What a view! It looked like you had a lovely time there. I am like you I don't like starving so i also bring some goodies when I go out. All the best, Rob
Really enjoyed this video Paul, so well filmed and presented. Like you say a wild camp doesn't need to be spartan, bring a little bit of luxury. Well done to you. Cheers!
Excellent view and spot. Not been to Cwm Idwal for some years now. Your vid brought back memories for me. I once helped repair a drystone wall up the left slope from the lake side (looking towards the slabs). That was in the mid 80s. Looking down over Nant Ffrancon where your Go-pro was filming, you can see the Afon Ogwen flowing seawards there. To the left of that is the original road down the valley; the more modern A5 is the road to the right. I helped repair a wall along the old road there too, but the rock was completely different to Cwm Idwal, being slate. I camped out once at Llyn Ogwen and set off walking to Llanberis via Cwm Idwal. There is a public footpath up the cwm wall and it was a killer making my way up the cliff. On the summit there is a small lake called Llyn y Cwn and I plunged my feet into the icy water, as they were so hot. Nice walk over the summit down Cwm Cneifio to Nant Peris. Good vid mate. Enjoyed that :)
Great video and location Paul. Heading up there this weekend all being well. Never been to Idwal or seen the Darwin rock so looking forward to it. ATB Andy
Really enjoyed both videos. Hope you do dome more wildcamping ones, you have a good way of talking to the camera. Nice background music too. I have just started a channel here and have a few vids made in Ogwen that I think you might like. Diolch i ti.
you probably dont care but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can watch all the latest movies on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my brother recently :)
Great Video Paul! Been up snowdon a couple of times and always wanted to camp there, I’ve always taken the Llanberis path, is it the same path you’ve taken here as it’s a beautiful spot :)
Thanks, there is plenty of free parking near by, just along from the Ogwen Cottage, you will see some layby areas, just park there....hope you have a great time.
Gorgeous evening Paul. The sound is something else in that stillness. I must say you were getting some great shots there. A real promotion of the spot. May I ask (I think again) what camera you were hand holding? The quality is amazing. I've just sent back the Canon S120 and am still shopping. Good ending. I could sense your relief up there. ATB Mark.
+WyeExplorer Thanks Mark....yes the camera was a Sony HDR CX240E, a good canon camera I have is the 255HS, excellent quality and stereo mics on it.. If you look at my London video, it was all filmed on that canon....if it helps.
Hi Paul, so it was a camcorder. Better it seems in a lot of instances. I see the Canon but lost faith in them. Just trying out a Panasonic TZ70 at present. Like you hope to get good results every time. No conclusion yet to the Panasonic. Enjoyed very much your video mind...ATB Mark.

+Wales85 Exactly....no better than our home here.

It takes about 20mins (for me anyway)....not that far, and free parking along the road too by Llyn Ogwen.
Its great when theres no breeze...but the down side..the bloody midgies go nuts. I hate them aswell....
