IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME!
    AWAKENING
To look up into the night's sky, to see the stars they are changed
To know a thousand years or more have passed, and I am the same
This mountain hollow that keeps me in a suffocating embrace
A prison and a safe haven, it's always been this way
Lo, a new master calls me to awakening, I know this one brings the end
Far out beyond the darkness I've been living in it's true, a whole new world awaits
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die
My path begins with the new dawn; a voice is calling my name
It always starts as whispering then manifests to a scream
I'm drawn to the creature that wakes me, bound to them by the curse
My soul exists only to serve, a covenant of birth
Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never die
    Come to me, awakening
Follow my voice, come to me
Fear not the task ahead there's no escaping it, there's no good nor evil here
Stellar constellations rise, lighting my way in the night
Once again revitalized, to roam; to never

  • @MooreCEJr

Bass player is using the technique called Clawhammer (used with playing banjo).. where instead of plucking with the fingers he is up-hitting the strings with the back of his fingernails; down hitting with thumb using elbow/shoulders not wrists.. The technique pattern matches the double kick of the bass drummer. This technique produces a gallop,,, or a drive that feels like you are riding into battle with hype to kick ass.

  • @Schatje79
    @Schatje79 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Totally agree with you guys. This band as a whole is incredibility talented from a musical standpoint but their technical ability is just stupid-good. The bassist combining alternate-picking with his thumb and index/middle finger strumming into a 4-note pattern. That's just filthy and cool. The heel-toe skill of that drummer is ridiculous. Most drummers have to hit a fairly high minimum bpm to maintain a smoothness to that technique. This guy is using it at a speed slower than any other I've seen and maintaining a buttery-smooth evenness. The guitarists easily make their presence known whether playing separate parts of harmonizing...and Brittney, well.....yeah, she's alright....lol.....and alright, I mean amazing.

Been a fan of UTA for several years and I'm not sure if I can add anything beyond what has already been said by others other than off the album this track is on, 'Apex', my favorite tune would be "Cleanse the Bloodlines." Epic song and epic video.
And since it appears you like this style of metal, based on the smiles, glint in your eyes, and comments, might I also recommend a band from Greece, Sunburst, and a song off their only LP so far "Out of this World." Also Orden Ogan out of Germany might be right up your alley, and I would recommend "F.E.V.E.R." off their 2015 Ravenhead LP to start with.

I suggest you react to the band Lovebites! Why? Because I think you will love them! They are a Japanese band that ranges between Powermetal and Thrash. They have an awesome guitar duo who are probably part of the reason why fretboards are not made out of metal as they'd probably melt them.
Depending on if you'd like a music video or a live performance for the first song I'D suggest:
"When Destinies Align" or "Hammer of Wrath (live - five of a kind)"

  • @Z_TPI
    @Z_TPI 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Here's a vague breakdown to give you a bit of context behind this songs lyrics and the album it's from - Apex(2017).
This is a concept album telling a story track by track about an Immortal being. This is the opening song on the album. It is sung from the Immortals perspective(not all the tracks are), about being awoken in his mountain hollow from a 1000 year sleep. As a covenant of birth, the immortal must do the bidding of whoever awakens him. As the tracks progress, you find out that The Matriarch(which is played by the male vocalist in this song Awakening) was the one to awaken him. She wants him to find her four sons, so she can kill them and perform a blood ritual to gain immortality for herself(pretty dark haha from the song Cleanse The Bloodlines), and his journey to find them. Each son has their own song about them on the album. The closing song Apex, is about the immortal going back to sleep in his mountain and it is a phenomenally written song.
Their new album which came out in August, is a continuation of this story, and the immortal has awoken on a spaceship confused as hell wondering where tf his mountain is lol from the single Abyss. I won't go into the rest of the album lol
Sadly the bassist is no longer with them..

The band recorded the latest album Abyss in January 2020 at Hansen Studios in Ribe (Denmark). The session bassist for the new album is Benjamin Arscott. It sounds like you will love their 2017 album (Apex) that this was the opening track for. It is a concept album that tells one story through the songs about an immortal warrior who is summoned by the Matriarch to do her bidding. Their 2020 album (Abyss) is actually another concept album that continues that story where it leaves off in Apex. Brittney (singer) actually has videos on TH-cam where she walks through the songs of both albums and explains what's going on in them, in case it's not clear in the song itself.

another good band with really good guitarists and my favorite bassist out there is Band-Maid... give them a try.. you will not be disappointed.

Hey guys! You've now met the General of Metalandia, Brittney Slayes! She is, I swear, the child of Ronnie James Dio and Bruce Dickinson, lol.
For more from this band, to hear Brittney's full vocal range, I recommend the following:
    1) Abyss
    2) Time Stands Still
    3) Tonight We Ride
    4) Faster Than Light
    5) Legacy
    6) Dreamcrusher
    7) Soulbound
And in case you haven't heard them yet, I recommend a Swedish band called Sabaton:
    1) Bismarck
    2) Primo Victoria
    3) Metal Machine
    4) Kingdom Come
    5) Last Stand
Love the reaction, you guys! Stay safe, and keep the Horns Raised Up! 🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥

Easily my top band. I listen to their songs at least once everyday and they never get boring. If you’d like to witness Brittney’s insane vocal talents, you check out Tonight We Ride and Time Stands Still. In both songs she hits some insane high notes.

UtA is such a fun band. They have a bit of a throwback feel with a modern twist. They are fairly active as far as engaging the fans through multiple platforms, including the reaction community. Check out General of the Dark Army for an older song of theirs, or try Soulbound from their newest album.

Ohhhhh boy, judging by how well you liked this one you will love the rest of their stuff lol this is off of their 2017 album Apex, and every song on that album EVERY. DAMN. SONG. On that album is good, if not GREAT. And guess what? They just dropped a new album this year and it’s JUST AS GOOD.... this is my favorite band right now and imo they’re making the best power metal in the world right now, and it seems that you like power metal sooooo... I’m tryna say you NEED to check out more from these guys

I just want to know one thing: What is the song in the intro? Who does it? It's fucking banging!
So are your reactions, I promise! That little giddy bouncing clap and squeal was the (no bullshit) most genuine and awesome reaction to this band I've seen yet.
EDIT: I don't pretend to know the band personally, but I've seen enough videos where Britney is interviewing with reactors, or checking out their own music with reactors, to make the educated presumption that they'd be tickled pink to know that their music inspires you to sit down and write.

    • @SongsandThongs
      @SongsandThongs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Answer to your question: It is a song simply titled "Heavy Metal" it is a track that I purchased specifically to put in the background of our videos. And we agree, It is amazing! It was created by someone only known as "Mr. Claps"
Ha ha! People call Harry "Dramatic" or "Drama Queeen", but hey when you are in touch with your inner child and remember to get happy about stuff that make you happy and to get sad about stuff that make you sad, you just tend to get the most out of life. (But you can't hide it! Ha ha! So drama queen it is!)
They truly do inspire and that should always be the goal when creating music. Love this band so much!

Unleash the Archers is my favorite band. Brittney Slayes is an outstanding vocalist. If you want to see her range, check out Tonight We Ride and Abyss (the sequel song to Awakening). Other good songs are The Matriarch and Ten Thousand Against One (very underrated song).
Also, I don't know if you've heard of Sabaton. They are part of the same genre (Power Metal) as many of the bands you mentioned. However, I think you'd like the lead vocalist's voice. Start with Bismarck.

  • @adamplona9438
    @adamplona9438 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Brittany's voice sold me on it right away too. More to look up...
"Cannons" Fire For You, Hurricane, Purple Sun.
"Leo Moracchioli" Africa, or Dance Monkey
for some fun... Batmetal Forever (by Dethklok)
    "Disturbed" Sound of Silence
"Five Finger Death Punch" Wrong Side of Heaven, or Bad Company

Nikko, the bassist, is no longer in the band. He uses a variation of classic guitar technique on bass.
Some power metal bands you might want to check out. That influenced Unleash the Archers.

    Rhapsody Dawn of Victory th-cam.com/video/rXlZZGrbEGU/w-d-xo.html

Hi and welcome to the UTA - Family ;-)
Awakening is the opener to the album "Apex". It's a concept - album telling the story of "The Immortal", "The Matriarch" and her 4 sons. Brittney, the singer, is an excellent storyteller ..
They are mixing a few genres (death-, powermetal, ..)
From my side i would highly recommend:
    - Tonight We Ride (great range from Brittney): th-cam.com/video/UOvZKJlrtk8/w-d-xo.html
    - Soulbound (from the current album Abyss): th-cam.com/video/_yFH-O05uS0/w-d-xo.html
