Where did you buy your full version of DQ10?
@@rebirthof4-waysli Oooh I understand now. The level cap for the Trial version is Level 80 and it lets you play ALL of the original game plus 99% of Version 2 (basically the 2nd game. It’s the first massive expansion).
If you want to continue to play through later versions and get the full version, you can continue on your same character and account you used for the Trial Version. You just need to install the full version and subscribe (it’s about $10/month)
@@dukey03
The resolution by default, max you can take it is 1440p, if you edit the config file, can you take it even further, like 4k?
@@rebirthof4-waysli not too sure as far as system requirements and graphics goes. This is like the ONLY game I play on PC. Keep in mind there HAS been a massive graphics update for Version 7 a couple months ago, but Dragon Quest 10 originally came out on the Wii.
how populated is the mmo?
Version 7 just released about a week or 2 ago; so there have been quite a few people on. Keep in mind Primetime here is different than when most people are online in Japan. There are quite a few servers too; so I’ve never had overpopulation issues either
After seeing the mod for offline i am wanting to do this and dont know how as i got pay pall and a good credit card but i have never been in Japan hope this helps
I did everything right but now when I click add new player it gives me an error code that I can't connect to the server.
If you’re outside of Japan or the USA you will need to make sure you have a VPN
im downloading the client install and it keeps crashing is there something i have to do differently or do i have to keep restarting the download like ff14 (edit) it was like ff14
If you are outside of Japan and the USA you need to run a VPN and set it to either Japan or USA. That might be your issue
Oh weird, I’ve never heard of this issue before. I wonder if you just got a bad install somehow. Glad it’s working now though
@@dukey03 I’m fine now it took about four hours but the thing I’m stuck on now is if I wanna put my information in for the translator
when i click icon on my desktop after the installation, error pops up it says wcstombs_s failed
You likely need a VPN set to USA or Japan. This is the most common issue people face after installing and trying to run the client. Also, make sure you’re running as Administrator
@@dukey03 i do have exitlag vpn for the game
@@js-gd1mm hmm.. you could try asking the DQX Worldwide Discord for help. They have a section for Questions and are very helpful

@@dukey03 thank you so much
@@js-gd1mm No problem at all dude!
It seems finicky? Can you play it on steam?
@@Lerieiz Not the online version, not for free.
The offline version is available on steam if you create a Japanese or Asian account, but you have to buy it.
@@dukey03 isn’t there offline of the online version? Or you have to just create the account and then use all the transactions and AI to play and pay online?
Offline is cool. But it’s the chibi version. It’s ok. But this would be my primary choice tbh.
Also are new expansions like much better looking as it obvs got upscales as time went on?
@@Lerieiz I’m not sure what you mean by offline version of the online version. The trial is 💯 free (unless you require a VPN). Also not sure why anyone would prefer to have a game launch through Steam instead of it just launching directly from the desktop.
@@Lerieiz as far as graphical improvements; yes there was a big graphical improvement when Version 7 came out earlier this year. It improved the graphics for the entire game.
@@dukey03 I guess steam deck cos of portability and other reasons.
By offline online I mean the og dq x. Not the Chibi x.
Did that update also change graphics for the base game?
for some reason i cant get full screen
Yeah I pretty much run it windowed all the time as well, but it’s basically full screen. I believe in the Config in the Launcher you can change that
@@dukey03 figured it out with some help from discord
@@mikeylovesretro awesome! Glad to hear it dude!
Do you think they will give free trial players more versions for free?
I hope they give more free versions
I’m not too sure, but 2 Versions is a LOT! I think V1 took us about 130 hours and we didn’t even come close to all the side content. We’re now about 1/5th of the way into V2
It’s basically 2 full Dragon Quest games for free
@@dukey03 thank you, do you have a video that addresses the differences btw a paid player and free trial? like the limitations besides the expansion and no access to chat.
@@roblox21242 for Trial players it’s mostly just those and anything that’s been released in Version 3 and on that can’t be used. So you can’t get any vocations that weren’t in V1 or 2. You also don’t have access to Trading or the Bazaar (but you can still receive mail and mail attachments, so there is a way around it)
@@dukey03 thanks, so its similar to ff14 trial where players cant trade items, buy or sell from market board but a bit more stricter because players cant chat at all. what about the casino thing i saw in the game and other mini games?

A shame this isn't the Wii U version, but deffo better than not having it at all!
I don’t think the Clarity team would’ve thought it a good use of time to make their translation work on the version of the game that’s being discontinued in March
@@dukey03 Aw, it's being discontinued? That sucks...I own all sorts of consoles, but I'll die on the hill that the Wii U Gamepad is the comfiest controller I've ever used. 😭
