- Today I’m driving through East Cleveland , Ohio , the most poverty stricken city in Ohio , also the most dangerous small city in Ohio. East Cleveland started as a trading post in 1895 and became a city in 1911. The world’s first industrial park , Nela Park , was built here by the company General Electric. Major gentrification is currently taking place throughout the city and it’s really great to see.
How about teaching youngsters in EC high school home repair, plumbing and carpentry. Then when they graduate you give them one of them busted-up empty houses for free. They fix it, family can move in, they go to Home Depot and buy paint and siding (helping the local economy also) to make the house beautiful and take pride in their city. Then BOOM, no more empty houses and home ownership goes up.
But that takes time away from "gender studies". The educational system is no longer about education - it's about indoctrination.
The hood people would mess it up - for sure .
There's no hope for kids growing up in the hood. No daddy around and uneducated mom's. Waste of time. They're minds are already poisoned by the age of 3.
Yeah right 😂
You can buy these for as little as $1, but the red tape will cost you more than the value of the property, they make it (D)ifficult!!
4 like very nice video hello brother Destekteyim 🎁🔔🎁🤝🙋🏻♀️👍 17:01
I'd be afraid to go down these roads.
There's no point in saving neighborhoods where the locals lower the quality of life.
so keep the gentrifiers out?
@@thundorkat if they want to waste time and money, that's fine with me.
Free country after all.
Hell, the wrecking crew is already pushed out to the inner ring suburbs and further. Just look at Euclid, Wickliffe and South Euclid, etc.
The U.S. Army took me away from the Cleveland area in 1968 and I can say it was the best thing that ever happened to me . I have lived the the Southern states ever since and would never go back!
Good for you!!

A new meaning to ruined places folks 😮😮
What we need these days is respect
🫡 and religion folks😊
nice beautiful unique homes, back in the day, lots of memories of family's growing up there. things are always changing.
I love how nice and green it is there.
Gee, I wonder what went wrong here.🤔🤔🙄

This place makes Camden nj look like a ghost 👻 town
Bro 😮east club Ohio make a great place for a prison colony 😮
The people living between the rubbish is very nice, most people there suffer from mental health problems, other are the children from the people, other just st cannot afford to live elsewhere, the ones who work mostly work low paying jobs at burger joints as an example, this is a very large area, several square miles, it is a whole entire city, literally, what you see there is jus a fraction of the reality, some streets there are not apt for a car to go through because of the deterioration.
I hate to say it but even Camden nj make s this place to like a car 🚙 dealer ship these days folks😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Give me some shelter 😎 👊 brother but in another town please , far away from this place of course 😮
Where is Bill Kapp Piano? They are amazingly still there.
I heard the road 🛣️ conditions were pretty rough there folks😮😮
Too many abandoned houses and shop....,looking fresh nature
Parts of East Cleveland look like some B-52's flew over it and went to work.
This place makes Camden nj look like a ghost 👻 town
Bro 😮
This place reminds me of Benton harbor m Michigan 😮
And that’s the whole truth folks so help me god 😮
not sure this meets the "major gentrification" definition
There's definitely no gentrification going on in East Cleveland. I can assure you of that...even in today's housing market. 😆
@@erocker78 looks like it did when i moved there as a 10/yo in 1973 and hasn't changed since i left in 1985 as a college grad.
@user-eu8pe5jy2t I moved to the Cleveland area 11 years ago. I've lived in South Euclid since 2018. I usually try to avoid EC. Just driving down Euclid Ave puts me on defense. They may have knocked down them old apartments on Chapman Ave, which is great, but I don't think there are a lot of people with money who are looking to invest it there. I personally wouldn't. 😆
Many abandoned buildings have been demolished and new construction is taking place
@City2CityUSA respectfully, I didn't much of anything new being built other than what looked to be some new apartment homes which will probably be "affordable housing". Demolition is good as I mentioned before. EC has a very long way to go though. A VERY long way.
