There are musicians, then artists. Michael is in the broken mold of Hendrix, F. Mercury, Art Tatum, James Brown you can't duplicate or "get close" to the technical or artistic ability. Just Once In A Lifetime. Incredible.
seriously tho.. some of the most rerun sections of this video for me.. and I have watched it 50 timeslol no really. Is the part where he's backing up Nathan, never seen anything like it. Amazing to me the level Mr. Cleveland operates from. Plus Nathan is frakkng amazing
While Michael is always absolutely always amazing, the mandolin player was also awesome and deserves a lot of props. An album of these two guys together would be a must-buy from me...
I got to meet Michael at a concert once... he was backstage, trading knives, as he is a collector. I forget which band he was playing with... that was about 30 yrs. ago. I think he was all of about.. 8 at the time.
This is so amazing, I almost forget to breathe while watching! Notice how the tip of his bow is too fast for the camera! It looks almost glitchy. Amazing!!
I can't get enough of this stuff. Michael's fiddling is just sick!!! Love this guy, can't wait to see him next year at Bean Blossom. Hope he plays this song!!!!
5:20 call the fire dept, Michael just set fire to that fiddle and melted that bow. The greatest disabled fiddle player of all time? No. The greatest fiddle player of all time. Nathan is well on his way to becoming the mandolin GOAT as well!
Michael plays that fiddle amazingly hard and yet I hardly ever see him break any strings or bow hair !!! Truly awesome fiddler. Saw him in concert about 20 yrs ago in the Wirral Community Centre UK. I was spellbound then and not recovered since 🎶🎻🎶🎻🎶🎻🤠
The greatest disabled fiddle player of all time? No. The greatest fiddle player of all time. If Michael doesn’t motivate you to do what you love and do it the best you can, youre not trying.
I think he may be the greatest player of any stringed instrument. I'm more familiar with guitar, but he tops any guitar player I have ever heard in terms of lick tastiness, phrasing, aggression and raw speed. I'm a huge fan of SRV and Dimebag, 2 very different players that I love for different reasons, he combines what I love about both of them but plays fiddle.

The Devil went down to Georgia but he doesn't dare go anywhere near Cleveland.
Guy Hagner . LoL!!
this comment and this video should have many orders of magnitude more likes
True, he's already handed one gold fiddle 😉
Today I feel tempted, young fellow. You have a good one!
LOLROTF!
i will still say he is the best fiddle player i have ever heard

Michael makes that fiddle talk, best fiddler I have ever heard and I’ve heard many
One of the greatest instrumentals of all-time.

I saw them do this duo version at the Floyd Country Store. Best ever!
Even his backup licks are hot fire.

I believe that's Nathan Livers. He's Michael Cleveland's mandolin player for flamekeeper
A good musician can play their instrument well, a great musician can let another shine.
And that mandolin player will tell you that Michael is what motivated him to become great.
The best fiddler alive! Also nice mandolin strumming also.

These guys are seriously incredible players. Please excuse my ignorance, have they recorded together?
Yes, check out Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper
Délivrance banjo
if you can sit still while this is playing, you have a major problem... Bill Monroe is great, but this guy is fantastic..
Hats off to the players... not so much for the camera man... covered the mamdolin players hands during his chops and chording
