"You can create all the races you remember that include crocodile..." Pretty funny considering Rewritten actually introduced the crocodile Toon as well as the deer Toons. Those weren't in the original game! That's how well-made they are - you couldn't tell. :D
Rewritten and Corporate Clash are great, can't wait for TTR's remaster and Clear Coasts updates! There's also Toontown Archive, which preserves major updates from TTO.
@@VagrantVideos It's a private server, but they have different versions of TTO you can play. You can play a beta build, or a build from 2003, 2005, etc.
The Toonfest this year was fun and it is awesome that you were there. I probably ran into you and never knew it but I went to MomoCon just for toonfest and drove 14 hours one way to get there. To say the fans and fan developers are dedicated is almost an understatement. I never even played the original and started with TTR.
As a kid I never got to experience the full game back then so I'd play trial accounts often so when this came out years back it was a blast. I think I really didn't start to play til the lockdowns in 2020 and got hooked for awhile. Between this and an analog horror based on these dead kids games I'm kinda tempted to give this another go on a fresh character.
I remember playing this game in my childhood, and the original toontown before rewritten, I would always play with my friends, don't know where they are now, good times back then.
I'd like to make some corrections. Crocodiles were not in Toontown Online, Panda3D is still being updated, and ToonSync is partnered with Toontown Rewritten instead of being created by them.
ToonSync was actually made by Toontown Rewritten, specifically Lappy. It's currently only utilised by toonhq, but it's made in a way that theoretically any partnered 3rd party platform will be able to request to use it.
On the topic of private servers progressing past the original servers, you should look into warhammer onlines orivate servers. The devs have done some amazing work restoring old cut content and even adding in their own custom content. Good stuff.
Bro why don’t you get more viewers? I don’t get the algorithm bc your content is always great. Can you do a video on SWG Legends? I know it’s a private server but it’s really populated and got the game right back to where it was before it closed down.
I’d love to do more content on stuff like that in general. Right now I’m just trying to balance full time job and TH-cam. It’s a struggle but comments like these I truly appreciate. Definitely keeps me going.
I love seeing people play Toontown, as a younger played who never played TTO. I loved TTR, and I also love Clash. I'm glad my siblings told me about it, cause it's probably on of my favorite games.
you think you'll ever do a video covering corporate clash. its definitely a massively different toontown experience worth looking at. Especially if your used to rewritten.
Just throwing it out there, crocs & deer were introduced in TTR & I thought you were going to make a joke when starting with listing them after saying, "you can make all the races you remember" but since you weren't on TTR for the election & don't remember TTO too well, honest mistake I'm sure but that would have been a funny joke. I started playing in the late summer of 2003, did the free three day trial on repeat until I was denied access to TT's site as in pressing the play now button only refreshed the page & back then, while you did have to download it, it didn't have a launcher, it just took you to their site if you open up the game so I was stuck unable to play for a few months but February 2004, my parents surprised me with a membership to the game as a Valentines Day present & I never stopped playing, took breaks but never fully stopped. Even followed TTR updates when the game shut down, tried for an alpha key, failed, tried for a beta key, failed. When semi-open beta happened, I was working & living in my first apartment with two roommates at the time, one ended up making the internet slow for everyone & I got into the play line with like only a few hours wait time but when I had 5 minutes left, my internet crashed (thanks a lot ex roommate) & when I got back in, I had like a 10 hour wait time, I stayed up that entire night waiting to get in, played Town of Salem with a friend I met through some Toontown forums during that time since I started a thread for us to complain as we wait in the play line & it took off like a rocket. I did manage getting into semi-open beta multiple times but due to my work schedule, failed at getting a key. Pretty much, I can fill you in on lots of stuff if you want. I do need to get a lot of my recordings off of my old laptops but I do have footage of TTO recorded (unregistered hypercam2 thing in the corner, so dated ik lol) but I do have a lot of unused recordings from that time. I could also answer many questions regarding the game. If you couldn't tell *points at my name* I do love Toontown a lot, it was my first MMO & my favorite one. I experienced so much of the history of the game, I think I even still have some pages printed out of entry forms from different contests TTO hosted but because I dropped the ball on entering, I never filled them out. I also have a lot of old news letters but because I moved, many are in storage & just scattered among boxes & stuff. Played TTR as soon as I possibly could, like I said, failed to get into alpha & beta but at the very least, did get in semi-open beta. It was such a joke that it's the vanilla Toontown for the longest time since Corporate Clash was so inventive & different. While I like CC, I prefer a genuine Toontown experience, CC is fun & challenging but TTR is the game I played for the majority of my life now. I'm 31, I have been playing TT for nearly 20 years, that's a lot to take in. Now, TTR has plenty to make it more difficult, we waited years for field offices, we knew about it long ahead of time. It's understandable that it took so long for a team of volunteers to get this done, I love the work they put into it & am happy I can continue playing one of my favorite games. As for the rhythm of playing & working off of other players, there's strats, unwritten rules I suppose you can say. People know the numbers when it comes to using sound, my main in TTO was soundless so I learned the sound strats later in my experience playing the game but I knew how to fight without using it & when you're with a group that knows the styles, you just fall into the pattern. It takes going with the right people but it can end up being like a dance, you all know the steps & fall into line without saying a word. There's plenty of times when communication is key because you might be with newer players or not everyone is maxed so you have to account for different numbers & play things in another manner but if at least one person knows what to do & the others are able to follow, it should work out.
Ya I literally had no idea because of my lack of knowledge lol. Ironically we are the same age but back then because TTO was membership required I didn’t get to play it :(.
Who plays ToonTown Rewritten?
Me
I’ve been playing since release
I used to play it but now I stick to corporate clash
I love toontown! Been playing it since I was a kid

Early gang here. And yeah I was playing this years ago when it dropped. It's fun for being niche as heck.
I really enjoyed hanging out at momocon playing this. Felt like a giant LAN party.

I downloaded Rewritten about 2 months ago and while I don’t play it, I do respect it and all that it’s done for the Toontown community
I personally would like to attend another toonfest
Why u got that shit installed
Good video! I have been playing TTR about 3 years and I still love it.
Remember waking up early in the morning to play this as a kid
Thank you so much for such a great overview of Toontown today!
