Even back then, the level of graphical fidelity Naughty Dog managed to achieve was very impressive. Just look at the textures on the precursor orbs, or the structures in Precursor Basin
I'd replayed recently and was wowed again by how ridiculously good Precursor architecture looked for its time. The leap between the first game and the second is somehow even more ludicrous! Naughty Dog was on a completely different level when it came to their environmental design.
I remember getting the demo disc and my dad calming me down because "I thought it was the actual game" later in life I received the Game along with the trilogy
Damn! Already recognize four awesome stars in the gaming world! Andy and Jason former heads of Naughty Dog!! The current president of Naughty Dog can't remember his name but he's in here, and finally the awesome the great!!! Mark Cerny!!! PlayStation is so lucky to have him!! Truly a di' vinche in the gaming world!!!
If there is one thing that I am very disappointed in the first Jak and Daxted that the designers did not take the time to do is to put in the close captioning because coming from a guy who's hard of hearing makes it even more difficult for me to even understand the mission. So that's why I skip to Jak 2 and Jak 3 because they have close caption. The only thing that bugs me for not including the close caption is after you have completed the mission, the annoying talking robot is one of the hardest bitch to understand!
That's the experience we non-English speakers went through as kids, but then again it's different because now I can understand their speech and as a kid it didn't matter as much because I could figure it out from their expressions and what was happening.
Well lol, imagine not even knowing a word of english when you first played it and no translation for your language was available. You native english speakers are more privileged than you'll ever know when half of existing media is in your language -_-
Right there with ya! I’m replaying it right now. There were times I had to look up what I was supposed to be doing bc I couldn’t hear what was going on
This is one of my favorite childhood video games and I still play it to this day❗️👏🏼
Me too man!😍
Me too .
Me too 💘
I'm 8 years old again! Pure nostalgia, right from the demo disc!
Great video, took me back to those days

Masterpiece, swan song of the brilliant platformers
Just bought this on ebay for less than $10, its seriously an amazing game, even in 2021

Wow, if that happened to me I bet I would cry

I don't really use it because I'm hard of hearing I think it brings cool effects to the dialogue. I hate how you can't even skip cutscenes.

@@KatGraves I am glad that I am finding almost most of the newer games today have the ability to select close captioning. Thank goodness!
Soooo no mocap?
You can still make some decent games, with pre-made or library asset rigs & animations.
Me and Rick Ruben have the same birthday March 10th
Imma buy the ps3 trilogy thanks
