    Why would you toss the inkpad? Re-ink it, that's what re-inkers are for. I buy a re-inker with every inkpad I get. This is a neat trick if you want to use that colour in that moment but after the pad is really empty, buy a re-inker instead of tossing it. Unless you have a damaged pad, then toss it.

    I’m just now learning about ink pads and stamping. Thanks for making this video! I’ll be sure to remember this as I start using my ink pads. :)

    If it is die ink, just add a little water. Worked well with my oldest Stampin Up pads.

    I have a whole stack of ink pads that are dry. All dye ink. I can't find the reinkers for them anywhere. One of them is a stampin up and no luck. I may have to try this.

    I couldn't tell if glycerin alone would work, or if you also need to add water. You did both in the video. Did you have to add water to your other ink pads after you added glycerin? Did you test whether just using water would have worked?

      Hello, sorry I’ve been away for a bit but im back now 😊
      I added a tiny spritz of water to help the glycerin move a bit quicker for video time sake, as it is very thick and has to soak into the pad, also because my pad was so very dry seemed beyond help really 😉 I personally would only do that with the ranger distress ink because they are inks that are designed move with water, I do not recommend you add water to the pad though, rather be patient and if you have time the glycerin will soak though and I do not recommend you do this in place of any re-inker, certainly if you have a re-inker use that by all means. I only shared this tip for dry pads that are heading out to the dumpster, a prior to disposal technique, a way to get the last out of your ink pads. For example, if you are getting ready to dispose of your ink pads and do not feel they have any life left in them, or you do not have a re-inker & are not able to get one. This was a simple trick on how to get the dry ink moving prior to disposal if that was your intention. Glycerin will work all on its own very well if you’re patient and want to wait a few minutes. I also spritzed it with water so the videos time would not be so lengthy but I am happy to report MY INK PAD IS STILL WORKING! . 😁 I hope this helps. Hugs!🌹

      Thanks - I'll look into reinkers instead, and if they're not available I'll go ahead and replace my Hero Arts inks as the pads run dry.☺

      I imagine as your ink pad does run out of ink it’s probably on its own going to get lighter. These ink pads I’ve used this technique on are ones that have dried up due to having completely forgotten I had them (Tucktaway somewhere that I did not see them for a while) or they were left slightly opened in a room near the heater during the winter time and just dried out. I am not sure, I’m sorry, I cannot give you a definite answer, that has not happened to me. If there’s anyone in the comments who knows or if this has happened to you would you please chime in and let us know what you have experienced? Thank you so very much.🌹hugs!

      TH makes money hand over fist, if it works why not try it especially if you can’t get a bottle of the same color ink to re-ink. I think this is brilliant!

  • @quadronaut
    @quadronaut 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You don't have re-inker? You totally will have spare glycerin lying around!!!

    • @sarahmoss4224
      @sarahmoss4224 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thing is you can use glycerin to revamp your embossing pad for years too so it's s cheap fix

      Actually, if you are into stamping images, you will need glycerine, distilled water and a little Johnson’s baby soap to make stamp cleaner…so it is kinda a thing to have it around…

      I don’t have any revitaliser but do have glycerine! But I add a little water too. Glycerine helps the moister spread and remain. It is in hand cream. Hand cream might even work but it might not dry out on the paper.

    • @MrsKernowGeek
      @MrsKernowGeek 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For those on a budget, a single bottle of glycerin would be more sensible than every different colour re-inker though.. So makes sense to grab one product to revitalise several ink pads?
