3:25 The beautiful pink building is actually a new town hall (well, "new", it's from the 18th century), it's called The Primate's Palace and it's still used today by our mayor.
haha such a great opening! Bratislava is amazing. I just posted a video from my trip there. I LOVED it! I had no idea what to expect, and it really blew me away.
3:24 The pink building is the Primate's Palace. In 1805, the Peace of Pressburg (Bratislava) between Napoleon Bonaparte and Roman Emperor Francis II was signed there, in the Hall of Mirrors. The Mayor's Offices are there today. 14:35 Those are called šúľance s makom (šúľance with poppy seeds). Very nice video!
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
"Bratislava is small city, you can walk through there for 1 hour." Yeah, right, for tourist walking around Old Town. But Bratislava is more than that. But you must go outside Old Town and explore more places within Bratislava. And Devín castle is still in Bratislava, Devín is just another town section (like New Town, Trnávka, Petržalka, etc.). Restaurant inside UFO doesn't spin (or rotate) and since opening in 1974 (the bridge itself was opened 2 years earlier), there is an entrance fee (it was always "high society and tourist place", regular people go there only once, or never). Old Bridge is basically the newest bridge and it is the third construction, the first was demolished by germans in 1945, the second was demolished in 2013, because it was considered as a temporary construction. Eurovea, Apollo bridge and the surroundings are also interesting places, too. No tourist is mentioning that you can find at least 10 lakes for swimming in Bratislava, like Zlaté piesky, or Veľký Draždiak. What about abandoned Rusovce castle? What about Janko Kráľ's city park? What about Medical garden? What about ZOO, or Botanical garden? Sandberg? Danubiana? UFO in Vrakuňa? And many other places? If you discover other places within Bratislava, you will notice that you will need at least 2 days.
👍Thank you for sharing. My great Grandfather was from Bratislava and I would love to visit there one day and visit the places you mentioned plus visit the places in this video. Blessings.🛐

This pink building is The Primate's Palace - a neoclassical palace and home of our mayor. Back in days that was place for arcibishop. Fun fact in 1805 the Palace's Hall of Mirrors saw the signing of the fourth Peace of Pressburg, ending the War of the Third Coalition

The Slavin is a monument and military cemetery for the fallen Soviet troops in WW2 who defeated the Germans in 1945 who had been occupying Bratislava. Why would mentioning that get the video de-monetized?
I don't think TH-cam would demonetized you if you mentioned that Slavín is a memorial of fallen soldiers who liberated Bratislava during 2nd world war?

Why would they dmonetize you for sharing historical facts? Prague). Slavín is a memorial monument and military cemetery in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. It is the burial ground of thousands of Soviet Army soldiers who fell during World War II while taking over the city in April 1945 from the occupying German Wehrmacht units and the remaining Slovak troops who supported the clero-fascist Tiso government. It is situated on a hill amidst a rich villa quarter of the capital and embassy residences close to the centre of Bratislava.
The landmark that he’s not able to mention is The Slavin monument - after defeating the german army in 1945, the russian/soviet occupying powers built this monument to themselves on our land. Russia and Germany had a pact to split Europe between them and they only fought the germans after Hitler tried to conquer Moscow. Sad history.

Martin Fratric are you serious right now? Are you aware of what “lol” means? Might I also suggest that in addition to lightening up about 1000% you should also educate yourself on the concept of sarcasm. Now as far as your attempt at making disparaging comments about America, I don’t really feel the need to respond. It’s a pretty well documented fact that the USA is the greatest, most free, most powerful and most successful country in the world. At this point to debate with someone who thinks otherwise is like trying to debate with someone who believes the Earth to be flat or thinks the Holocaust didn’t happen. You can believe whatever you’d like but if that doesn’t make your beliefs correct by any means. Is the USA without its flaws or issues? Absolutely not, nothing is 100% perfect, ever but it is an indisputable fact that the USA is the greatest country in the world and is objectively better than any other country in the world for the reasons I listed previously. These are hard, solid facts, not something you can subjectively argue based on your sense of patriotism for the country you live in. You may *think* it’s better there and you may *believe* you know what it’s truly like to be an American but the *fact* is your thoughts, feelings and beliefs don’t count for anything to anyone that isn’t you. I don’t wanna bring down TTC’s with this kind of thing though. I’m gonna avoid the insults and not try to put any other countries down. That wasn’t my intention in the first place and it certainly isn’t now. I really don’t wish to put you down either but I certainly hope you do work developing a sense of humor as you clearly lack one currently.
