if you think about it they really always loved each other way more than anything. they both wanted the best out of each other and fought like literal married couples do. if anything their public feuding just showed they both cared about the team a lot they just had different approaches. it's not like they were never able to win. both kobe and shaq made each other play better by pissing the other one off. i think it was just an inevitable side effect of having the 2 best players on one team, and it still worked out better than most dynamic duos have. honestly the main thing that really ended up ruining it was just shaq being so out of shape year after year. kobe was fine giving up shots IF shaq worked hard. but to not train and then still want more shots was unrealistic on shaq's part. i think they both didn't care too much about the feud other than when it actually started costing them wins. there's a good reason after shaq left, he ended up having problems with every team yet kobe became a much better leader without shaq undermining him all the time.
It’s fair to believe the Lakers could’ve won six if Kobe and Shaq would’ve just got their egos in check. With Shaq helping the Heat win in 07 and Kobe leading the Lakers to two straight,I don’t see how that couldn’t be possible.

Very good point!
They made it to the finals 7 times in one decade, winning 5 of them. That’s pretty damn amazing if you ask me. Top 4 dynasty of all time.
