I am kind of new here. So glad I found your videos. I love history. So much good stuff. I fall asleep listening and have to backtrack later. Thank you for doing this. It's simply wonderful.
@@jenniferglynn4986 yes, in the dream when o saw the light i felt a sensation of love, relief and freedom, i woke up with tears in my eyes. but it was just a dream.
Even as a historian, your presentation on Sigimund is a blank in my education on Eastern Medieval history. Thank you. You gave me ideas of where t great for research in salty on it. I’m a historian of religion as my specialty and often take Western Civ too get in touch w/ freshman. Since they think I don’t notice they’re “missing” from a 200+ lecture, I am going to recommend your presentations so they at least get the larger historical events to match the philosophy. Your site helps me sleep too. I lay down and theory & journal/books ideas or connections “Ahhas!” Keep me in logic mind. Listening to the eras/historical figures that I could recite from memory gives my brain a focus & I sleep. I admit Sigismund and that part of the world woke me up since it’s an area I am personally missing in n my academic journey. I have reference points now to understand for my own fascination w/ that time/part of Europe. Thank you! P support soon! Keeping going ☮️
Thank you for these videos. I have a way easier time sleeping whilst listening to this. Especially now that I’m sick and get coughing fits unless I’m focusing on something
Beween the videos I am slowly getting my nid force done, considering mechanicus. Want to do some AoS too, nighthaunts mainly, see how time permits. Glad to see someone else into the hobby.
Youre almost at 10k thats awesome. Gone up a lot in the last couple weeks. Its not a coincidence, your work has never slacked in quality and certainly not in consistency 👍
Been lurking for a while. You have some REALLY good content. ASMR tingles + a free education better than you can find in universities these days. Subbed. Thank you for what you do. I know how much work it is... Tiwaz rune ftw
Oh the things we are randomly learning as we wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom or wake up in the morning and realize that you really are interested and want to turn up the sound and you've decided that going back to sleep is not as desirable as going on to learn about the poll tax
I love these, but I wish the background video wasn't so bright. I play these videos on my tv to fall asleep, and even though I turn the Brightness all the way down it's still a problem.
Love these videos to go to sleep. But why not a black screen? I find myself wondering what the brush and roses and the little stones are for and focusing on that. I’ve read comments to see what it was about because it’s the same in every video but looks like I’m the only one who is wondering about this
I’m just can’t thank you enough for your hard work and dedication to your channel, and therefore, your subscribers. The quality AND quantity of your content is SO superior to anything else I’ve ever found on ANY platform, period. And, it’s not even close. I’m not sure if you’re familiar with the works of Will Durrant, and then later volumes are a tandem effort with his wife, Ariel Durrant? He wrote the series: “The Story of Civilization” an 11 part series, among many other writings. Your work reminds me of his, as you don’t just focus on names and dates, but try to tell the story of the time, and bringing the characters to life. I’d also like to let you know how appreciative I am by your unbiased storytelling of our shared history. In a world that is rife with an anti-Western narrative, I’m very grateful that you’ve not followed the same path. That said, you’re also not an apologist for the West, and freely speak to those stories that represent the oppression and cruelty that our civilization has participated in, without making excuses, while also pointing out times when the criticisms were perhaps more propaganda than fact. Your knowledge of Eastern topics is evident and I always learn something new. Every human being is a man or woman “of their time”; and none of us alive today can even begin to comprehend the world of so many yesterdays ago. In my opinion, it’s one of our fatal flaws in our society today. By failing to recognize that all of human history has proven to be a gradual process of improvement and moral evolution and development, of course with hills and valleys, ups and downs, and progress and regression along the way. We have but two choices; we can lament the past and cancel any historical figure that doesn’t align with present day values, or we can accept that the ONLY way in which civilization advances is to learn from the past and to be vigilant in protecting our history. To paraphrase the great Dr. Thomas Sowell: “History is the study of what happened in the past. Not what we wish would have happened, not what we feel should have happened in a more ‘just’ world. History is what actually happened. Period.” I think it’s SO dangerous to try to use propaganda and political ideology to re-write any history. We can only learn from the past and honestly move toward real progress if we are examining actual blueprints tried by those who came before. Anyway, I’m sorry for my babbling, but I just wanted to let you know how very grateful I am to have found your channel about 6 months ago. I’ve come to think of you as a treasured friend, who spends so much time and effort enriching the lives of others!
Thanks so much for taking the time to write your thoughts. I am familiar with Durants work but only on a surface level, I should take a deeper look into it. Do not apologize for babbling, start a youtube channel like I did, people might like it.
I use centimeters as a physician but I found the comment converting inches to centimeters for those living in civilized countries divisive and unnecessary. First and last visit here.
How is that creepy, affected voice supposed to get me to sleep? It has me checking the closets and under the bed every five minutes. Just talk regular, man.
Love the content, but while you apologised for potentially mispronouncing Welsh names in the recitation of the history of Edward Longshanks, you butcher almost every Scottish place name and many personal names. Unfortunately it was enough to spoil my normal enjoyment of the video, although I managed to tough it out until the next segment came along.
Check out the playlists for more long videos.

Thanks fellow history major, and welcome.
THIS IS AMAZING!!!! thank you for putting no ads too- it’s so much more relaxing without having loud disruptions you have a new loyal subscriber 🫡
Always used history as a sleeping pod. Gives me comfort and joy. And here's one made for sleep? I'll take it

I try my hardest to dream about being in the battles of medieval Europe through sleeping while watching this
Hope the dreams are nice mate.
I swear I thought I was the only 1 that did that LOL
I dreamed that once, thick of battle swords, shields, spears, carnage, then i died and saw a bright golden light and woke up

I figure its better to have something rather than nothing, a small percentage of people actually watch the visual part, most are just listening.
