    I have a similar machine that is electric. For drying. I have found that Optimum setting in the cottons has the most heat. I put my hand at the end of the vent to feel the heat and can definitely feel a difference. The time dry is not that hot. I haven't timed it but I would say Optimum dry is about 35-45 minutes to dry. Give that a try.

    I just bought the same machine, and your videos are helpful to familiarize me with it. As far as your dryer taking so long to dry, and sweating, I think you should check your vent hose to see if it's too long. Also, see if it's clogged with lint, or has too many bends in it. My new machine dries a full washer load in about 50-60 minutes with no issues.

      Thank you Mark Reed for the support. I did do a vent cleaning/hose cleaning. Sadly, not much improvement to report. About 60-90 minutes drying time (gas).

    Thank you for clarifying about the lint trap! The manual only really mentioned you can slide out the lid, but I wasn't sure about actually pulling out the metal part itself. Turns out mine was slightly misshapen initially which made it harder to pull out and me more hesitant in turn.
    Also that neat air spray trick gives me confidence! I worried about all the lint that would sneak through the gaps but it makes sense to do that post-clean touchup.
    Thanks much :)

    In my experience, socks tend to fall between the washer tub and the machine. If I dump my clothes in the washer with my laundry basket, that's when socks tend to make their way between the tub and the walls of the machine.

    • @jaymejay1

      @AlexArriaga Yes. It will automatically shut off at the end of a cycle (without sound), but you have to just open it mid-cycle to check it.

    Have you ever experienced any moisture accumulation in the dryer on a random basis? We’ve just moved into a new apartment and this combo is installed there. The washer looks fine but when we opened the dryer door, it is damp and musty inside. I don’t know what’s it is the sign of - whether the previous tenants didn’t take a good care of it or any other problems. We haven’t used it yet. Afraid to put our laundry to dry in there, that our clothes would be ruined. Would you have any advice on how to approach that?

    • @jaymejay1
      @jaymejay1  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ivan Shyshkevich yes, this is an ongoing issue and ours was 100% new at the time of purchase, so it has nothing to do with the prior tenants. The only 'fix' we have is doing smaller loads that require less drying time (so less moisture accumulates) and also stopping the dryer often to wipe it down. Your clothes will be ok.

    When it's set at Timed Dry, do you get to choose the temperature setting, or is it assumed to be hottest? Also when you checked in at 90 minutes, aside from being damp, did the clothes feel hot to the touch?

    • @jaymejay1
      @jaymejay1  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @alexkang5583 "Cottons" and "Easy Care" give the most heat. Timed dry does not specifically say but it's likely not the highest -- that's Cotton. The longer you leave the items in Timed Dry the hotter the items get. By the end of 90 minutes, they were hot, but even at 45 minutes very damp. Smaller loads = more success. HTH!

  • @annheatherton
    @annheatherton ปีที่แล้ว

    So if I use the "timed dry" option, the dial actually turns while counting down the minutes???

  • @annheatherton
    @annheatherton ปีที่แล้ว +4

    You may live in a city with high humidity. I am thinking of why that load would take 2 hours to dry. Also, the sweating is a bit alarming. Perhaps because you opt for "the bulky setting" all the time, you are using more water than the dryer was designed to handle?? Also, gas dryers dry clothing faster than electric. That is one reason I bought a second gas unit (plus my closet it already configured for that) beyond electricity savings. Thanks for all your tips. Really doing a heartfelt, generous service for us newbies, girl. (●'◡'●)

    How do you clean the lint out in front of the dryer, between the slats? If you use a vacuum/hose which do you use? Thank you

    • @jaymejay1
      @jaymejay1  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @geminipiratelady75 I do a complete dryer venting. Venting kits usually include a piece thin enough to reach in there, or a long brush that can reach. Most of the lint from the slats gets sucked down into the hose anyway.

    • @jaymejay1

    I had this dryer and It never took me that long to dry, mine was the electric version 220 V. Maybe because I had smaller loads than you. My sheets would be just two queen size sheets and two pillowcases. I have a feeling that you must have a blockage in the exhaust because no way after 90 minutes with everything still not be totally dry and a gas dryer is even faster than an electric dryer.

    • @jaymejay1
      @jaymejay1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing petermaz! - unfortunately the drying time is very long for mine whether the load is small or large. Of course the load size does make a big difference. But it's never been less than 90 minutes, sometimes much much longer. I always *thought* gas dryers would be more efficient but that is definitely not my experience.

    • @petermaz701
      @petermaz701 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@jaymejay1 I really feel that there must be some restriction on the exhaust. I used to go to this condo out in New Hampshire and I couldn’t understand why when I did laundry there the dryer took forever and the heating element would cycle on and off constantly sure enough there was a huge blockage in the exhaust. Have someone check that for you it would be worth it in the long run.

      MJ not really. It still takes and excessive amount of time. I did a full dryer venting/clean and it still takes 90+ minutes. I like the machines overall but would say the drying time is a major issue for me. I have really only found that small loads = faster drying times.
