    I upgraded my knobs with ones that don’t need any straw padding and are of a smaller diameter so they don’t cover the labels.

      Yes, I strongly considered this but wanted the knobs to match the rest of my Moog gear. Still looks great though!

    I performed very similar mods on my Werkstatt. But going with red button caps for the black keys. Then using a matching set of red knobs for top row. Went with smaller 14.5mm knobs on other pots. Having the knobs obscure the legends triggered some sort of OCD within me. The smaller knobs are not quite the Moog style, but have the vintage feel with the spun aluminum tops.

    • @Tiger.Arcade
      @Tiger.Arcade  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the labels are covered a bit on the bottom. I would’ve preferred they weren’t but it doesn’t bother me. Only because I’m familiar with what everything does.

  • @andewprod

    Wow that looks crazy!! You got real creative with the straw.. the moog ws 2.0 reminds me of the mother 32 but without the mixer and sequencer :)

    • @Tiger.Arcade
      @Tiger.Arcade  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will have to record them together. They look really nice next to each other. The whole straw thing was due to not being satisfied with how snug the knobs were on top of the originals. Gotta do what you gotta do😂 Thanks for watching Andew

    White key caps! Brilliant. I'll be doing that. I added some of the large knobs though it bummed me out that the letters on the lowest row (LFO & Envelope) were blocked so I didn't put them on there.

    • @Tiger.Arcade
      @Tiger.Arcade  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Thomas! Just helped it feel more secure without destroying the trimpots for when I may want to take them off. Some people get too tight of knobs and then can’t take them off of the trimpots without ripping them off and damaging it.

    Ok, it's April 1st and I am reading "Moog Werkstatt 2.0"
    There is two options: either I have to buy a new Werkstatt or this is an April fools joke 😂
    But I love what I found here. I already added smaller knobs that I 3D printed on my resin printer but these Moog style knobs are definitely better and more to my liking. I still have to decide about the cheeks but they look great although I don't like the black burnt laser cut sides of the panels.
    I am pushing the buy button on some knobs right now to Moogify my Moog 😁

    • @Tiger.Arcade
      @Tiger.Arcade  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Rob! I was worried people might think that 😅 no joke here! This is my own personal “2.0”. Moog even liked my upgrade and video so I’ll take it as they’re cool with it 😂.
      Also, I 💯 agree with you about the laser engraving on the sides. Could’ve done without it, seemed overkill IMO.
      Hope your customization works out! Never hurts to moogify a Moog right?! Thanks for watching man!

    I've been thinking about picking one of these up to add to my growing desktop modular synth setup. It's made of modular "brickie" stand alone units and is becoming quite experimental, my question to you is... can you sequence this (I'm not a keyboard player)?

    • @Tiger.Arcade
      @Tiger.Arcade  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching man! Yes, you can sequence this and play with a keyboard controller. (I use the Arturia Keystep because it has CV control). Here is a link to a video I recently posted which sequences the Moog Werkstatt-01 with the Korg SQ-1: th-cam.com/users/shortsNPbzuvFC4yU?feature=share

    • @Rob_65
      @Rob_65 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the Werkstatt-01 has CV inputs and works perfectly well with any device with 1V/Oct CV output - that's the standard.
      You will need the CV Expander for this but then this just works out of the box. With this and your SQ-1 you'll have a lot of fun

    Great mods. I wonder if there’s anyone here that’s done a fine tune mod, where the VR5 trim can be accessed without removing the front panel? I’m thinking of drilling a small hole through the front panel, just big enough for a screwdriver to fit.

    • @Tiger.Arcade
      @Tiger.Arcade  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s interesting you say that because I noticed that the mother-32 has this tiny fine tune holes on the front panel so you don’t have to remove the panel. You just use a type 1 flat head or something to adjust. Sounds reasonable to me.

    • @jarrodluciano
      @jarrodluciano 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tiger.Arcade yea, and I also noticed that the Minotaur and Sirin have a fine tune knob accessible from the front, too.

    • @jarrodluciano
      @jarrodluciano 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tiger.Arcade I did it. I used a 1/8” drill bit. It’s not perfectly centered over the VR5 trim but it’s close, and just large enough to fit a 00 Phillips screwdriver and fine tune.
      I’m excited I’ll never have to remove the front panel again to access it.

    Nice, add bigger knobs, change some button heads and add cheeks.
    The only shade I have is for Moog wasting money laser etching their logo on the side cheeks. Who cares, nobody see’s that. A bottom strap/plate on the cheeks and feet would have been more useful and stable.

    • @Tiger.Arcade
      @Tiger.Arcade  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The knobs actually really improved the functionality allowing for more accurate dialing. If I was to mod the circuitry I think I’d add a volume knob. That was the main thing I wish this had that it doesn’t.

    • @offthewallsk818
      @offthewallsk818 2 ปีที่แล้ว
