Daniel you rock! From playing impressive believable guitar on a keyboard to playing that synth part from the Who! You're a very good teacher too, one who can break down techno-speak into basic easy to follow English. I appreciate your efforts sir.
Just got a used one really cheap and have been messing around with it after tuning it up. I had no idea you could send audio into it like that. Pretty cool ability, there.
This was a fabulous demo of how usable it can be. I like it as a dr. drone too but I never heard it set up so easily and fast. 3 cables to real keyboard Moog heaven, cheers!
I’m sad they discontinued this. It’s almost like a simplified Mother 32 for significantly less cost. Sounds so good for its size. Get one used if you can!
Now I have to get the Arturia Keystep as WELL as the Werkstatt. I just got an Elektron Model:Cycles to go with my Matriarch, and having the extra patch options on the Werkstatt and the power of the Keystep seem like an absolutely massive rig. Very informative video as always Daniel.
Now, this is a perfect no-no-nonsense video. Thanks and cheers from Denmark. I hope you keep up your execellent work...but...uh...did you just sell me another Moog along the way? ( I can live with that, no problem)
These new videos are about the new Moog Werkstatt kit that includes the expander panel with 3.5mm jacks. Note the different box that Daniel opened - it is not the same box I got with my original Werkstatt-01. I bought the original Werkstatt-01 a few years ago, and then also bought the expander for the EuroRack jacks. It is a great little Moog synth at a great price!
I'd really love to hear this with a Moog Grandmother. Any chance of that happening? Love your channel, Daniel! I"m looking for inexpensive add-ons for my Grandma!
The YC is a great piece of kit. Like all the Refaces you know something exciting is going to happen when you switch it on. Buckets of creative mojo that many "serious" pieces of kit lack.
Hi Mike. I get it; I own all four of them. At first I thought I only needed the CS, then I discovered the Grand Piano Mod on TH-cam for the CP and had to own that one. Now I have all of them and would probably buy a fifth if they came out with another one. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
Just love this videoreview! I´m waiting for my own Werkstatt now, and I can´t wait to create fun patches 😁 I also love the Manfred Mann style gated organ at the end 👍
Can you please tell me if the cv cables going to the moog from the keystep have two black rings or one on each side? Also what would be the difference if you used one ring ends or dual
Hi Jbird. 3.5mm TS (Tip/Sleeve - one ring) is all that's required for Eurorack gear. You can usually get away with using 3.5mm TRS (Tip/Ring/Sleeve - two rings) instead, unless you're going to something that's expecting stereo on one end. -_Daniel_
CV Expander causes me to be out of tune because the input connectors are interconnected (tip + ground). I need to plug an empty jack into the VCO LIN FM IN to tune it.
What with the amount of packaging and the size of the box, it would probably be a lot cheaper pre-assembled. Its just a few screws and shit! Not like you are soldering components onto a pcb and actually learning anything. Having said that. .. it does sound fantastic, and I want one!
Hi Ben. It really shows that, no matter how simply they're offered, it's always pure joy to have a true Moog oscillator and a Moog Ladder Filter. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
There's something i quite don't get about cv on the Werkstatt. The manual states that the range for the Werkstatt 01 is -5/+5V but with 1V/oct standard. How can this range be matched by the KS Pro? Is it possible to play the werkstatt in its full range without eurorack gear? P.S. as always, as long as there's Daniel Fisher, outstanding quality content is guaranteed.
Hi Jbird. Here's a video with more focus on stand-alone playing: th-cam.com/video/I5P14EgqfsU/w-d-xo.html You can use the jack in the back for headphones or a powered monitor. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
I am trying to use the same setup with a Keystep 37 but it is not working. Are there any specific Keystep 37 setup requirements? It looks like the gate V is not set up correctly.
What type of keyboard is he using with it? And what’s the easiest way to get this setup and have it hooked up to a computer? Just got the Moog kit as a gift.
Keyboard : Arturia Keystep Pro It has a Usb/midi output on the back. The Keystep Pro should come with a manual. Especially on midi / clocking using your computer as a master controller and the KSP as the 2ndary master/controller.
Hi Lab Casual. I'm using the Arturia KeyStep Pro. It is ideal because the Werkstatt does not use MIDI or USB. Instead, I used the analog Control Voltage outs of the KeyStep Pro to go to the various CV Input jack on the Werkstatt CV Expander. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
I may be mistaken but the first version didn’t have a gate in cv input - you had to mod the board for this. Based on this demo the cv expansion has the gate in cv so no mod is necessary.

Hi Software70 DKR. It's been a while since I've tested myself, and your comment made me curious. So... based on my "somewhat scientific" phone app, it looks like I'm curving downward just before getting to 18kHz. I can hear it, but only if I keep the phone moving around. (I wonder if that's because the Doppler Effect is randomly lowering the frequency, or if the motion just makes it easier to track.) All in all, not too bad for someone who's going to turn 60. Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
Thanks for checking out the Moog Werkstatt-Ø1 with us! After you watch make sure you like, comment, and subscribe 🤘
Sweetwater's got a lot of great stuff but for me this is essentially the Daniel Fisher channel.
Wow! What a nice thing to say. Thank you, Christopher! -_Daniel_
Same, Daniel's an excellent synth player. He does a great job demoing synth capabilities.
Wait.......OTHER people work at Sweetwater?
Mr. Fisher you are the sole reason I just bought this synth. From Sweetwater no less
We won’t get fooled again! Please never forget. Nice touch Daniel.
Ha! Thanks for watching! -_Daniel_
Awesome as always Daniel!! I LOVE this little beast of a synth.
Yep, Daniel never disappoints. Always very musical and knowledgeable.

The Who organ section was nuts... great job!
I see Daniel Fisher, I click.
I knew as soon as I saw the reface exactly what you were going to play.. Awesome video
Right? Let's see... There's an Organ, Distortion, a resonant Low-Pass Filter, an LFO, and a VCA. I wonder what he's going to do with it? -_Daniel_
