Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I'm your host Paul and this video we're breaking down House Of The Dragon.

The teaser trailer for episode 7 is now here and in this video we're gonna be going through it all. This video will contain heavy spoilers for the book and also what we think will happen in the story. Now the trailer picks up where we left things off in episode 6. That had Seasmoke being spotted with a rider and Rhaenyra riding out to meet them. This meeting is where it seems like we're starting off the episode with Dragon facing down against Dragon. I'm guessing that this is happening out at driftmark with it going down at a sandy beach. Addam first spotted Seasmoke at one and episode 6 had the pair coming face to face here.
Rhaenyra asks what he wants and I think that it's gonna be titles and riches.
In episode 6 when he was speaking to Alyn he was saying things about stepping into royalty. Thats sort of the way things go in the book with Addam being given it in a more official capacity. This show down doesn't happen in the work and instead Addam gets invited in.

I’d be interested to hear how you think this season will end . I think this will be 4 seasons .. they seem to be stretching this out if that’s the case . They need to do a little time jump again for the demon egon fight right? I’m just not sure how they’ll end this . What are your thoughts?

I think Daemon comes to realize that he was never made for wearing the crown. He IS impulsive, violent, and proud. He would never make a great ruler, but he is a perfect as the enforcer/muscle backing the throne. He accepts this role, and this is something Aemond is never able to accept

@@shoaibaliali2570 how many months is that? between season 1 and 2 it was almost 2 years of waiting, and knowing the amount of things that happend in the books and in th "dance of dragons" they are dragging a lot of events I believe they are afraid of running out of source material just like GOT and that is why they are delaying way too much , I want to see them now :C

Personally I'm intrigued how they will pull it off but I know a lot of book readers are upset because Nettle's is a beloved character by many so to have her completely cut out I'm not sure what that's gonna do to the storyline. I believe in the books she is integral to the story, people are confused about her relationship with Daemon. Whether he is her mentor only, her lover, or she is a bastard child of his as she has dark hair and skin but can ride a dragon. Rhaenyra I've been told wants her dead so I'm curious how they are gonna do the story, I mean I know the maesters are unreliable narrators but I just don't see them being able to pull it off without pissing a lot of fans off. I mean you can't please everyone but GOT especially the last season pissed off the core fan base so many have been hoping this doesn't happen with HOTD. But hey I don't know enough about it maybe George intended it to be Rhaena in disguise for some reason 🤷♀
I am saying honestly that I like the change cause that means that Rhaena will have bigger part in the story ,
I haven't read any books, just been watching the series so I'm guessing Rhaena will finally claim a dragon in Sheepstealer and they'll swoop in the final battle and be the ones who kill Daemon and Vhagar and avenge her grandmother's death. I'm guessing this will be different from what's in the books.

I hope I'm wrong but this season seems a lot slower than the first maybe it's because of the amounts of time skips in the first season hopefully the pace will pick up.

Just one thing going all the way back to how this whole conflict started: Where the hell was the moon tea when Rhaenyra was getting knocked up by Harwin Strong? Everyone just conveniently forgot that was an option? And I like Daemon's Harrenhal arc. I think it lets us into his psyche so we know the character in ways we otherwise never would. He's such a closed book that if we didn't get to see him on weirwood shrooms we we wouldn't know anything about his real motives at all.

I personally really like the visions Daemon is having because it adds depth and story to his time at Harrenhal that isn’t mentioned in the books. Plus, I like the inclusion of subtle magic that is all over the books but was lacking from the show.
Same, we wouldn't know anything going on with him if we didn't have his weirwood dreams to show us his inner life. And he had this reckoning coming to him for a long time.

It's bringing him as a human full circle, not just as a character. Everyone has regrets and things that hurt us through life that we all need to work through at some point. Deamon has A LOT to atone for so his dark night of the soul is on an extended tour for the moment lol😂
@@leahcimwerdna5209Not really maybe closer to like 6 months? But most of that isn't him just chilling there. Daemon goes to Harrenhall pretty early on and captures it without bloodshed like in the show. At the same time is when Aemond kills Luke. At the same time the Riverlands kind of goes into civil war but he pretty quickly rounds them all up and takes them under his control for Rhaenrya. Then rooks rest happens and there are other skirmishes around the riverlands and it goes to the whole honeywine and fishfeed stuff and he ultimately dips to help sack kings landing when Cole and Aemond lead a force to Harrenhall. The whole dance is like a 1 year period and 2 if you include the hour of the wolf and its aftermath and what not. We have only gone through like 6.25 and probably end the season with 7-7.5 of the 30 or so major plot points or the dance and its aftermath. Season 1 went through 4 of them in 2 episodes lol which is why people are kind of saying that this season is a bit of a slog. I don't mind the added stuff or some minor changes to suit a different medium but it really seems like they are trying to draw the show out to like 5+ seasons with the aftermath when it should be like 4 tops.
The taint of bastardy is going to be my next gamertag.
Let's hope they're not giving ALLLL of Nettles moments to Rhaena.......

Jace is the one who suggested using Dragonseeds to Rhaenyra, so it's weird they're going in the direction of him now, not liking the idea. Ugh idk some of the choices this season are questionable.
I think he feels slighted that the Seasmoke sought out his rider. Most dragons are claimed by Targaryens by birthright.

For what it's worth, Alicent entering that lake reminded me of Ophelia's drowning.
Hightowers are an ancient trading family and it was rumored that they intermingled a lot with dragon families. But also since the Hightowers have been a lomg resident powerful family, she might have some weirwood relations.
Season 1 had awesome pacing, if not a little bit too fast.

Altough I like a lot where House of dragon is going, I feel that the showrunners, writers, etc, are afraid of running out of source material just like GOT, there are a lot of events that happend in the span of days in the book, many battles and betrayals, yet HOTD feels that is slowing down its pace just so they can extend more seasons and episodes, meaning more money, I guess is what we have now. Honestly is a great show I would love to see more interesting plotpoints but we are stuck with many dull moments that dont really add up much in the longrun

Even though Raena will claim sheepstealer, I hope he survives the dance the way he does in the book and isn’t killed at the dragon pit. The fact nettles claimed him is a key reason he survived, since she flew away with him.

The ending of the boys season 4 was the best episode in the entire series in my opinion. And in HotD I think they are hinting that Aemond and Daemon will both fight and they want us to connect with Daemon more so that it will be more impactful

As a book reader I’m a little upset that they aren’t going to do nettles. It’s hard to give rhaena the nettles story considering where nettles and daemon’s story ends in the book…..
I think a lot of us expected Rhaenyra this season to come out wanting blood…as the show damn well implied…but instead she is relegated to “helpless female.” Daemon was ready to spill blood, but was vilified and now is weakened with being haunted and bewitched all season in a haunted castle. There have been some intriguing scenes, but overall the season has been a bit of a disappointment.
