Nice location for your video! And yes, it is a little coffin like…!
You can borrow it anytime you want 😉
Having used several bivvies, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts post usage!😏
Hopefully my next video will be a wild camp video using the Salamanda bivi, thanks for watching 😊
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. 👍5
Thank you 😊
Where did you get it from. Everywhere i look is out of stock?
I picked it up second hand on ebay, just had a look and currently one on Ebay at a decent price for now 👍
@@StuartThow thanks. 👍
Forgot to mention I used a 35 litre alpkit Airlok extra dry bag to store the bulky stuff outside the bivy which I don’t need during the night.
That's a good idea for keeping the rest of my stuff dry, thanks for watching 👍
Was gonna get this. Then realised I’d have no where to put my boots and rather not bring my sheep Sh!t covered boots in with me XD. So I need a little tarp outside.
Yes deffo need a tarp or maybe a large dry bag to stick everything in.
Nice location for your video!
Thank you 😊
Get a tent!
😂😂😂
I’ve looked at that bivvy but the weight just puts me off. Also, In Scotland, we really don’t need to worry as much about being stealth. Look forward to seeing you out in that
Yeah it is quite heavy for a Bivi but can't wait to get out and test it properly. Thanks for watching mate, really appreciate it 😊
Nice review Stu. Presumably all that black area is mesh. The hooped bivy is a game changer, not least for preventing slugs having relay races on your face🤣. I like (so far) the Elan as it is low profile and has mesh in front of and behind your head. This gives good ventilation. The side zip also makes for easy entry/exit. With a side zip it’s way easier to get up for a pee. You don’t have to leave your bag. I recommend using a small tarp to deflect weather and give you a sheltered cooking area look forward to seeing you out in your bivy. Atb
Yeah all the black bits are mesh, so as long as its a dry evening it should have a decent amount of ventilation, do like the look of the Elan though ... I keep looking on Ebay to see if any bargains appear.
Will deffo look at using a tarp though for some extra protection while cooking
Replace the pegs to get the weight down, they are bobbins. If you pitch the head into the wind and leave the zip open a little you'll have no condensation problems, especially with a buff over the face. I got mine for 70 quid and love it
Good to hear you like it, I can't wait to get out with it and test it properly in the hills. Do you use a tarp with yours for a bit of shelter while cooking or do you not bother?
