@@WaywardEko I appreciate your response and your efforts in giving us the information we need in a timely manner. However, I can't quite understand why it's so hard to improve the performance to the latest or at least to a better standard. I know that the developers are not a big company, like EA etc. This problem has been one of the big issues for years, which is why many players have stopped playing the game. I can understand that. How are you going to generate more money if you work around the main problem for years and release more versions of the game where only a few relevant things are replaced or improved? Some of these things don't even make sense. Learning by doing and action skills, for example, were very good extensions like in Undead Legacy. Many players would like to come back as it is a great game and allows for the new standard of survival play.
Yeah ... I hear you on this one ... as someone who has a heavy duty rig and still struggles for frames. My hope is that now that they have the Australian crew working on the console version in the same database ... that there will be some learnings. Also the have to optimize the same codebase to work on console ... that alone should push the optimization angle.
Given that 7 days is supposed to take place in a fictional part of Arizona called Navezgane, and also will eventually include a full Indian casino to represent the basis of the Duke of Navezgane; it can be inferred that the “native” option for races is Native American
@@mrlag4972 I had the opposite effect. I want to explore and build. The op trader was actually a selling point to bring people on board for me. I believe my last mention was me telling someone that the traders were actually useful in this game.
I feel so bad for the modders they are going to have their hands full sorting out all the changes and making them compatible with their mods i know they will come through but man don't expect any of your mods to be out in 1.0 for at least a few months i would say to all the modders out there keep up the great work!!
Oh no the "heat" problem......look basic spikes early game solve the issue for a time, then after you build a anti spawn horde heat crafting base (mini fort) that auto kills/stalls zombies, and you never have to worry about it again. This mini fort crafting base is also usually a really really good horde base or you at least can make a horde base that can be attached to it. With this mini fort, you just spam water purifiers up top and bam no problems. Heck I never skip picking up murky water or such on looting, and just what I find alone that way by quest spamming is usually more then what I need for food (the water I need is usually for glue making). So all a dew collector for me is glue water mats. The few items you personally craft, or other such stations that you wont be mass producing with can stay in your main base, and you just use basic defenses and your great. Really unless they change the event to be drastically different on heat spawning, you will never need to really worry. I need bandits or the game is just in a Pre-main release state. aka I wont count it as full release until I see bandits!
Ah the good old plains, I loved that biome. Probably get that back when they put that scream on horde night back in the game, those bell chimes ruined it for me
@@WaywardEko the last Alpha I played on console was Alpha 16. They didn't have the plains when I switched to PC about 6 years ago. I THINK they replaced that wicked scream for horde night in Alpha 18
I'd rather have a RNG chance of different unique attribute(ex: movement speed, crit resist and etc) for the armor when crafting/looting, instead of it being a static attribute. Locking people into a outfit set seems so backwards.
I think they wanted them intentionally themed ... if it's the look that you are concerned about ... it sounds like the wardrobe system coming in the first content drop will allow you to reskin based on other armor you have found.
Note style comment from me per usual xD. Hope I can still do my crazy blue hair, and then proceed to cover it anyway. xD Those glasses look atrocious...Having to take up 2 mod slots for max pockets will be a bit of a nuisance, esp as going to have fewer slots as it is. I realllly hope they don't make each outfit waaay different between genders and that all the female versions aren't skanky... Glad there is zombie outfit colour variation now, it's not much, but better than nothing. I think they should have just gone with the dismemberment, the blood spray is over the top. Storage upgrade, yes! I actually like the look of the challenge system, esp for new players, gives something to work through. Hoping some of the new trader dialogue at least drops more hints towards the lore. Trader quest rewards absolutely needed to be nerfed. I hold no stock on how long it took them to get to end game, everyone plays at a diff pace, and those of use who know what we're doing could probs rush it if we really wanted to. Thanks for the recap Eko =)
@@WaywardEko It will just be nice to not have to destroy the old chests and remake new ones. I wonder if they are removing nails from the game, cause other than the chests and furniture... what else were they even used for? Tho.. I guess could still have them for said, furniture.
Waw, a lot more good changes and also so much more dumbing down andstill no bandits, even tho modders figured out that shiz many alphas ago.... so frustrating.
It is a little apples/oranges on modders vs base game - they don't have to worry about optimization or folks coming behind them and adding additional mods. That said ... the overpromising of bandits for years now is rage fuel.
I dont know if im the only one but i feel they changed to much with the customization of clothes and armor all that i really think that did need to be updated were models, textures, maybe the traders and animations
@@WaywardEko i understand that since in one of the stream they did mention clipping issues with the armor, adding remaking or modeling the clothes might of been a bit much i guess.
@@WaywardEko Yeah microtransactions drive me crazy! If it's only cosmetic overlays for existing armor sets, that's not so bad. But just imagine if they had a "Wasteland Warrior" outfit that was super overpowered, that you had to pay 10 dollars for it. That'd be so crappy >_< I hate pay to win games
Wonder if xbox will be forgotten shortly after release again, with the zombies infinitely spawning again. Hope not, enjoyed the game till hell broke loose forever lol
They own the rights again and even brought in an third party shop to accelerate console release. I don't think they'd abandon it after all that investment.
still wish they would revert farming and go back to learning by crafting and using instead of of the book system which is too random unless you keep a tight playstyle. I prefer jack of all trades to a fault cuz thats how i am irl. kinda hard to do in game when books are so random with that many skills invested into
@@WaywardEko at one time before greedy corporations got involved a game was made and your money taken.... If anything that didn't make the game in time including skins and anything else including mechanics they were added afterwards free because you had already bought the game... Water too easy to get -> remove ability gather water from water sources and add Dew collector Water too hard to get -> make dew collector trivial to build so now its just a space waster as you can spam them Sorry but sometimes these devs dont know what they want in terms of balance. Either make a hard game or not. Also weird thing that water is always the goto, when getting ammo and weapons early is way too easy with quests
Go check out the 2nd dev stream recap - th-cam.com/video/JQl706zI4Qw/w-d-xo.html Traders Inventory & Quest Rewards are getting nerfed into the dirt finally.
I think it's more that there was a lift when they remade character models ... they had to rework the armor at that point to avoid clipping. Less is better for hitting timelines. That said - I FULLY expect armor for DLC sale.
Sick of content creators saying the traders made it too easy and they didnt want to be with end game loot by the end of the second week. Well stop bum rushing the end game then. You play the game like an optimized robot of course you're going to have the best stuff super early. You sink thousands of hours into the game and some how expect every other joe to have that same efficency so thus the game is too easy for everyone because its too easy for you. Ever think that content creators are the problem eh? YOU'RE THE BLOODY COMMON DENOMINATOR.
Your judgement is out of control. I love this game and do tutorials to teach people of all skill levels how to build bases and survive. I get a pitiful amount of income from it with my focus on building community, showing new features, and condensing information for people to learn and grow faster. I recognize that I outskill the general player but I give back to the community 10 fold. What do you do you fucking keyboard warrior bitching without contributing. I've gamed my entire life and study game theory ... and the current 7dtd system is fucked because it allows for exploitation due to bad design. The trader system is busted and has been. Do I think us creators are the problem .. nope ... we are busting our asses for pennies being judged by people like you who don't give anything back ... just judge.
the dew collector thing has literally took all enjoyment away from the game its stupid not fun but a enjoyment killer i uninstalled the game because of it joel sounds like hes destroying this game
@@WaywardEko Any link where? I have been holding the torch every update since Alpha 1(I am a kick start supporter) and the devs have ignored my question every update for 10 years. The mods would lock my thread and say "it's early access" Well, it is released now, and the devs have rebuilt nearly every aspect of the game except the food-which did have custom in game icons on your hand at one point. It does nothing for gameplay, but everything for immersion.
To be completely honest I was excited for the 1.0 but now not so much. It will just be the same old janky game it always has been with very little added and done to it to just raise the price like everything else. I hope I'm wrong but I don't thinks so I'm a 40 year old gamer and have seen this shit for years. Its how to do less as possible to get the most out of it. The game needs a complete make over to fit into days time. The game shows its age very well. Don't get me wrong I have had my fun with it but it dont look like there will be enough to bring me back but we will see. Games are getting worse nowadays most that come out are not even finished yet. It's like buying a new car but without a engine. I dont think there should be a price increase ok so what does 1.0 mean and it's their words more to come after 1.0 so what's the point of leaving early access if it obviously is not done yet 🤔
The one thing in here for me is if they finally fix progression. That alone will make it feel much better. Will it feel like a newer game ... nope. Nothing short of a full rework will do that.
you obviosuly havent been paying attention, they have made huge progress on the efficiency of the game and new animations/models/graphics. It is not going to be 'old' and 'janky'
@@WaywardEko Still i dont belive them. I think they said that wasnt in alpha anymore just to farm more money from people at this point. The price was rised a lot. I mean i played 1.5k+ hours on steam and i really like game but they failed many times to fix stuff to even admit that some mods like "undead legacy" was better than the original game with some features that the game lacks. Lets hope they really start taking updates and giving actual content cuz game like its now its kinda boring at the endgame "if it has a real endgame".
I hope they nerf the shit out of traders, its kinda dumb that you can get everything without investing time in rescources gathering and book hunting. I mean getting Tactical Assault Rifle level 4 as soon as day 5 in quest rewards in vanilla at standard 100% XP? I would also love if it was harder to obtain food and water, this is survival game too, right?
It's TFPs game, if they want to put together this armour system then they are totally entitled to do so. They've been working on the title for over a decade, who.. tf.. am I to tell them what should be in the game or not? Especially as I bought my game for a pittance on release and have 10's of 1000s of hours played. Nope I should have nothing to complain about... ...BUT... ...that fucking armour system, my God it's shit. Like really shit.
Curious ... can you unpack why? The sets look way better than the old. Clothing from a visual was mostly covered up by armor. The biggest loss is slots but we also gain new unique bonues.

I knew what they meant ... it was the ? on it.
I am so happy that they are nerfing trader quest progressions. The rewards are so busted op.
Me too. Has been hella unbalanced for some time.
Fr I wanna grind not lose interest in a week
@@mrlag4972 I had the opposite effect. I want to explore and build. The op trader was actually a selling point to bring people on board for me. I believe my last mention was me telling someone that the traders were actually useful in this game.
how bout adding options for low end pc to turn off textures completely and have more fps optimization for players with not very good devices
Would be a good option ... not sure if they coding things to allow for that switch though.
I'd like to see some higher quality world textures / shaders next
I'm afraid most PCs would explode.
@@WaywardEko fair lol but anyone with a like 3060 or higher could handle it
I feel so bad for the modders they are going to have their hands full sorting out all the changes and making them compatible with their mods i know they will come through but man don't expect any of your mods to be out in 1.0 for at least a few months i would say to all the modders out there keep up the great work!!
Yup - looking forward to the new UL personally.
cant wait for the story mode :D
I'm curious to see how that plays as well!
where s fps for my pc? pleace give patch
Performance / optimization is included.
Will have to wait for next year for the bandits. The heat issue w/ dew collectors is more for community servers. Solo games not an issue.
Aww The strong traders was always an appeal to me.
Oh yeah - they have been the most efficient path to excel … but they have been hella busted :)
LIKE IF YOU ARE A CRAZY FANATIC AND PASSIONATE ABOUT 7 DAYS TO DIE! 💪😌
IS IT STILL UNOPTIMIZED? I HAVE RTX 3060 AND IT LAGS
We won't know until we get to jump in and play!
Great summary! Always love me some WaywardEko! (and he's such a sexy beast)
Thanks so much!!
Can't wait when they add zombie bosses and bandits, It will definitely have people on there toes.
I look forward to the challenge!
it's just crazy to see the changes good and bad throughout the years playing 7DTD. I just wished they bring back the plains biome for the next update
Ah the good old plains, I loved that biome. Probably get that back when they put that scream on horde night back in the game, those bell chimes ruined it for me
Which alpha was that?
@@WaywardEko the last Alpha I played on console was Alpha 16. They didn't have the plains when I switched to PC about 6 years ago. I THINK they replaced that wicked scream for horde night in Alpha 18
@@WaywardEko It was between A15-A16.
@@w0lf1969 very true man, that scream was something else, same with that weird ambient scream in the wasteland they got rid of.
Learn the definition of logistical. Thanks for the information anyway!
Quite welcome!
Wednesday June 5th today 🤙⚖️✅
Was an excellent day!
Looking nice yeah
Oh yeah!
Im gonna miss my bright blue nord...
blue nord?
@@WaywardEko bright blue skin color with a big blonde lumberjack beard
ahahah roger that!
the game has prospects for an official server
I doubt they'll do that -- easier for them to let 3rd parties manage it.
I can see cloth becoming more scarce with no clothing in the game...
Depends ... I assume they will have the clothing racks and other clothing lootable areas drop cloth.
2:00 looks like Danny Trejo XD
That was intentional!
They showed some of the female variant armors ... they didn't look horrible. I think the storage upgrades are a universal win.
When they updated character models, all the armor/clothes had to be changed ... my guess is they narrowed the scope by reducing clothing.
@@WaywardEko i understand that since in one of the stream they did mention clipping issues with the armor, adding remaking or modeling the clothes might of been a bit much i guess.
Paying real money for additional outfits is the one thing that gives me pause.
You can always choose not to get them :) I think most of the prices I see out there for skin type items is bonkers.
So 7 days becomes yet another magic armour set collecting game.
One more thing to grind for!
So do we actually get white people, or just brown white mixed?
They showed white people in the first 30 sec .... th-cam.com/video/xdlUw9XwXG0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sk0u7havuGhxdc56&t=24
I think it’s baffling they’re calling it v.1.0 when the story won’t be completed
meh - it’s a title … I still view it as snugger alpha but they have to reset the number for MS and Sony
Rip clothing customization wtf.
64 different armor pieces vs basically everyone wearing the same few pieces.
@@WaywardEko I completely missed that part, fingers crossed!!!
still wish they would revert farming and go back to learning by crafting and using instead of of the book system which is too random unless you keep a tight playstyle. I prefer jack of all trades to a fault cuz thats how i am irl. kinda hard to do in game when books are so random with that many skills invested into
I'm fine with the farming system, but I still don't care for the magazine system.
7dtd devs... i love you lol
All this tells me is they are gonna monetise the fck out of the game
They are a business ... I would expect them to figure out ways to make money ... it all depends on the 'how'
@@WaywardEko at one time before greedy corporations got involved a game was made and your money taken.... If anything that didn't make the game in time including skins and anything else including mechanics they were added afterwards free because you had already bought the game... Nowadays things that were originally cut from games due to time constraints are now added as paid dlc and skins are not that hard to do..if all the fools had stuck together thus would never be happening.... I remember the anger at oblivion horse armour lol.... Gaming is not the same anymore they are to the most part cobbled together me too games rushed out broken or buggy but they still charge you top dollar..... Every game from aaa to the worst messes that look like ps2 games being kind are charged the same that's why some decent games in the past were never picked up, price games accordingly and I bet more would be keen to take a chance on.... But greed is the norm now sadly
Water too easy to get -> remove ability gather water from water sources and add Dew collector
Water too hard to get -> make dew collector trivial to build so now its just a space waster as you can spam them
Sorry but sometimes these devs dont know what they want in terms of balance.
Either make a hard game or not. Also weird thing that water is always the goto, when getting ammo and weapons early is way too easy with quests
Go check out the 2nd dev stream recap - th-cam.com/video/JQl706zI4Qw/w-d-xo.html
Traders Inventory & Quest Rewards are getting nerfed into the dirt finally.
getting rid of clothing so they can sell glamor items I bet
I think it's more that there was a lift when they remade character models ... they had to rework the armor at that point to avoid clipping. Less is better for hitting timelines. That said - I FULLY expect armor for DLC sale.
I must say, the age and mindset of these devs shine through, when they go with race instead of skintone.
/agree
Thats a good thing isnt it
Here we go , 11 years in the making , can't wait for console version, don't worry about discount, just drop it , I,ll pay top dollar
Interesting take. Didn't really have a huge impact to me other than introducing water scarcity.
@@WaywardEkoagree. Which makes the survival game really feel like a survival game.
Food icons in hand still look like a dirty rag or paper bag. Shame, same animation and icon after 10 years.
/agree, but at least they are talking about it now.

@@WaywardEko Many thanks. At work didnt have time to watch full video yet, will watch when I g et home but thanks!
not a big fan there taking away the clothes
I'm on the fence.
@@Ironiclobster69 we will see
Years without a decent update and giving fake promises on roadmaps..... ill belive the devs once i see the real content in game.....
I mean ... hard to have fake promises on roadmaps when you don't have one :) This is the first time they've had one that I can recall.
/agree 100%. Hoping the same. I enjoy it when it feels more survival based.
