Keeps hitting the rev limiter; he wanted to go faster! I love the sound of the engine winding out. Imagine doing this for real, but with a bunch of hungry wolves right on your butt, and about 40mph faster?
I did a ride at Charlotte in 96 when my son went there to drive at the Petty Experience. An ARCA driver whose name I unfortunately cannot recall did the driving. 165 mph on a bumpy track. We were out there with another car and they were dicing. The car was a Michael Waltrip Pontiac and was very uncomfortable because the cockpit bars had not been modified for a passenger. My son hit 155 mph during his 30 laps. He was only 18 years old. A couple years later my wife and I were at the now defunct track at Disney and we both did a ride. We were the very first ones in the morning and they were warming up the cars so they gave my wife a ton of free laps at 3/4 speed before busting it loose. Yes, I'm surprised also at the lack of safety equipment for the passenger. Also surprised their insurance carrier allows it.
I'm the one who built the 1977 Ford LTD into a dirt track racer. I took my cousin Jeraldine's husband Bill for a ride in a race since we can have 1 passenger with us for those who's cars are equipped for that. The other drivers beat the crap out of the driver side of my car spinning me out infront of the entire pack of about 20 cars when I was taking the lead. I got hit by about 6 cars but kept on going working the pedals and the wheel. Bill was scared out of his wits but I stayed calm. Managed to work my way back up the field to finish 8th but didn't qualify for the feature that day but still it was fun. Bill wont ever ride in a race again but he said he'd sit in the stands watching the race. Lo6
I did this in Vegas about 7 or 8 years ago. Even thought I was stoked and raced karts competitively, I was not prepared for the immediate change in track angle at turn 1. My equilibrium took an instantaneous dump and I spent the remainder of the session trying recover and not to toss my cookies.
These cars only do 130 mph at 6300 rpms. I was a driver for three different experiences and all was same a 604 crate motor which is a 430 hp vortec 350 aluminum heads that pro late models run at 7600 rpms not 6300 is why he hit rev limiter so easy. So if tbis made you sick you couldn't race pro late models on asphalt and not even near as fast as a pro latemodel
I took a ride two Saturdays ago on the Charlotte Motor Speedway Track and is saw and a amazing experience. If you ever get a chance to do it ride with a driver then take the drive. 🏁
He would love to go 200 miles and hour. They have the cars governed down to around 175 , that ride you took , ever so often did you hear the interruption in the sound f the engine, well that’s called a rev limiter , and it intermittently cuts electric power to the spark plugs, thus lowers the rpms and in return slows the over all speed, nice 👍 love it thanks BigAl California.
I drove for three of these racing experiences a driver giving ride alongs for years when I was 19 to 23 years old. They all top out at 135-145 they lie and tell you 170. Rev limiter is set to 6300 rpms with a 450 hp pro late model motor. Cars you drive only go 110 mph with a 340 hp to crank steel block abd heads vortec 350 called 602 crate motors
@@youknoweverything7643 Legit a rip off. Like you have to pay so much to drive the cars and you have to sign a liability thing if you crash it. I think if you have to do that they should let people let em rip. It's a scam if it's only 110.

I'm from Australia and never ever did I understand the attraction to nascar racing... just going around in circles??? Holy Fk!!! Does this put it in a new perspective... they're going flat chat, maxing out in top gear... insane how fast they're going.
I think I heard the driver say they'll get up to 170mph. To think, back in the late 80's, Bill Elliott went around this track at 213 miles per hour, qualifying for the Winston 500. Then there's the story, when Rusty Wallace, while testing a car without a restrictor plate in the mid 2000's, hit 240 miles per hour. As Rusty put it, "when the car's front end starting lifting, I knew that was fast enough".
Who is driving? Reminds me of those jet pilots that calmly talk through the tough maneuvers while the passenger in the back seat struggles to stay awake.
She's screaming and yelling, hootin' and hollerin', and we couldn't hear a damn word of it. lol The Europeans loved the thunder of American V8 power when NASCAR's Camaro went to 24 hours of Le Mans last year.
I took a ride along at Walt disneyworld speedway when the track was still there, when the ride was over I was reaching in my pocket for another 100 dollars, what a rush
Wow that was cool n I was watching out the window n man it dosent look fast but in the car it's like being in rocket on wheels. It takes a lit of skill to do that n people dont realize how fat those cars are going. Wow!!!!
That driver made it look easy to drive a NASCAR CUP car but it's not I'm sure. I did drive a 1977 Ford LTD I stripped and built into a dirt oval track Junk Car racer for a few years.. It was hard but really fun. I want to build and race another car.

@Mason George As a track owner for quite a few years its not a risk I would take . They are going plenty fast enough for something to happen. A signed waiver can easily be overcome if there is even a hint of negligence on behalf of the track owner. Not requiring proper safety equipment could easily cause issues in case of a law suite. Those big tracks got deep pockets that most smaller tracks don't have.

I did this at Kentucky speedway. WHERE IS HER FIRE SUIT

I know. I was being sarcastic. She is wearing next to zero protective equipment.

I wonder what the max speed is for these rice alongs?
160-170, all the cars have rev limiters.
Where are the HANZ devices???
So cool to woman enjoy cars too.
What is the price of the run around the track and how do you sign up for it
Groupon has tickets
