I was also impressed with this episode. The animation made it seem like a final war of the strongest. I would have to say this has been the best episode in terms of fight scenes and animation of OP so far. Superb animation.
For Luffy v. Kaido, I'd say give it a few more weeks, since those of you who know, know. Then it'll be time to react, because from the rumors I hear it's going to be on par or better with the animation for the fights so far. But great job as always guys, keep up the great work, and can't wait for you to see and revisit the key points of the story we all love.

Finally read chapter 1035 last night (this fight the episode focuses on, basically,) so I knew I had to see what this reaction was like 4 months ago. Damn, dude, Toei once again is going all out crazy nuts with hyping up an already huge hype moment in the manga. Though I'm not so impressed with the sound effects. Probably because I'm not hearing them directly like you are. Honestly, I feel like I've heard these sound effects so often in the One Piece anime, that they're just not a big deal to me anymore. But the animation itself is something else entirely. And yeah, gotta say, I think King might be my favorite of Kaido's underlings. Love his design, love his powers, love his whole cool, tough attitude. And his whole backstory from what I've seen so far sounds like an interesting mystery to dig deeper into. Kinda makes me wish I could be King's race in our DnD game. lol But man, they went and made him more like Sephiroth from FF7 than he already was. Black clothes, big wings, big-ass sword, and huge JRPG final boss attacks. Tell me I'm wrong. And of course, shoutout to my favorite anime swordsman: Roronoa "King of Hell" Zoro. Right hand man of the new King of the Pirates, and the man who will be the greatest swordsman in the world. Dude's reaching light levels of Dragon Ball strength here if flexing his muscles with a sword swing can create huge shock waves that tear apart the landscape.

But Zoro has non of that, he is just a dude, no special characteristics to make him stronger.
