Yeah, I’m a music teacher and singer, and have been facing vocal tension for years. I believe this can change, I’ve just yet to find what will reverse this. (Showers, warm drinks, and SOVT straw exercises are somewhat helpful). I believe there is a physical component with technique, over usage, posture, diet, possible silent reflux, etc… and I think there is an emotional component, as well. I’m currently trying to find a medical hypnotist, because I think it’s mostly a neurological thing for me. Has anyone had experience with this?

I have tried To talk more like I sing and it definitely helps but it’s hard because I have to concentrate to do it. Thank you for this video!
I experienced the same thing years ago when I sang classically as well. I wonder if it’s because we are so used to having such strong and powerful head voices but not as equally strong chest voices which is where our natural speaking voices like to live causing an imbalance. Perhaps it’s from using these different head voice dominant muscles, ligaments and cartilages like the cricothyroid muscle (CA) vs our chest voice dominant ones that create this imbalance and for some of us sopranos cause hoarseness in our speech. This is my educated guess on the science behind it. So the solution is: strengthen your chest voice like a Spartan to balance everything out. I did that and I hardly ever (knock on wood) ever experience this hoarseness hell ever anymore. This is what worked for me Tokki, maybe it can for you? I’d love to hear Katarina’s thoughts on my theory. However, I no longer sing classically anymore unfortunately but I sing my own music instead.

And using a pressurised voice is also OK or it may damage my voice? , I am also following and practising your tips and exercises regularly,, Thanks in advance.
The question is if the sound you are making is sustainable for the work you do. If you use that sound occasionally and you have time to rest your voice, it may be ok. if you are going to use that sound for prolonged periods of time, maybe you need to change something. I would focus on the amount of muscle effort you are using when making the sound. Can you make the same sound using less effort? Can you anchor more in the body to release tension from the throat? Can you open your throat more to counteract the constriction?
I been struggling with this problem for 3 years , i have no idea how do I slove this issue U seems only hope What ever u saying it's all I feeling everyday

That's the sign that there is too much muscle effort and impact on the vocal folds. Have you had your voice seen by a laryngologist?
Hello ma’am as I told before I am a ventriloquist and I need to make a pressurised voice by lifting up the larynx and lowering the soft pallet for my puppet’s voice without moving my lips… the problem is, not every time but sometimes it happens that my throat feels tight and strained after a little practice ,,, is it ok ? And using a pressurised voice is also OK or it may damage my voice? , I am also following and practising your tips and exercises regularly,,
Thanks in advance.
@@healthyvoicetips this is great I have got my answer.. Thank you so much ma’am ❤️
Are vocalzone and similar lozenges beneficial to the voice?

Have you had your voice evaluated by a laryngologist? Start there. There are things you can do to release tension. Once you know how your voice functions and what it looks like, you can then take the next steps.
While i speak my throat get pain and voice break... ... Should i do operation?
Have you seen a laryngologist for a voice assessment?
Keep growing 🤌✨🤍
Thank you! I am working on it.
Madam
After continuous practice of straw exercises, I am slowly recovering from my whispering voice and gradually increased my voice sound. kindly let me know how to sustain it.
Keep up the good work. Voice work takes time. Also, I recommend that you work with a voice therapist who can guide you through this process.
Thank you madam for your immediate response. Please guide me further.

I am sorry to hear that you are dealing with throat issues. But there is help. There are many things that can release throat tension. My channel has videos on these topics and I also recommend that you work with a voice therapist to help you release the tension.
They say I have voice spasms when I speak
That is possible.
I’m not a singer, but I have always had a lot of tension in my neck and jaw and it has affected my social life to a great degree. It’s difficult to talk to people and make friends. It sucks. A lot. It’s like being strangled or my vocal cords getting crushed. I’ve always had a difficult time projecting my voice. And my voice isn’t grounded, it’s high pitched when I’m having these issues. Im glad I found you, not many people understand
Do you have difficulty swallowing? As well
Jesse, I am sorry to hear that you have been dealing with it. And I completely understand that you feel alone because there are not many people who speak about this. But what you are experiencing is absolutely legitimate. It is a physical problem that has solutions. Have you seen a laryngologist for a proper voice assessment?
Joe, if you have difficulty swallowing, definitely talk to your doctor. There may be tension related swallowing problems.
@@healthyvoicetips I can swallow a bit more, but still uncomfortable had got a ct scan on my throat and neck and they told me my left tonsil was inflamed but I went thru antibiotics and hasn’t really worked, also been dealing with neck stiffness
When I fast it gets worse
Is it because you may be dehydrated?
When I fast, my voice is better.
