The fact every switch video on this channel uses a neo70 is very nice. Not only does that say it’s user friendly having to constantly remove and attach parts but also makes comparisons viable
This is such a high quality video, the editing and production is just so good. You really do never disappoint with your videos man. While I do love your switch reviews, I definitely wouldn't mind more keyboard reviews like this :) Also your voice is really soothing
I like that you are showing many different combinations in sound test. Other youtubers usually show only one which isn't enough imho. My only suggestion would be to make this segment a little longer. Great video! :)
thanks for the review! Would love to see the details of the various configs you put together even just for reference for what sort of switch/plate/mountings resulted in those sounds. Hoping that Neo / QK eventually makes a 60% gummy o ring with a weight, most of those boards tend to be more expensive, and it seems like they could sell enough volume to bring the price down.
Just bought this keyboard a week ago wanting it to be my first aluminum keyboard I wanted this to be my real first custom keyboard ranging from way to much time on TH-cam finding the right switches and what keycaps to get and one thing ill say as this channel has made it really helpful I have decided to go with the CF plate and put some Gateron Baby Raccoon switches into the board to hopefully get a more clacky smooth experience typing but nothing to strong like with a tactile switch if you ever see this I would like to thank you in my couple hour journey of making this truly "Custom" keyboard
I would love to see reviews for ortholinear or even split keyboards like the Corne and Lilly58. After using a Corne for a few months, I can't see myself switching back to a traditional keyboard layout.
Another excellent video, thank you! I just finished a Neo65 using the FR4, all foam and Gat Oil Kings, and PBTfans Subarashi, super thocky and smooth! Might pick this up for my wife! After lubing there stabs I felt they were more than tight enough once on the board so didn't install the extra tabs.
I got the same plate for my Neo65 but with Boba U4T switches (ordered from Milktooth) and boi she’s loud 😅. Thinking of grabbing some gat oil king to try it out
Outside of older (vintage) boards I too started with the with the Poker, specifically the Vortex Pok3r RGB and also the Varmilo VA87M. It's quite amazing how far the hobby has come and how comparatively accessible it has become. PCBs were all solder only, and switch options were just either half a dozen Cherry ones or their Gateron knock-offs. And good keycaps were hard to find outside of expensive GMK or SP SA groupbuys. Got the Neo70 and Neo Ergo on order as I'm curious as to how they are.
After my experience with the Neo65: quick fulfilment, excellent build experience, and top notch overall quality... I'm definitely going to pick up a Neo70... really hoping for the Alice to be tented but still will buy even if it's not.
Just ordered a Silver one. I think I will use the Mw Twrminal v2 keycaps. I was struggling between red and silver but after this video i finally decided
Considering these boards are in many ways aimed at first time buyers of custom mechanicals, I find it a little dishonest how QK keep advertising these as “in-stock”. People who bought the ‘in-stock’ neo65 through vendors during R1 back in august still have not recieved their boards. Waiting for a custom board 3-4 months is not unheard of, but i fear the misleading will scare newcomers away from the hobby. I really don’t get why they can’t just be transparent about the buying proces
Thank you for sharing that: it's crucial that first-time buyers have a clear understanding of what to expect when entering the world of custom mechanical keyboards. In regards to the Neo65 orders, do you know if the ones placed directly through QK have been shipped out already? Would be helpful to understand the full scope of the situation.
@@milktoothnu According to the discord, six rounds of neo65 have been fulfilled/shipped for direct buyers. It’s still a preorder in my book, albeit a very quick one. Buying directly is only available in america though, the rest of the world must go through regional vendors. Again - the buying experience is not bad IMO, it’s just advertised as something vastly different than it actually is and i think buyers should be aware.
Agreed. The difference in fulfillment times between buying direct from QK versus those of regional vendors can be quite confusing. It's a point to improve on in their future offerings.
When I look at your site I can see how sincere you are about it
It's the best place for switches, and keeps getting better.

Always great to see another milktooth upload. Thanks for always being such a cool cat 😎
I've purchased several sets of switches from them and the prices and shipping was excellent. Highly recommended!

Great review and awesome work with all the different kind of switches. Even the blues, that caused me internal pain xD

Yes, my bad-used gasket mount for all the configs in this vid.
@@milktoothnuthanks for the reply! that’s helpful to know!

@@qwertykeys2119 can you please send me a keyboard for a video
I started with the Pok3r too. Now I have a Neo65 and Envoy.

Just ordered one~
What are the keycaps with arabic script you are using in this video? Specifically at 3:35
Hammerworks
thankyou, great stuff at Milktooth btw, given me so many ideas for switches to try@@milktoothnu
can i see the epomaker matte switches in the neo? i feel ike it would sound insane.
The stabs are PCB mount clip-in, so assembly would be much easier if you have a pair of tweezers to handle the stoppers.
Hello, I've juste noticed that the keycaps are graved in arabic as well, where did you finde that?
it would be nice to add this to the collection
I wonder how mx browns on alu with no foam would sound
Could you do a sound test with all 5 plates using the same switch and build configuration for each one?
Great idea: I will do that in the upcoming video
I would love to hear full foams Gateron oil kings lubed and filmed ty
Make a build using gateron North Pole switches with pom plate and foam
Gateron milky yellow pro with pom plate
Imagine if we had these modular PCBs with hall effect sensors for magnetic switches.
good point but not for this one
Polycorbanate with MOONSTONE Turbo Switches!
quite confused between Cycle 7 and Neo 70, but i prefer the design of Neo 70 than Cycle 7
I would by this if it shipped to me 😢
fr4/oil kings?
Sound test of PC and Oil kings , or cream sodas
the classic, cherry mx blacks on alu with gmk caps
👍
