Before a 5k race day in cross country, we would do a 2 mile warm up, and after the 5k, a 2 mile cool down. So at the Nick BARE minimum you should probably do a 1 mile cool down after 100 because GO ONE MORE 😅🤣
Oh Jesus christ, ive just watched the pack list. Nick - have a look at joss naylor, legendary English fell runner. You don't need even a quarter of the stuff you've got. Running is pure and simple. That's the appeal. You put in your shoes, take the backpack you've had since school and off you go. You don't need even half the stuff you've bought
so excited for you to do this ultra!!!! I believe in you!! and you are clearly prepared for all variables and potential curveballs that could come your way.
Good luck Nick I just finished a Leadville 100 mountain bike I hope you do fantastic I also met the guy who sold you the hypoxic system for your house you’re going to enjoy it but it’s gonna be tough as all get out
Just eat healthy man. Food over supplements. Make some green juice, have some fruit smoothies, and eat plenty of starchy vegetables and you’ll be as healthy as can be.
Watching him do some of these runs, meanwhile i'm experiencing post vasectomy pain and not having done much of anything the past few months... it sucks.
Love watching your vídeos and wish you the best of luck but alot of what you had as gear you will not even use. I would have headed out to Leadville at least 3 weeks before the race and finish some of the training up their for climatization. If your up for it come down to Nicaragua for some some of the hardest trail races in Central America. All I can say is enjoy every second of it this will change everything on how you will train for your next ultra.
I feel like these races should have a maximum cut off on the money you spend on gear.. most people who race cannot afford 3 head lamps, two sets of walking sticks, 3 vest, 200 pair of shoes... etc Its a bit over the top. I do wonder if all of these things will crutch him or help him tho. Theres something special about who go minimalist, less things to think about and frees the mind on the goal and having fun.
Similar to what happened to triathlon, I just think this is the natural progression of any trendy sport or hobby. Over competitive Wealthy people will try to gain any advantage they can in life with money.
I have the 945 works perfect for everything, I say the fenix is if you want more rugged and if you want to be able to control the battery life a little more
@@JamesBlackman I have the Fenix 6, my husband has the 945. We use them for Ironman, his hold a battery a lot better then mine does. However, I have a lot more options and love the look of it. Can’t go wrong with either one.
Thank you Helix for sponsoring this video! Visit www.helixsleep.com/nickbare to get up to $200 off you Helix mattress, plus two free pillows.
So you have to do 101 miles. Cross the finish line and Go 1 more right! 🤷🏼♂️😉
1 mile cool down 😂

@@TyDawson3464 Yeah I remember those warm ups and cool downs in high school. I don't do those anymore lol
Damn.. thats deep
If he does this David Goggins will have to run another 100 lol
Good luck man, I completed my first 50 miler this past saturday because of you.
Never understand why anyone would want to live this kind of life
@@rileyfreeman7122 I don't understand either
Nick “I’m taking a suitcase full of gear”
Courtney dauwalter “I just need my basketball shorts”
Basketball shorts and some M&M's lol
@@Kayjokayjo don't forget the nachos :D
Appreciate how you share some of your gear, please keep that up. I’d like to know some more of the shorts and shoes you wear, like some of the styles
I love the organization and coordination that Nick always puts into his races.

Was reading david goggins book tip he gave for ultra run. Cut a hole on side of shoe where big toe is to allow more more prevent blisters
You don't give a shit about blisters when running ultras, at least I don't.
Good luck! Great choice on the SPG4.
Good luck Nick. #GO100
You guys can use that! 😉💪

Great shoe choice considering his weight. Hope the speedgoat4 alleviates the pressure on the feet during the 100mile run.
really missed Nick holding the camera!
Good luck Nick! Just crewed a friend at Eastern States 100. Such an amazing human feat!
good luck nick, we all know youll smash it
I really hope you get David Goggins in one of your videos one day
That would be... amazing...
Motivational words at the beginning!
What you said about variation hit different! Good luck out there!
Good luck nick. Waiting to see the next video of your run at Leadville. 1👍

I feel like just yesterday he told us about Leadville 😂😂
Been looking forward to this series!
The beginning of this video made me want to try the strong greens and vitamins. So I ordered them and I can’t wait to try them.

Good Luck. I need to look into BPN to see how it can help me get back into shape.
Good luck on your 100 mile marathon Nick!
Best of luck, my dude. Remember: it gets coooold up there.
Fantastic advice! Well said and good luck next week! 🌟💪🏻
When your per minute 4 mile time is slower than Nick's 10 mile pace :(
I feel that. I’m averaging 10:44 😂
Gotta start somewhere brother!

Yes
Go get after it at Leadville! You should have a meet and great in Wash Park Denver! I'd love to meet you and your team!

2 min ad. @5:00 why do we pay for premium again YT??
PS didnt see any anti chaffing cream hope you have some. Squirrels nut butter, glide something and desitine is great for wet feet
Solid advice, be consistent.
Leadville tries to take your soul. Win, do not give in to the difficulty that is that beast of a race. You can do this
that morning stack is ~150 a month, is there a package deal? i'd love to take all of those, but..

Stop wasting your money on useless s**t. Be smart.
Man good look for your race, I know how difficult it is to run 50k never mind 100miles. 👍👌💪
Or a 10 k for some of us….

Get some cold weather gear for sure. Suppose to be mid-30s overnight and it can be hard to stay warm later in the race after dark. Good luck!

For those thinking of running 100 miler one day. You don’t need half of nicks gear and set up. It’s not Everest people
