So many change ups in Sepultura songs. They're the masters of it. I was 19 years old when this came out, and I listened to it day and night. Gives me a sense of pride seeing younger people appreciate this.

I'm 36 and that was the exact same reaction i had to them when i first heard them when i was 16... I named my oldest son after the singer and drummer... Cavalera... Max cavalera really helped me thru several deaths around me... Both my sons like this band and it's awesome to see more tooth enjoy MY STYLE of tunes

This is my favorite band (until Max Cavalera left). It is incredible to know that these people came from Belo Horizonte, a city that had no heavy metal at that time and these guys arrived where they arrived. The mainstream in Brazil never supported those guys and they had the courage to move on.

This awesome song is from the album "Arise" (1991). Sepultura Is still alive, without Cavalera brothers but Is still kicking asses (the actual drummer Is Eloy Casagrande, a beast!)... And yes, so fast!! One of the most peculiar things Is about concerts: They play faster than studio albums.
I recommend the concert in "Rock In Río 2019". The band is still alive and with very nice health.
The actual drummer is Igor Cavalera in this video, and although Eloy is a beast on the drums it's Igor all the way for me....

Sepultura died in 1997 when Max and Igor left! Those that remained are playing in a cover band...lol Over the last 4 years I have seen the Cavalera Brothers playing their albums they composed while in Sepultura. Saw them play Roots, Arise and Beneath the Remains!! Igor still has it!!!!
@@Defensive_Wounds I do somewhat agree, yes they did die when Max left and then sadly Igor, when Max left Andreas should have taken over as lead singer...
@@Defensive_Wounds igor left the band in 2006, max in 96. Andreas composed most of the songs while max was in the band. In terms of lyrics max rules but just listen sepultura without andreas and you'll see it. the band change a lot for better.

Even though its fast and in your face its the those switch ups and breakdown is why these guys deserve more credit in the thrash scene with thee like of the Big 4(metallica,slayer,megadeth,anthrax). Also, still thinking about the headbang... Please try "Angel Of Death" from Slayer ... IMHO, the best thrash song of all time... but "Beneath the remains" are right up there with "Angel of Death"...

I can remember exactly where i was the first time i heard Refuse/Resist in 1993. It was my introduction to Sepultura. It was instant love.

Yeah! you girls finally did it, I have been recommending Dead Embryonic Cells a couple times now, Sepultura is my favorite band, they have soooo many awesome songs, you can do next Inner self, Desperate Cry, Stronger than Hate or Territory if you liked Dead Embryonic Cells that much you are now Sepultura fans for sure!! I was like 16 the first time I listen to Sepultura and they changed everything for me, metalhead since then and thanks to them.
I love this album so much, I'm not sure how, but back in my teens I used to use this album to go to sleep to!! Still a class album all these years later
I saw Sepultura live in Australia in '94 or '95. They were great!! They toured with American band Sacred Reich. You should check out The American Way by Sacred Reich.

This is my favorite Sepultera track! It's full of epic riffs, solos, rhythms, crazy drums and great vocals. When I first borrowed this CD from my friend in High School, it blew my mind! He said this is the best Portuguese band ever. I still believe that to this day!

Yeah. Roughly 30 years ago in my early teen years I did my first try of trash metal. That was Sepultura's Arise album (the one from which is this song). Fell in love in their guitars immediately. Needless to say I became a metalhead and proudly consider myself as such ever since. The breakdown (part that starts at 4:37) is still my favorite part from any music created on this Universe (well, at least very close second to Pantera's Domination).
