Dave, is this the same for a 2014 GS 350 F sport? I need to replace the front rotors and pads and Midas and Lexus wanted $1,150 and $1,200 respectively and 3 hours in the process. Screw that. I have replaced brakes before so I know it's not rocket science and watching this video makes me want to do it myself and save about $700 bucks in the process. Thank you for making it.
    Jim

Well done! Thanks for this, I've watched probably half a dozen videos on GS350 brakes and yours seems by far the most thorough and knowledgeable.

Hi David, thank you very much for this video. If it is possible, would you mind tell me which brand you picked for the rotor, or you just used lexus parts.

Instead of beating directly on the rotor, I usually use a block of wood so the impact doesn't cause any issues. I am not sure it will, but I don't want to chance it. I rubber mallet also works well. If you are not getting new ones that is.

Great video, thanks. Nice to see someone repairing cars without wearing gloves.

Does putting the scredriver in between the pad and rotor damage the rotaor?

Huy Nguyen no. Also considering he replaced the rotor with a new one makes that a non concern

Do you bleed the lines when you are done?

Miguel Gonzalez no there is no need to bleed the lines only if you introduce air to the system

I just tried to take my calipers off and I could not get those bolts off.

Did you ever get them off? Sometimes I have to use a hammer to bang my socket or box wrench to break it free.

@@Brian-xu9di yeah I finally got it off by doing what you said. The more I work on my car the more I fall in love. Now I'm having an issue where my rotors keep warping. I'm not hard on my breaks at all. I think its the pads that I bought from r1 concept. I bought a pair of one piece rotors as well and a month later warped. So I bought the factory 2 piece rotors and 6 months later warped. I don't know if I'm not doing something right or what.

@@shaqwilliams3343 thats strange that u keep warping rotors. Have u tried OEM rotors? Maybe those will work better.

Before sliding the rotor back on, be sure to clean the hub area that the rotor fits against. Ensure there is no build-up of rust or corrosion of any kind. Use a wire brush. If there is anything in that area it could cause your rotor to fit slightly off causing uneven wear and warping. Just a thought. Hope you get your problem fixed. These are truly great cars!

@@bblair502 thanks for the tips. Yeah I switched back to the two piece rotors and haven't had any issues. I think my issue was my pads. All good now though.
