      @@ogvamp2 Eh, hard to say if that's true or not. Daniel Naroditski is a wonderful teacher, I learned how to use The Sicilian properly from their lessons and even got EASY wins from the Vienna prep that Daniel has for him.
      Charlie knows his openings well, if 1.e4 then sicilian, if 1.d4 then he plays the dutch..
      there's a LOT that can happen. We've seen from here that he's not that good at openings so I'm really wanting to see it happen

      If you spend time understanding the position then you will have a good idea of how the game can progress and you will already know what moves you will play depending upon how your opponent plays.

      "uhhh i think of it little bit like a tree, right? so sometimes uh when were going about mid game when you kind of have to make your core strategy. i think of the trunk like the big chunk of the strategy, right? ok these pieces can go over there and i try to get a uh mental map of what can happen, right? and i feel like once i build that core as i start actually playing and im on the clock, its easier to get to the branches. does that make sense? its easier to branch out and get away from the core and start trickling out of it."

    I’m less than average at this game, but I love it.
    I got back into it after seeing Antonio on TH-cam and then later Hikaru. The fact that these guys are so invested in seeing the average player enjoying it...for me personally is awesome.
    I’m sure the “Super GM’s” are a little bit sour because a lot of other celebrities are getting more focus from “their” game from the masses than they are.

    11:03 I wonder if white can play Ra5 here? It attacks the e5 pawn with check, which would cover the f5 square. Defending the pawn with f6 doesn't work because of Bg6+!

      ra5 looks winning but when I watched this game live as much as I wanted to see it it's kinda obvious she wasn't high enough rated to find such a move since you're taught not to lift the rook like that especially with the knight undeveloped. still never checked with a computer after 5 months lol

    the tree thing makes a lot of sense: he's talking abt the possibilities being the thickness of the tree, and each move that is made shaves off the many other possibilities that required different moves, equivalent to a tree trunk thinning into smaller and smaller branches
