    My creativity, a strong suit, was sidelined by early ADHD that held me back a grade...which shredded my self confidence, worth, and image. Unlike you, it took me many decades to dig down to that damageing root cause of my dysfunctions; and begin to heal. I know full well of distractions, self sabatoge and being (temporarily) in the zone...hyperfocus. My mission, in the time remaining to me, is to completely reprogram those early imprinted messages. I believe that you, your channel, will be an important part of this part of my journey. Thank you.

    This is awesome info Anthony, especially for is ADHD folks. I was diagnosed in my early 20s, and have been on Concerta and sometimes Aderall ever since. Now at 40, I would love to find tools to be able not to be completely dependent on these meds. To your continued success!

      Glad you enjoyed and resonated w/ the video! Something I don't have much data (beyond antectodal experience) on, but has helped me tremendously in the past 4 months is this supplement my nutritionist put me on called Cort-Eaze. I was skeptical at first, but the results have been significant. Might be worth looking into. P.S. I have no affiliation with this company/product. It's just proved very useful for me recently.

      What are you on if I may ask? Wondering what side affects might be/trade offs.
      I’m almost wondering if I have adhd but I’m afraid to get diagnosed if I am. I’ve always felt like something is wrong with me and that I already had enough various weaknesses and vices to make me have serious depression, self doubt, disbelief in myself and what I’m capable of, that I feel like if I got diagnosed I would just feel like giving up and that it would break me knowing something indeed was wrong with me that I would have another health issue or life issue against me.

    Your channel is really great. I enjoy watching your videos and working out how I can apply them. Focus is something I have improved on in leaps and bounds through improved and positive growth of my mindset and regulation of my emotions. I am much more calmer, get more done, the more important stuff with less effort; but it is far from perfect. I do still waste time, my not getting important things done, when I have the time and instead doing easy but far less important tasks.

    - To have system tailored to your personality that works for how you cope with world and life.
    - Many attempts of improvement evolutionally fail but within all that effort if finding only a few solutions that really work might have huge impact on your progress.
    - Develop constructive creativity based on ability to create something new via connecting two different or related information.

    ADHD is the lack of dopamine and desynch between your attention system and the default mode network (DMN). Ritalin (or chocolate or candy) elevates dopamine levels in these regions which allows to synch back the brain. If administered early in childhood the kid gets a reference point what it means to be focused and it can be of tremendous help.

    • @AnthonyVicino
      @AnthonyVicino  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting. For me, ritalin had more negative effects than positive, but I'm sure it's helpful to a lot of people out there.

    My 5th grade teacher told me something that has really helped me stay focused when encountering challenges. He would say, “How do we eat a whale Michael? One bite at a time.”
    What tricks have you learned to stay focused at other times? Like how do you motivate yourself to do something you know will be good for you even when you don’t want to?

    • @AnthonyVicino
      @AnthonyVicino  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a great philosophy for life!
      Great question on focus.
      Real talk: It's hard and there is no one size fits all solution. I have a bag of tricks I can bust out at any given moment, but the most important concept that's served me is that Discipline beats Motivation. Instead of worrying about cultivating motivation, instead, cultivate the skill of discipline (which I define as "the ability to make yourself do something you don't want to do.")
      Mastering discipline is step one.
      Step two is understanding your a biological machine and that energy management is possibly the most important aspect of focusing. I'll do more content on this concept in the future.
      Step three is environment design. Design your work flow/station in a way that optimizes for focus. Again, more content coming on this in the future.

    When does he say how to boost productivity?

    • @AnthonyVicino
      @AnthonyVicino  ปีที่แล้ว

      Being in the flow/Hyperfocus state is linked with a 500% increase in productivity.
      How to actually get into the flow /Hyperfocus state is a topic for another day.
      (We actually have a course on that topic, but I don't want to just slide into the comments to pimp a product).
      There's a free video on the channel called The Productivity System That Made Me A Millionaire. That's what I'd check out next.

    • @GMoney-B
      @GMoney-B 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@AnthonyVicinowere you able to ever make this course? I would love to check it out. I just found your channel. I am so excited to go through all your videos. I feel like God has shared a link from heaven to me of your TH-cam channel in a beam of hope and guidance so far. Been feeling really down lately, hopeless and discouraged with not being able to focus on things and trying to keep belief that I can achieve all the dreams and greatness I long to.
      Did you find that your diagnosis helped you? or did it make you feel less than and you wish you were none the wiser?
      That’s what I’m worried about if I went in to get diagnosed. I have always often felt like something was wrong with me and I feel like if I got diagnosed it would only make me feel more helpless and not independent for myself. I don’t know if I would be as robust as yourself or others to deal with it.
