I figured out Varric pretty much at the start, and had to grieve him through the entire game. Not sure if I was happy for that or if I'd have rather lived in blissful ignorance until the end

I don't trust the gryphons to return to the Greywardens. They've been used enough by them, for me it was an easy choice, they should remain in the wild, they were forced to be soldiers. The Greywardens were able to continue the fight against the Rot without them.

You can absolutely get faction points by selling to that merchant. In my second playthrough, I sided with Minrathous and got Crows up to 3 stars before Weisshaupt by exclusively selling to that spirit merchant.

This game really makes you think and feel about every single decision you made in the game

I was one of the few (probably) who did not punch the First Warden and I was happy to see that outcome. I've read the book with Isseya as a main character and was rather sad to see her like that. I wouldn't want her slain and die as a crazed darkspawn. She did not deserve it. At least here she came to her senses in the end.

Fwiw: when you come to the gold Fen'Harel statues, Harding will say something like you did ... that it's not something Solas would do. That his "followers" (or something like that) must have put them up. 💜 (Everyone else says something like "yep, Solas is so full of himself ..." but I think the difference is because Harding knew Solas from DAI ... so, different perspectives from different times.)

OMG, of course people are being weird about Isabela's scene 🙄 Sometimes, I have to wonder if they even played DA2. That whole scene fits perfectly with Isabela's character. And it's another example of being in control of the buttons you press - they don't have to ask those questions if they don't care about/hate the topic so much.

the grifters are wild, they act like you're forced to do thing when you're not just like that one man literally made a trans character and was outranged when it was a dialogue option okay then don't make a trans character? and like you said, isabela doing it isn't forcing the player character to they thrive off of out of context rage bait i thought the scene was so cute

Also, in regard to your game struggling, I struggle more on all minimum settings. and I still enjoyed it a LOT. lowering some settings might help your stuff up a bit, if you want to do that.

My first romance was going to be Harding, then I met with Bellara and I made my Warden to romance her. Now, because I saw how this end, because of the choice I made in my first playthrough, I *have* to Romance Neve. I might need to do a Dwarven playthrough for Harding.

I felt it so hard when you started putting the pieces together about Varric. I was about here when I started noticing something was not right, and him not looking like he was healing when Neve (that is who I picked to help me during the ritual) was already healed.

I'm really glad you made some major award winning decisions with your Dragon Age Veil Guard playthrough because it's so many beautiful gut wrenching moments

So I finally watched this and I so wanna jump through the screen and give you the biggest hug. I noticed the engagement thing a little earlier, but went through the exact same feels.

I chose to revive Manfred because...Well the argument being made of "Accepting mortality by letting him rest" didn't make sense to me, because Emmrich wants to become a Lich specifically to avoid mortality. Yes he has to "die" to achieve it, but not in a meaningful way. To me his arc of accepting death is more complete by trading away his immortality.

I must admit I played the game 4 times now and I never chose the Manfred option, I reloaded after the first time. I felt so uncomfortable bc Emmrich was so clear with wanting lichdom and letting Manfred rest. I felt like Rook was talking Emmrich into it for their own sake and it made me super uncomfortable so I reloaded. I am happier with the Lich choice... EDIT: so idk if you show your second play through too but I'd love to see your reaction to the Lich path ☺️

I've played Emmrich's story both ways, and I can confidently say that Emmrich is happy in both outcomes. Ultimately I decided Manfred lives most of the time, but when I romance Emmrich I get Bone Daddy, and I figure we just set up a memorial for Manfred.

I had to save Manfred. I love him too much to let him go.

I chose to let Emmrich become a Lich at first but ended up loading back after a short time to change it to save Manfred. But I have played a mourn watch rook that encouraged Emmrich to become a Lich too. My favorite choice is to keep Manfred. Some things in the game are a little cheesy but in a sort of funny way or at least trying to be? I think that’s why it comes off as immature at times. The writing in a few places definitely could have used some polishing. But also that weird bit with Emmrich when Manfred gets destroyed kind of reminds me of how I react to someone in danger. Not so dramatic as he 😂 but I do freeze up and physically can’t react for a time. I think it’s trauma related.

Dragon Age Veil Guard Should definitely add some major updates especially when you're thinking about the side quests in the game

Not sure if you’ll see this now, but I managed to get to Skyhold with all my mods working by making my game window really small! I clicked and dragged the size of the window down until the cutscene loaded :3 hopefully this works in your next play through hehe

This game finds many ways to break your heart. I feel the same way you do about this.

Once I caught on to what was going on with Varric (also during one of these meetings) I cried for a whole day and had to take a break from the game.

I love Solas, but my Inquisitor didn't romance him and I've always been very anti his plans and very much of the mindset that he's a complex character who has good qualities but is also a lying liar who lies. So, that's probably why my suspicions were raised right at the start of the game - in your first chat, he says "Varric is -" and you can tell stops himself from saying it. and switches to the lie. Then I noticed that no one would talk to Varric in cutscenes 😭 The end still hit me like a tonne of bricks though. I've never cried so much at a game.

since you finished the game now, i got spoiled so i kind of knew this was the case most of my playthrough i wish i could have figured it out myself which i guess i kind of did from the spoiler? but it seemed fairly obvious bc someone posted on twitter 'why do none of the companions visit varric, he seems so lonely' and a reply was 'well, there is a reason for that...' so it wasn't like a DIRECT spoiler but i can put two and two together

I think you'll enjoy it - I'm romancing Neve at the moment with a Grey Warden Rook, she's so great, they're so cute together - I was so close to romancing Neve with my first Rook as she grew on me a lot, but Harding won out hehe and I'm glad she did as her romance is great too ☺

We caught on to Varric at the same time 😅 it was the meeting after saving the Dalish. I noticed he was looking really rough still. I thought to myself, "Why does it look like there is blood in your hair. You still seem bruised. Have you not showered yet, Varric? Harding would never... no... no, no, no..." *shut the game off to cope and cried in the shower* 🤣🫂🖤
