- OUR CHARMING & TRADITIONAL ENGLISH HOLIDAY COTTAGE ON THE CASTLE HOWARD ESTATE IN YORKSHIRE// Hello lovely people, Do you want to romanticise your life? Then we have something for you. We are so excited to be sharing our beautiful holiday cottage with you today! It's set on the Castle Howard Estate in Yorkshire. The cottage is from the 18th century and really dreamy. It's around the corner from Castle Howard and very close to York and the coast. We loved every second there. Not to forget that this is also the place where Bridgerton was filmed. What a perfect cottage, elegant yet cozy. Beautiful and peaceful countryside. You have a talent for finding just the right spot for a getaway. I am getting used to Joerg's sense of humor and have learned to listen closely to catch his quips. He makes me laugh! I get a kick out of the way he sometimes catches Kirsten by surprise and she giggles.
As the weather turns cold and dark there is nothing better than a cozy accommodation. And in Yorkshire?! Can’t get better. 🤩🍁❤️

Yorkshire is where my father's ancestors lived. I so enjoy your vlogs for many reasons, but it occurred to me one reason is being with a married couple. I do miss my husband and traveling companion.
The cottage is sooo pretty. This is what I watch your channel for; to see the English countryside, English decor... everything in that cottage is just sparkling. That place looks like heaven.

I live in a village a couple of villages over from the estate and I drive past the houses often, as I walk my dog on the grounds at Castle Howard, usually ending up in the farm shop for something or other. It was lovely to have a tour of one of the properties.

What a beautiful English countryside trip and complete with a rainbow. Your cottage is just charming and looks to be so cozy and warm with the fire aglow. Sightseeing in the fresh air, long walks steeped in history, trip to the Farm Store and even the rain completes the picture of a great trip. I love living in a house with a pantry. I haven't always had one but when I do I love them . And like you I love China and before I had to move into my little apartment I add many different sets of China and I just couldn't seem to stop buying them. I also collected depression glass tea cups and saucers for when I had my group of ladies over

The cottage is fabulous. I would love to live in a house like that! I’m not sure I would feel comfortable taking my dogs there, I think I would worry in case they accidentally damaged something. It’s Iovely seeing you both out and about again. Thanks for sharing.
Oh yes, it's such a wonderful cottage in a lovely village and setting. I think I know what you mean regarding dogs, a very small one might be fine.
Orange sauce marries very well with poultry. I am not a big fan of duck, it is quite rich for me. But I would often make an orange sauce with orange juice and zest if I had a fresh orange. If not, orange juice, rosemary, a light savory sauce or butter and whatever else struck my fancy and would cook a chicken, turkey breast or Cornish hens in the sauce in the oven and would baste the bird with the sauce a few times and then thicken it a bit as a gravy. The carrots would bake very well with the chicken and sauce.

I've only been to Castle Howard once I'm ashamed to say, as I live in Yorkshire, but it's always by-passed on our way to the coast. Hope you're planning a visit to show us, you associate it with Bridgerton but to me it will always be Brideshead Revisited. Lovely cottage by the way 😁👍
Oh we actually planned to go to Whitby the day we went for the longer walk but sadly the weather there was even worse so we have to do it some other time.

I’m from Canada and I have ALWAYS wanted to live in a traditional English cottage or an old Victorian home… I LOVE old buildings, they have so much character.
Homes like these do exist in parts of Canada but completely unaffordable unless you’re a multi-millionaire. Even just to rent for a weekend is thousands of dollars (depending on the location/size).
So I live vicariously through TH-cam channels such as these….
But your channel is special because you don’t talk too much, just enough…and your voice is so calming, the camera movement is just right… 😊
You are so kind, thank you so much! We appreciate so much that you enjoy our channel (I know, renting beautiful holiday cottages here is very pricey here too I'm afraid. Not to mention buying. Small cottages in certain areas are easily between 700.000 and 1 million British pounds.

Don't know if you noticed, I know I didn't when I viewed this video the 1st time; but everything is comfy in that Yorkshire country cottage, but also everything is squared off exactly! Fireplace is perfectly square, mirror above it is squarish, dish cupboard is square, tv is square, even the chairs are square even the lampshade is square! Funny how that worked out isn't it?
I am always amazed at the beautiful accoutrements that are displayed in Britain's rental properties. It's quite wonderful that people do not have to be concerned with vandalism or theft.

Kirsten & Joerg, the cottage is beautiful so much history to enjoy. The ambiance of the area is welcoming, I would not mine walking miles. The farm store is a great concept I wish we had that here. We do have farmers markets, however they tend to spring up in more upper class areas. Everything here is propelled by the affluence of the areas. It is such a shame we all deserve the same things.
