    1. Self Acceptance. (Couldn't agree more!)
    2. Success brings clues. A why. Novel. Social support. A plan.
    3. Consistent health / wellness routine via ingrained habits. Sleep, excercise, hydration. Manage your energy.
    4. Weekly routine / rhythm. Take guesswork out of what you do.
    5. Avoid picking up new things until the old thing is done. Helps avoid overwhelm, reduces need to prioritise, and so limits decision paralysis.
    6. A system that works for you

😂😂😂 procasta-learner. I feel so seen😂❤❤ I do this all the time especially with books I want to read. I'll start reading a book and then I'll find another book that I want to read and I'll get it from the library and have a stack of them somehow thinking they're still Elementary level (you thin and easy to read😂)and I can just knock them all out at once😂 but over the years I've noticed my reading speed has greatly decreased🤔

OK I do this... Here is my work around. I buy pack of mini moleskin journals. One journal per book and rubber banded together when not in use. I don't try an remember anything and give myself permission to stop at any point. Some books I only need whats in a chapter or 2. As, I move through the book I make a very simple note of the concept and page # in the book that I need - maybe write down my thoughts or questions to think on later. That's it and go back to it as needed. I get overwhelmed easily and then get mad because I had a really good thought or question but lost it because I had nowhere to put the thought. Still refining my process but now my books have a thought journal and I'll never forget.

I'm definitely a procrati-learner. The big problem is when I go down a rabbithole for something I think will help me reach my goals, but it ends up taking so much time that I realize I'm just treading water.
I'm finding that turning off the wi-fi unless I have an actual purpose for being online is really helping. Today, anyway.

Yes. Doing certain things on certain days is the key. For me, it’s been outside the home one day, inside the home the next day, a full day on the computer Tuesdays, sometimes Thursdays, groceries Sunday delivery = meal prep. If I pick up the groceries instead, Meal Prep Mondays. This has been so helpful. Cheers.

The biggest helpful reminder from this video was when you mentioned that you had a coach for your fitness competitions. It reminded me how important "body doubling" is for ADHD. I am self-employed and most of my work does not have a deadline, so I have such a hard time getting the tedious things done. It also helps in my personal life - fitness, house cleaning, etc. Thanks for the reminder.

I think this is one of the most useful ADHD video's I've ever watched. At not one millisecond did i feel even slightly put into a box I didn't like, and at every time I felt like I got real, good, actually tested and approved by you, tools and strategies. The planning out a set day for daily and weekly things is great, the asking "what's important", and, oh, the accepting of where I'm at (!), the not starting new things before what I've decided to do is put into action already, the having a wellness routine (!!). And probably more ❤️ oh yeah, thank you 😊🧡

Now that I'm on medication, I've learned I can "brain" again, be creative and focused again, but not two days in a row. Im trying to arrange my life (the parts I can control, anyway), so I can "brain" one day, then do less brain-heavy stuff the next, and set up a schedule, basically. Getting stuff done and moving forward every other day is infinitely better than no days. 😊

I can now find tailored solutions such as the solutions you are providing in this video, where as before I would try to implement neurotypical solutions and would inevitably fail which would continue the frustration and procrastination. Keep up the great work.

Maybe I'll just plan this out here:
    Monday: radio some weeks, studying
    Tidy up home
    Tuesday: studying
    Plants and laundry
    Wednesday: studying, study-group
Bathroom and entrance OR DnD (split every 2nd week)
Thursday: study out to get stuff done, lunch date (w me or other(s))
Ease out, chill, no tasks, maybe offline
    Friday: Study
    Social stuff or self-time
Saturday: perhaps leftover studying, but not after 12: 40
    Vacuuming, if home, otherwise Monday
Sunday: a quick planning of the week, and meal planning (not prep)
Outside for longer than normal, or go on a DATE 😊🧡
Perhaps (max 2 hours) of studying

      And wellness:
Less than 20 minutes (!!) of cardio and/or strength every day but Sunday
Can be switched for a run, can be up to 30 min.
      Meditation every day
      Conscious breathing every day
      Dance to music every day
      Evening meditation every day
      Air out often
See people every day/get out of the home 🥰❤️
      Go to bed at 22: 40 🥰❤️

Thank you for this video! I am frequently faced with 20+ tasks and projects that I have a very difficult time prioritizing. I have learned to track them and keep them "on my plate" all the time, and I recently loaded these tasks into an LLM and it actually helped me prioritize them based upon organizational impact and my job/role, which helped me prioritize because of course, executive function is weak with us. I'm not used to asking my bosses/leadership for help with prioritizing (not sure honestly I would get the help, they also seem overwhelmed), but using an LLM helped a little. This is important but not urgent stuff though. Urgent tasks are easy to complete for me (avoid a crisis/damage), but non-urgent important is very difficult for me to prioritize.

Good video, I've just subscribed. I've achieved big academic goals such as a degree, learning 3 languages to a professional level, a professional postgrad qualification for my previous career which was absolutely grueling, and a distinction in a college course for my new career. My issue has been not knowing how to transfer my study skills to be successful in work/business. I also think in some ways it was easier to be successful 10-20 years ago due to the lack of distractions. A lot of modern day success is about being disciplined not to watch reels, shorts, TH-cam all day. I'm going to check out Notion now, I keep hearing people mention it.

I really struggle with prioritizing what's really most important - not what I think is most important. I'm the sole bread winner in my family - and I'm an online creator. I'm pulled in so many directions, it is hard for me to stop and say - what are the things that are going to make a BIG difference in moving my business forward instead of making me feel 'busy' when that productivity is a lie. I'm a huge procrasti-learner (YT is my vice more than courses), and my FOMO of what to drop to give myself space to actually work in the space I need to work on is really my hardest thing right now. That and the inevitable time suck that is YT when you can't get out of the hyper-focus. I just found your channel not long ago, so I'm trying to watch judiciously and not get lost, but I find myself relating a lot! I'm newly diagnosed ADHD (though have known it for a while), so learning to manage it on top of everything is now a thing, too.

This was very helpful! I recently got diagnosed….I listed down the stuff from this I want to implement. I hope I can do it. Lollll. I do have issues when it comes to lack of urgency and finding motivation. Before I graduated high school, I had a sense of structure and someone to answer to and a social structure. Morning to afternoon, school. Night, at home or with friends or, there was always something in that time frame. Mom was also scary, so it was motivation enough 😂😂😂 but both my parents have passed away for a while now (mom’s been 6yrs), so it’s like there’s no one to be scared of lol. and it’s also gonna be close to a decade I have been to the US and feel like I can’t adjust OTL so it’s like. I’m already late 20s and still don’t know what I wanna pursue for longevity or I don’t know ugh >_

How do you start a routine when you aren't in motion for it?
Like an example is let's say I wanted to wash my hair every two days. How would you do that? Because at day two it's not actually dirty yet so there's no motivation yet but by day 3 it's not a good look.
How would you implement a routine when you have no motivation and you aren't in motion?

Hi Caren. Thank you so much for the great content! I'm really resonating with the procasta-learner thats so totally me - I currently have more than 10 courses open that I still intend to finish and I'm mid way through signing up for another course (I started the sign up 2 days ago but got distracted)!
I'd really like an accountability series if possible. I'm thinking a video with 3 tips to overcome an adhd issue (perhaps with a worksheet), viewers choose a tip to implement and use the comments section to commit to action it for the next 2 weeks, stating why its important to them and what change they are hoping to achieve. Viewers can then come back to the video and reply to their comments each day stating whether they achieved the aim or not for that day and also give and receive motivation from others. It would create a community space around the video and support the actioning of the advice. You'd also get lots of comments on the videos which would help get the advice seen by more people. 😊

Hi Caren i just discovered you and this is a amazing video i subscribed and also i want to tell you something.
I am currently working on a huge personal project to manage my ADHD with technology.
And i did not know what i got myself into because it is a endless amount of learning and because of that it is killing my good habits.
My plan is to make my own AI that can buy things from the internet to deliver food & essential things for living,
A real time Text to speech that tells me when to anything like taking out the trash.

When I was productive the thing that helped was having someone do all the day-to-day tasks for me. The housework and cooking really weigh on me and suck up so much of my time, and the place is still a mess. I can’t keep up with entropy.
No matter how many times I explain it to my cats, they steadfastly refuse to help me with the housework.

Deadlines help, but more often than not, they become a check-in point to see if you really value the goal enough to continue. The majority of the time, I do not. Is there a solution to that problem, where even successfully completing a valued project yields no motivation to select new projects? The cognitive overload in prioritizing IS the overwhelm....
