh to bones. Learning English that way will bring you closer to the soul of the language as well as steer you clear of these common errors.

You cant do that actually. Even if they say its open world, there is a storyline behind it and cant avoid that so cant avoid the combat. I think its like uncharted 4, but with a load of missions and storyline.

I love that you can become good or evil - makes it fun to be free on either spectrum and can even replay the whole thing as the opposite path you previously chose. I'm so excited for this!!!

Rockstar comes to mind. This gameplay overview is definitely their style. Just check RDR2 videos they released a few months prior to launch to see what I'm talking about.
@@THNF89 cyberpunk did something similar. With any game that is ambitious as this you need to be cautious. This is a monumental undertaking of a game, the sheer volume of the world, let alone all the unique mechanics and systems in play, its not going to be easy sticking the landing.
This actually looks good tbh. The gameplay looks good as well and so does hogwarts. I like that this is exploring the HP universe without the majority of the characters from HP. It’s an RPG set way back in time before Voldemort and Harry. I really like that. It’s a new story entirely not just a repeat of what we’ve already seen before so many times.
we hav never seen anything like this, even if they had kept current times and the old characters, it would've still felt like a complete different game.
I adore the new teachers, they look whimsical and charming! I adored the Harry Potter games while growing up but they always felt like an uncomplete, short experience. I can't help but be excited for this one!

Honestly the only thing that makes it Harry Potter I'd the fact that it takes place in that universe. Other than that all the characters are different and it's just a really good magic wizard simulator.
I know many people will do so, as you will get different sequences and different quests based on the house you choose. It’s even across the board, so no house gets more content than the others, but the experience will be a bit different for each house, and for die hard fans, that’s priceless!
I'm getting heavy Jedi: Fallen Order vibes in some places, but with so much more of its own Harry Potter uniqueness. This game looks awesome and is definitely on my PS5 wishlist
This looks better than I was expecting, looks beyond epic, the amount of detail, the open world, the gameplay, the graphics, the characters, the systems, flying, spells, potions, animations, I'm speechless, did not expect this... this trailer got me HYPED lol.. I'm 100% doing a play through of this on the channel, can't friggin wait... hope it's co-op in some form... free roaming with a friend, exploring Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, etc would be EPIC.

A friend being able to play the story co-op with you, just not shown in cutscenes would be ideal though... but that's being greedy, cause the game looks phenomenal, and i'd be just fine if it was purely a single player experience.
The harry potter games till the Prisoner of Azkaban used to be amazing. Especially Chambers of secrets. I used to talk about how they no longer explore this massive world and now WB has given us the long-awaited game. I'm probably going to spend a considerable amount of time of my life in this game.
Absolutely! I loved Chamber of Secrets, it was a really good game with good gameplay mechanics and satisfying secrets - and evoked that feeling of wonder and mystery while playing. In a sense, while it only loosely followed the movie plot, it had the opportunity to become a good game. I still play it to this day sometimes, because it's just so fun.. and the music score is simply amazing! Sadly the following games went downhill fast because they stopped caring about gameplay and put more emphasis on 'realistic graphics' to pander to the fans of the actors. At this point I don't know if I should allow myself to be excited, but I really, really hope this game will turn out as good as it currently looks... Then I will cherish it forever.
This is fkn incredible. Mind-blowing how much depth and effort has been put into this. I can see myself playing this for hours on ends. I really thought I'd outgrown my HP phase but projects like these will always keep that part of me alive. Very excited!
This looks so exciting, all the magic to learn, the creatures etc. Also if the quest is to discover this forgotten magic that goblins or other dark wizards are after, we're probably gonna be warned in the story that we're messing with power we can't understand, let alone control
My 8 year old self is screaming. This is the game I've been hoping for for most of my life. I do hope there's just as much - if not more - story and exploration as opposed to focusing on combat, though. Otherwise that could kill it for me.

@@StuffAndMemes "Garbage" is a bit strong, but I did see some animation quircks for sure. That being said, rigging is often repolished at the end of development. Overall, I had an "old style pushed to new heights" vibe. They clearly aren't using the latest gen stuff, but they seem to use the old tools quite well.
I grew up playing all the Harry Potter games since childhood and this upcoming game alone just met my expectations! This looks very amazing! It's incredible how the team managed to develop something this great! I can't wait to start exploring around Hogwarts and Hogsmeade AND HOPEFULLY DIAGON ALLEY! Super excited!

The game looks extremely promising with all the abilities and fighting mechanics but the real question is how buggy and on the verge of broken will it be lets hope that its not as buggy as recent released games
Cannot say much, but then production team along with a few others have been anal about making sure the game is perfect, all the way up to the sound even being a little too loud at certain points. At this point it’s just tweaking the game for the most part. It’ll be better than it looks!
i assume because of how long theyve been working and perfecting the game and bug report will be looked at and worked on fairly quickly compared to other games, if the bugs arent game breaking and don't stuff up my gameplay I wouldn't mind them.
@@alchemist824 It's cool mechanic indeed however I have mixed feelings about it since Accio isn't supposed to be able to be used on living things only objects. Maybe instead they should have used Levi Corpus? But then again Snape "invented" that spell and he's not alive in the 1800s.
Everything looks great so far but I feel there's no weight to the spells. HP 5/6 game had the best spells and physics. The reparo sequence at 6:00, the rocks look so fake arranging themselves and the duel attack spells felt light.
Growing up playing the older Harry Potter games this is the kind of Wizarding world game I've always wanted. Creating your own character and experiencing being a student at Hogwarts I can't wait.

I hope that the fact we can turn evil comes into play more then just using evil spells like maybe it can have a effect on the world. Such as our companions being more afraid of us maybe our magic corrupts our bodies (Cole from Infamous is a good example that'd be pretty sick to see) I just want the world to react to the path we choose. BTW I am not even a Harry Potter fan might actually become one now because the game looks amazing. So feel free to discredit this comment
I think the devs will include a "dark side" for our character but i dont think it will change the whole main story. You can ear it during the video : as a player, you have to find out and stop the evil from the world of wizards, so yeah, it will probably focus on the relationship with our mates or teachers, but not in the story, well i guess. *Sorry for my english, i'm french*
i can discredit by saying these system existed as far as star wars KOTOR games... yet because they're older now many people doesn't seem to know about it as much or forget it but i'm glad they're finally coming with a big harry potter game since all the other ones were basically just rewriting the movies into a game and kind of crappy and finally a game company is using the harry potter world at a much higher potential that it deserves (but i'm not going to be too hyped about it until i get to try it for myself and make a better opinion about it because lots of games makes big promises and ends up being just little parts of the game that they show and stuff) so i mean we'll see if it's truely great or if it's an illusion

It's awesome to see a game in the Hogwarts/Wizarding universe that actually looks amazing. I was skeptical by the first few minutes but by the end I was completely sold. All I ever wanted in a game like this, and I'm glad it doesn't focus on Harry or any of the characters we already know. I hope this lives up to expectations!

Honestly, I was sceptical that this game would fail since Harry Potter hasn’t been exactly popular recently but even outside of my nostalgia for the series this game just looks great as a game in general.

U don’t have the read the books if you don’t want to of course but maybe try out the first one if you have time they have a lot more details and I like them more but if you’re not super into it of course u don’t have to I watched the movie first and wasn’t planning on reading the books till my friends made me and they were definitely better

If we can shoot people in games...then surely the AK would not be much different. Far less blood for one. Compared to a bullet the AK's quite....humane. Instant with no pain.

Yeah, CGI limitations can totally ruin magic systems on screen. The movies also had the limitation of coming out 20 years ago. CGI effects have taken massive steps forward since then. All that being said; I think the Voldermort-Dumbledore fight is my favorite scene in the entire series and it still (mostly) holds up.
This looks amazing, wow! After Hogwarts Mysteries I was kind of ignoring this game but I gotta say, I am a big Harry Potter fan and I am impressed. I just hope that there is an easy way to ensure getting the house that we are in because I would be mad if I did not get my house (Hufflepuff).
This really looks great. Watching some hands-on playtime, knowing how you can develop your skills, and how well it runs are the last big factors I'm wondering about.
This! Concept seems solid, the systems look good, the combat looks better than previous games attempted in the space, and the story seems less re-hashed so far…but the current state of performance is a bit rough. Pop in, judder, and the like in a lot of what they’ve shown off. I hope they can iron it out by release.
@@matonano I'm really excited about the game and I really hope I can dig in. I'm not sure if there's any replay value to joining other houses. From the sounds of it you'll be able to get into other common rooms regardless with your castle magic. I'd love for this to be a solid 40-60 hour adventure with a 20 hour main story. I'd like to avoid it being too big of a game. I'd guess from the setup of being in your 5th year, they plan on having a 6th and 7th year game eventually.

Or maybe other careers where they can still make it relevant. I think making it a full mmo would be a mistake, but there are a lot of things they can do to explore the world. I've thought this for years, where you can choose death eaters or the order of the phoenix, and choices you make in the game change your character like swtor
it would need a bigger world but yea that extremely cool. Hogwarts legacy could be the Single player/co op game then you have Hogwarts World a huge double the size game that an mmorpg you can start the game from 2 schools Hogwarts aka Legacy or the American version or what listed after completing your early life their you go to the larger world and visit larger areas of the potter universe . Or Depending on your irl Location it automatically Determined where your school is and where you start on the larger would after words the world is your oyster after you do the school stuff you can get a job or create a job faction to join ectra no real over arching story and player driven would make in chaotically fun. and set in a parallel Universe to not chaos having with the timeline. you could also play different races maybe or half bloods.

I hear you!! I played the oldest harry potter PC games back in my elementary school. The first two games were so memorable that I always dream about the castle when I was a kid.
I am not a big Potter fan far from it seen all the movies did not like it much but the setting and the world Interested me loved the games tho flying foot balls was very fun.
Never had a chance to play a Harry Potter game growing up but definitely tried be Witch or wizard from the series in other game ahem Elder Scrolls other rpgs. Good times

For instance, to flesh out is easy enough to understand as it means to give something more weight or details as in adding flesh to bones. You cant do that actually. Even if they say its open world, there is a storyline behind it and cant avoid that so cant avoid the combat. I think its like uncharted 4, but with a load of missions and storyline.

I like how this seems to be hitting on a lot of familiar story beats from HP that we all love without feeling like it's a rehash of the same old stuff

I love that you can become good or evil - makes it fun to be free on either spectrum and can even replay the whole thing as the opposite path you previously chose. I'm so excited for this!!!

@@THNF89 cyberpunk did something similar. With any game that is ambitious as this you need to be cautious. This is a monumental undertaking of a game, the sheer volume of the world, let alone all the unique mechanics and systems in play, its not going to be easy sticking the landing.
This actually looks good tbh. The gameplay looks good as well and so does hogwarts. I like that this is exploring the HP universe without the majority of the characters from HP. It’s an RPG set way back in time before Voldemort and Harry. I really like that. It’s a new story entirely not just a repeat of what we’ve already seen before so many times.

I adore the new teachers, they look whimsical and charming! I adored the Harry Potter games while growing up but they always felt like an uncomplete, short experience. I can't help but be excited for this one!

I know many people will do so, as you will get different sequences and different quests based on the house you choose. It’s even across the board, so no house gets more content than the others, but the experience will be a bit different for each house, and for die hard fans, that’s priceless!

This looks better than I was expecting, looks beyond epic, the amount of detail, the open world, the gameplay, the graphics, the characters, the systems, flying, spells, potions, animations, I'm speechless, did not expect this... this trailer got me HYPED lol.. I'm 100% doing a play through of this on the channel, can't friggin wait... hope it's co-op in some form... free roaming with a friend, exploring Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, etc would be EPIC.

A friend being able to play the story co-op with you, just not shown in cutscenes would be ideal though... but that's being greedy, cause the game looks phenomenal, and i'd be just fine if it was purely a single player experience.

The harry potter games till the Prisoner of Azkaban used to be amazing. Especially Chambers of secrets. I used to talk about how they no longer explore this massive world and now WB has given us the long-awaited game. I'm probably going to spend a considerable amount of time of my life in this game.
Absolutely! I loved Chamber of Secrets, it was a really good game with good gameplay mechanics and satisfying secrets - and evoked that feeling of wonder and mystery while playing. In a sense, while it only loosely followed the movie plot, it had the opportunity to become a good game. I still play it to this day sometimes, because it's just so fun.. and the music score is simply amazing!
Sadly the following games went downhill fast because they stopped caring about gameplay and put more emphasis on 'realistic graphics' to pander to the fans of the actors.
At this point I don't know if I should allow myself to be excited, but I really, really hope this game will turn out as good as it currently looks... Then I will cherish it forever.

My 8 year old self is screaming. This is the game I've been hoping for for most of my life. I do hope there's just as much - if not more - story and exploration as opposed to focusing on combat, though. Otherwise that could kill it for me.

@@StuffAndMemes "Garbage" is a bit strong, but I did see some animation quircks for sure. That being said, rigging is often repolished at the end of development. Overall, I had an "old style pushed to new heights" vibe. They clearly aren't using the latest gen stuff, but they seem to use the old tools quite well.

The game looks extremely promising with all the abilities and fighting mechanics but the real question is how buggy and on the verge of broken will it be lets hope that its not as buggy as recent released games
Cannot say much, but then production team along with a few others have been anal about making sure the game is perfect, all the way up to the sound even being a little too loud at certain points. At this point it’s just tweaking the game for the most part. It’ll be better than it looks!

i assume because of how long theyve been working and perfecting the game and bug report will be looked at and worked on fairly quickly compared to other games, if the bugs arent game breaking and don't stuff up my gameplay I wouldn't mind them.
@@alchemist824 It's cool mechanic indeed however I have mixed feelings about it since Accio isn't supposed to be able to be used on living things only objects. Maybe instead they should have used Levi Corpus? But then again Snape "invented" that spell and he's not alive in the 1800s.

Everything looks great so far but I feel there's no weight to the spells. HP 5/6 game had the best spells and physics. The reparo sequence at 6:00, the rocks look so fake arranging themselves and the duel attack spells felt light.
Growing up playing the older Harry Potter games this is the kind of Wizarding world game I've always wanted. Creating your own character and experiencing being a student at Hogwarts I can't wait.

I hope that the fact we can turn evil comes into play more then just using evil spells like maybe it can have a effect on the world. Such as our companions being more afraid of us maybe our magic corrupts our bodies (Cole from Infamous is a good example that'd be pretty sick to see) I just want the world to react to the path we choose. BTW I am not even a Harry Potter fan might actually become one now because the game looks amazing. So feel free to discredit this comment
I think the devs will include a "dark side" for our character but i dont think it will change the whole main story. You can ear it during the video : as a player, you have to find out and stop the evil from the world of wizards, so yeah, it will probably focus on the relationship with our mates or teachers, but not in the story, well i guess.

i can discredit by saying these system existed as far as star wars KOTOR games... yet because they're older now many people doesn't seem to know about it as much or forget it
but i'm glad they're finally coming with a big harry potter game since all the other ones were basically just rewriting the movies into a game and kind of crappy and finally a game company is using the harry potter world at a much higher potential that it deserves (but i'm not going to be too hyped about it until i get to try it for myself and make a better opinion about it because lots of games makes big promises and ends up being just little parts of the game that they show and stuff) so i mean we'll see if it's truely great or if it's an illusion

It's awesome to see a game in the Hogwarts/Wizarding universe that actually looks amazing. I was skeptical by the first few minutes but by the end I was completely sold. All I ever wanted in a game like this, and I'm glad it doesn't focus on Harry or any of the characters we already know. I hope this lives up to expectations!

Honestly, I was sceptical that this game would fail since Harry Potter hasn’t been exactly popular recently but even outside of my nostalgia for the series this game just looks great as a game in general.

I think the reasoning is you haven't been accepted at Hogwarts until Year 5, which is odd but I'm sure they'll explain it.

The devs said we wouldnt be able to learn Avada Kedavra, but here they surprised us by showing we actually will be able to. So it seems so! I would love to do an evil run, sounds like so much fun.

The combat in the movies was always subpar IMO (it’s hard to make wand combat badass lol), but it looks super dope in this game. So excited
Yeah, CGI limitations can totally ruin magic systems on screen. The movies also had the limitation of coming out 20 years ago. CGI effects have taken massive steps forward since then.
All that being said; I think the Voldermort-Dumbledore fight is my favorite scene in the entire series and it still (mostly) holds up.

This really looks great. Watching some hands-on playtime, knowing how you can develop your skills, and how well it runs are the last big factors I'm wondering about.
This! Concept seems solid, the systems look good, the combat looks better than previous games attempted in the space, and the story seems less re-hashed so far…but the current state of performance is a bit rough. Pop in, judder, and the like in a lot of what they’ve shown off. I hope they can iron it out by release.
@@matonano I'm really excited about the game and I really hope I can dig in. I'm not sure if there's any replay value to joining other houses. From the sounds of it you'll be able to get into other common rooms regardless with your castle magic.
I'd love for this to be a solid 40-60 hour adventure with a 20 hour main story. I'd like to avoid it being too big of a game. I'd guess from the setup of being in your 5th year, they plan on having a 6th and 7th year game eventually.
@@Redflametrow I could see the 6th and 7th years also possibly being big DLCs, but there's also a large chance they would make new games for that
@@earthbloodelf5289 It'd be a fun time to do that for sure. Even if they could transition into being an actual auror, that'd be really cool. Or maybe other careers where they can still make it relevant. I think making it a full mmo would be a mistake, but there are a lot of things they can do to explore the world. I really don't need them to stick to the established lore or namedrop anyone either.

@@hamster4810 If i had enough to purchase the game on consoles, id go full dark wizard slytherin, but only when it benefitted me the most without causing collateral damage and causing a ruckus. maybe an imperio to pass skill checks

A MMO based on this story would be awesome ! I can see a party with 4-5 players with shield spells, attack spells, healing potions and all sorts of interesting magics :)

I've thought this for years, where you can choose death eaters or the order of the phoenix, and choices you make in the game change your character like swtor

Hogwarts legacy could be the Single player/co op game
then you have Hogwarts World a huge double the size game that an mmorpg you can start the game from 2 schools Hogwarts aka Legacy or the American version or what listed after completing your early life their you go to the larger world and visit larger areas of the potter universe .
Or Depending on your irl Location it automatically Determined where your school is and where you start on the larger would after words the world is your oyster after you do the school stuff you can get a job or create a job faction to join ectra no real over arching story and player driven would make in chaotically fun. and set in a parallel Universe to not chaos having with the timeline.
