  • The Swedish band ABBA has been singing about "Money, Money, Money" for years. But if you try to buy a ticket to the pop group's museum exhibition in Stockholm with cash, you're out of luck; it's one of the increasing number of establishments that has stopped accepting cash. Mark Phillips looks at how Sweden is becoming a cashless society, where transactions are all done with smartphones and devices, and where last year only 13% of Swedes could remember using coins or bills for a recent purchase.

It’s a bit like this here. At my grocery store most everyone pulls out a debit card and when I use cash I get to watch the cashier look at me like I have 3 heads and labor to count out my change 😆

I rarely used cash but I do carry cash just in case the store's credit card system goes down and are temporary only accepting cash. Its happen to me several times at different stores. I also some authentic Japanese restaurants only accept cash. I know the restaurant is authentic because I know the family is Japanese and immigrated to the states to open their restaurant. Another reason to carry cash or multiple credit cards is in case someone skims your credit card info and commits frauds the credit card company will disable your card and send you a new one which takes time to arrive.

My hometown grocery store no longer accepts VISA cards because of a recent fee increase. If you micro manage how much you spend on your phone and divide the phone/ app/ plan fees plus the other tax, you may want to thank cash for still being around.

Don't people in Sweden read the bible? Have they never read Revelation chapters 13 and 14? "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." God's word will not return to him void.

I just have one problem with this and that is these cashless payments are charged by their operators and so you pay for each payment you make which means you pay more than what the actual price of the goods is and you spend more overall, those admin fees will go up with inflation as was the case with my bank, first it was free to pay cashless than after a few years they stared charging and it's only when I saw my bank chargers that I realized how much more I was spending per month just by going cashless🤤😟😢
PS the fees have been going up each year since they started charging so it costs more each year just like the atm but now you use the atm and pay the atm fees every time at each and every till/paypoint you use.
