Hello nice video ; D btw I have a question and I dont know if u can solve my doubt but what is the diference about the turzx screen 2.1 and the other who have the separate cables, there are differences about the quality of display or something more apart from the removable cables and the aida software? thanks in advance
You mean all those 3 screens from TurzX? They are from the same brand, just having different sizes and different shapes. There is no significant difference between having the cable connected to the display and having the cable separate. None of those screens can use AIDA64, they all use proprietary software.
I've been looking into these, but to be honest, I'm not thrilled about installing software from some janky, no name, Chinese company. I just want the screen.
You can still use them the play video, and in that case, you don´t need that software, but obviously that usage is quite limiting. Another option is to use a third-party open source python scripts, but those are currently only for the small display, not for the big one or the round one. Hopefully someone will update those scripts for the other displays as well... otherwise, the display (display panel) quality is great.
@@upir_upir my brother bought 1 of those and I am plannig to buy one after buying a 250 dollar aio (in my country). Shit's expensive , especially in context to where I live.
hello, first of all such a nice and informative video. Second, can i use this system to convert an aold tablet into a system panel without doing much tampering
Thank you for your comment, but unfortunately what you plan is not possible with this display/software. You can convert old tablet into a system panel, but you need to use a different software.
Nice video, Is there anyway you can display NZXT cam on that IPS screen?. Or do you have to use Aida-64?. I'm looking at purchasing one of these devices myself.
Unfortunately, that´s not possible. This screen will only work with the provided software (Not AIDA64). It´s not a HDMI screen, but connected via USB-C connector, so it does not act as an external screen.
Unfortunately not. All the other screens support video playback, but not the smallest 3.5" screen. That one is quite limited in many other ways, compared to the other screens.
Probably not. You still need to send some graphical data to the display, and Arduino simply does not have enough power. You can get it working with other microcontrollers, like Raspberry PI - github.com/mathoudebine/turing-smart-screen-python
@@upir_upir I think issue with Arduino is more lack of a USB host port, not the data rate as the serial port speed is only 115200bps. Maybe an esp32s3 or rp2040 running Micropython perhaps?
Not for those displays, you need to look for HDMI external displays, for example the ones made for Raspberry PI. Those Turzx displays do not work as external displays.
You can always try to run some online anti-virus scan. I did it, and it found nothing. You cannot be obviously 100% sure, but I don´t think it´s a security issue. If you have the smallest display, there are some community-made python script that you can use, and you don´t need to use the provided software.
Unfotunately not with the same displays. You can connect only one display of a kind - so one small, one big, and one round. Maybe they will fix this in the next version of the display..
Hi!) My screen not working, 3.5 inch:((.. Please tell me, in the device manager in the port parameters, how many bits per second, how many data bits, is there parity and what flow control?
Thanks for the review just received mine in the mail too. Do you know if you can fully rotate the displays? (0, 90, 180 ,270) for the 2.1 inch and 5 inch?
You are welcome. Yes, you can rotate all the displays. In the case of 5inch, you can rotate it by 0 or 180 degrees for both vertical and horizontall orientation. You can rotate the round one by 90° increments since the width is the same as height and there is no differentiation between vertical and horizontal layout.
Thank you for your video, you helped me so much. Well I'll plan to buy the 3,5 inch, could you please tell me, I'm so curious, what are the disadvantages of the 3.5 inch compared to the 5 inch other than size, I heard the 5 inch much better than that one. +1 sub and like from Indonesia my friend.
Thank you for your comment. The screen quality is great for the small one, but the provided software is very limited compared to the bigger versions. You cannot play the background video and creating the themes is very limited - for example you can only set one font. Try watching my other videos about the Turzx screens to get a sense of what´s available. You can also download all the software and try it on your own before buying the displays. Hope that helps!
It cannot act as a normal external display- you can only use it with a dedicated application, and that’s at least for now unfortunately only for PC. For the small display, there are some Python scripts for other OSes, but not for the bigger and the round one.

I don´t think that is related to the display, but rather your PC configuration. It seems like (some) USB ports are still on after the shutdown - that might be intentional. Perhaps use a different USB port or try to configure it to turn off? I´m sure google will know more about that.
Friend, good morning!!! I have a 3.5 display similar to yours that is connected to the PC via a USB C cable. This week I bought an Acegeek watercooler that has a display with the temperature on the pump itself, however when installing the program to work the display the 3.5 screen remains white. The watercooler is connected to USB directly on the motherboard (like this round video screen) What can I do? Could you help me?
can you do a video on how to customize the the 8.8" display? how much memory comes in the display and how big of an SD card should I use, I feel like 32gb is overkill for this, can I just use a 1,2, or 4 GB card? I just got the 8.8 and installed it and I am just playing around with the themes but haven't tried to customize anything yet, also the screen will not turn off when I put the PC in sleep mode, I guess it is a bug ,do you know of any fix besides using python which is not yet available for the 8.8 yet I think. some of the included themes I would just like to change the colors and maybe the video is that possible?
@@upir_upir I have just been playing with it I got one metric for the CPU Temp working on my own theme but not sure how to set the background. The thing is acting really strange with sleep though. So I tried to stop the display and then end task on turzx before putting it to sleep and now the PC will go to sleep and all the RGB goes off but now the screen stays on again. Software seems really buggy. So have you had any pro with the 8.8 staying on in sleep or shut down?

@@upir_upir that good to know , i just love theming my pc , currently using their ready made theme and working with it. anything will do , for now tho , anything futuristic/cyberpunky
You can use it to store video files, either for displaying it on the background of the theme, or for using the displays as a very simple video player. In that case, it does not even have to be connected to PC. As for the file system, I believe it´s mentioned in the documentation when you download the software. I have used it for the round display, but that one has the SD card already populated.
If the display photo looks the same, it´s most likely the same display and you can use the software. I know that many times, the name "Turzx" is not listed, and sometime you might even find an information that it could be used with AIDA64. I guess the translation is not always right.

I am trying to find out how to play videos on this device, but I am having a hard time (round 2.1" device). I have gotten them to work in two ways. 1. Load as a background image. This works but you hvae to select a theme, and there is no blank theme. There is the text theme but I can't seem to edit it to remove the words Input Text. It would be nice if there were some actual instructions for this software. It's buggy, poorly documented and sparse. 2. Load in the Device section. This works but you cannot rotate the video. There is an "Album Flips 180" check box but it doesn't seem to do anything. I finally found that you have to rotate the GIF 90 degrees before you load it (if you want the cable facing down), so all of them need to be rotated before being saved to the internal memory depending on the orientation of the unit.. Fantastic hardware but the software is pretty bad. Really needs some refining.
Agree about the software being quite bad, expecially compared to hardware. I wish someone would release a third party software to controll those screens, that would be great.
Those screens can only be used with the dedicated software that comes with the display. Someone created Python scripts for the smaller one, but not yet for the bigger ones. Another usage is that you can use it for playing video, in that case, you don´t need to use any software.

Hello, this Software looks nice... to you know which Displays are useable?
Can i use any USB-Monitor?
This software only works with Turzx screens, not any other brand.
Very nice video, Can you tell if 3.5 inch display can show game fps?
Thank you. The smaller screen is quite limited, I don’t believe it can show FPS.
How can I use it to just display what's on the SD card? Also, would happen to know how to use the Python scripts? I tried, but it was confusing 😅
Like the bigger brand softwares are any better lmao.
Heh. All your items including underwears are made in China
What about the 8.8" one that has the SD slot does that also use turzx software

Your better of just using an old tablet with space desk software this way you can use aida 64
How can I change the network setting from MB/s to Kbit/s, please? I can't find it in the settings.
Thanks for the video, can I play videos on the 3.5 screen? Thanks
Unfortunately not. All the other screens support video playback, but not the smallest 3.5" screen. That one is quite limited in many other ways, compared to the other screens.
@@upir_upir Thank you
You are welcome!
The displays are really looking nice. I am wondering whether they could be used with Arduino?
Probably not. You still need to send some graphical data to the display, and Arduino simply does not have enough power. You can get it working with other microcontrollers, like Raspberry PI - github.com/mathoudebine/turing-smart-screen-python
@@upir_upir Many thanks!
@@upir_upir I think issue with Arduino is more lack of a USB host port, not the data rate as the serial port speed is only 115200bps. Maybe an esp32s3 or rp2040 running Micropython perhaps?
@@jonathanpeace3167 Well, with enough speed you can simulate anything, but Arduino is just slow for those tasks.
It can be customize to put videos ????
Yes, you can play either a GIF file or video and in that case, you don´t even have to have that connected to your PC.
Is there a way to turn off this screen when my pc turns off? ERP does not work and I love the screen just I need it off when I turn the pc off
Do you have it connected directly to the motherboard, or to the USB port?
I just want to use it as normal display, without temperature and such things, is that possible??
Not for those displays, you need to look for HDMI external displays, for example the ones made for Raspberry PI. Those Turzx displays do not work as external displays.
@ ah ok, thanks bro
Is the software a big security issue? That's probably my biggest concern.
You can always try to run some online anti-virus scan. I did it, and it found nothing. You cannot be obviously 100% sure, but I don´t think it´s a security issue. If you have the smallest display, there are some community-made python script that you can use, and you don´t need to use the provided software.
Very useful....cheers.
Thank you! :)
you gave me an idea... what if I use 2 of the same display.. will it work?
Unfotunately not with the same displays. You can connect only one display of a kind - so one small, one big, and one round. Maybe they will fix this in the next version of the display..
So these don’t work with just hdmi video pass through? Like a regular monitor..?
That´s correct, there is no HDMI port for those screens, you can only use them with the dedicated software.
Can you use the round display on a raspberr Pi 4?
Not this one, this could only be used with the dedicated software. But there are many other round screens for RPI.
Hi!) My screen not working, 3.5 inch:((.. Please tell me, in the device manager in the port parameters, how many bits per second, how many data bits, is there parity and what flow control?
I´m sorry to hear that, I have always kept the default settings, I would probably try to remove the device driver and install it again.
How do you make the time to not show 24 hour format? That's the ONLY thing I don't like about mine.
There is unfortunately probably not such an option. I wish someone would create a 3rd party application for those displays.

I wonder how the longevity of those screens is..I read quite often that they stop working after a few months..Anyone any long term usage opinion?^^
I have them for a year and they are still running fine.
Which Display do you recommend for AIDA64?
Any display should do the trick. Surely I would look for either IPS or OLED display, but the size and dimensions depends on your needs.
Is the 3.5 inch capable of putting video in the background? If yes, could you make a video teaching this? pls
Unfortunately not, the smallest display cannot play video, only the bigger one and the round one.
Great i need this monitor! Just want to ask are these support to display for windows/MacOS, i mean can it work like an normal PC monitor? Thank you.
It cannot act as a normal external display- you can only use it with a dedicated application, and that’s at least for now unfortunately only for PC. For the small display, there are some Python scripts for other OSes, but not for the bigger and the round one.
@@upir_upir Do you mean that if I run it with a Python script I can have it in the background on my Windows desktop? You can teach me? I am looking to leave as an alternative to aida64

Yes i run them in admin mode, does a screen need to be pluged in to work on software
There is a way to let them turn off correctly after my pc shutdown? Because somethimes they are still on, but I dont want to enable deep sleep.
I don´t think that is related to the display, but rather your PC configuration. It seems like (some) USB ports are still on after the shutdown - that might be intentional. Perhaps use a different USB port or try to configure it to turn off? I´m sure google will know more about that.

I´m sorry, it´s hard to tell what´s wrong. Could you ask in the official Turzx forum?

Not if that´s the HDMI screen. You need to have the 8.8 Turzx screen, that one only has the USB-C connection.
Friend, good morning!!! I have a 3.5 display similar to yours that is connected to the PC via a USB C cable. This week I bought an Acegeek watercooler that has a display with the temperature on the pump itself, however when installing the program to work the display the 3.5 screen remains white. I checked in the root of the driver that they are the same and I think that for this reason one cannot project the image (generally the 3.5" screen). The watercooler is connected to USB directly on the motherboard (like this round video screen) What can I do? Could you help me?
Can you try running those python scripts instead of the provided application? That might help.
can you do a video on how to customize the the 8.8" display?
how much memory comes in the display and how big of an SD card should I use, I feel like 32gb is overkill for this, can I just use a 1,2, or 4 GB card?
I just got the 8.8 and installed it and I am just playing around with the themes but haven't tried to customize anything yet, also the screen will not turn off when I put the PC in sleep mode, I guess it is a bug ,do you know of any fix besides using python which is not yet available for the 8.8 yet I think.
some of the included themes I would just like to change the colors and maybe the video is that possible?
Yep, I do have that 8.8" display for a while, I might as well record a video. Let me see what´s possible.

@@upir_upir I have just been playing with it
I got one metric for the CPU Temp working on my own theme but not sure how to set the background.
The thing is acting really strange with sleep though.
At first the screen would stay on in sleep then it started going to sleep and waking with the PC, then I had to change the shutdown color setting for my Corsair vengeance ram in signal RGB and after I did that when I went to manually put it to sleep it would wake up again after all my RGB flashing between MB and signal RGB effects.
So I tried to stop the display and then end task on turzx before putting it to sleep and now the PC will go to sleep and all the RGB goes off but now the screen stays on again.
Software seems really buggy.
So have you had any pro with the 8.8 staying on in sleep or shut down?
did you test if these displays are displaying accurate info because i saw many people complaining about that
It´s not about the displays or the software, but also about how the system reports those data. It will never be 100% accurate, but I haven´t seen anything highly unusual.
So the software is ony good for these screens? I turned my old android in to a 2nd monitor for the purpose of using it as a touchscreen system monitor. I can't fund any free software to use for it though near as I can tell you have to buy AIDIA64 and that sucks.
That’s correct, you can use the software only with this particular screen. For external monitor, you need to use Aida64 or some other application.
is the software compatible with linux? (specifically mint, since that's what i'm using), was just wondering before i decide to buy one and i couldnt find an answer anywhere
The only display tha you can use with Linux is the smallest one (3.5"), with Python scripts, not with the official software. The official software only supports Windows. Hope that was helpful.

Does the TURZX app work with any screen or it has to be a specific screen ? There is so many on amazon they all look the same will any work ?
If the display photo looks the same, it´s most likely the same display and you can use the software. I know that many times, the name "Turzx" is not listed, and sometime you might even find an information that it could be used with AIDA64. I guess the translation is not always right.

I finally found that you have to rotate the GIF 90 degrees before you load it (if you want the cable facing down), so all of them need to be rotated before being saved to the internal memory depending on the orientation of the unit..
