    im lucky I got my stage 3 b5s4 for 10k use and it makes 450whp and 475 wtq so around 550bhp and its super fun car. looking at buying a mk5 for a day and throwing a turbo on it.

    one worry that I have with this job is for the rod bearings. I've been told that the rods should get center bored when installing ARP bolts because the clamping force is greater on them and distorts the area where the bearings sit making it slightly egg shaped.

      Thanks. I’ve heard this before but nearly all r32 turbos that have standard rod do not get the piston big ends honed. I’ve had this turbo for over 10k miles now and no issues. I personally don’t think the clamping force changes much but the strength of the bolt from snapping is the key benefit. Also 40ish ftlb is really not a lot to distort the rods if I’m honest

    Really enjoying your content. Keep it up. Can wait for the clutch packs video. Very good friend of mine is the best VR6 Turbo builder in Bulgaria ( Radeff`s Garage) but somehow I want to build it my self and you and humblemechanic are giving me more and more confidence.

    great info .....If you had to do it again with a supercharger what supercharger would you get ? size brand ect?

      Unfortunately I don’t know the answer to that. I didn’t look into it too much. You will find it hard to get a setup for the mk5 nowadays as most people turbocharge.

    What supercharger kit would you choose if you had gone down that road ?

      They don’t do a kit for the MK5. Unless you find an old kit. I think some company’s doo a drive in drive out build but turbos has really taken over now.

    Did u ever consider making a manifold? By the time u finish your welds would look pretty good. If you use schd.40 1" stainless do u think it would support the turbo?

      I have a video coming on friday which shows how crap my welds are, i think making a manifold would cause me to either loose all my hair or for it go grey rapidly.

    Hey when you deleted the plastic vacuum reservoir and replaced it with the blue boost box did you have to do anything to get around the two solenoid plugs throwing any codes up? I imagine the SAI one wasn’t any trouble but was the inlet flap one causing any issues?

      I can't speak for him but on my mk4 I put a resistor in the plug and had no issues 👍

      @@Randomsheit that’s what I was considering doing did you make your own resistors or did you use the 1.8 urotuning kit?

      @@georgeeversham4433 I just straight up put a resistor into the plug, I don't rememebr what ohm but I'm sure a bit of google can find it. Id recommend putting some silicone or something over it once you confirm it works to keep the water out

    You ended up getting the Tiguan dsg right? Did that end up giving the car any legs? 6th is so short. Im wondering how to gear the final drive

    I think it still sounds good. That a3 on og still sounds the same with turbo on top ?

      @@tomcoxon3520 Yeah that sounds mental, he does have a screamer pipe and prob a 3.5 inch exhaust the whole way. I think i need to change my exchaust to get that sound back without the screamer

    How much does it cost to install a supercharger kit ? who dose one ?

      Ive been searching. There’s a kit for 5k 400+ bhp. Full on kit, I’d be happy for just a simple bolt on SC for less and about 320 bhp but struggling to find one too

      Yeah there were a few company’s there did a drive in and out for about 5k. The trouble is finding one for the mk5. You are prob looking at the same price about 4-5k for a sc setep

      @@OctaneFever I found only one that was drive in and out but it stopped doing them some years ago , fair play you doing the kit yourself .
