I think we've all been there at some point, you either get away with it or you don't. Looks like one of those moments when you realise you're coming in too hot and you have to overcome your instincts, let go of the brake, tip it in and hope. Keep your eyes on that vanishing point. Easy to say from my sofa I know. Glad you're ok 👍
I've done a couple of track days at Cadwell Park. Each time the instructors in the safety briefing drummed it into us that whatever bike you're on, Vale (or others) could go round so much faster than you. It's not the bike, it's you that is the weak link. If in doubt, look at where you need to be (apex, exit) and try to make the corner (unless you've not braked at all). 9/10 you'll be ok and make the corner. Obvs in the moment you have to overcome the 'fight or flight' reflex, easy to say, harder to do. I just made sure I had safe braking and turn in points for each corner, and stuck to those until I felt comfortable moving them forward a bit at a time. Glad the rider is ok, everything else can be replaced. 👍
@Worther12 I agree but this works more as advice for a fast street rider that target fixates. His pace was already extremely high,he was basically backing it in already and he was too late on the brakes the bike was wiggling and the suspension was loaded on the front, turning in would’ve probably resulted in a high side.

There are a few comments questioning his grip on the right bar. To answer those, if you are having to hang on with your hands you are already out of control. That’s why the ride position on a sports bike is laid forward, you are almost stood up so your legs are doing the hard work. The bars are just controls, not for hanging on to.
Crashed in exactly the same place and circumstances as I did 5 years ago at cadwell! I was carrying too much speed down that straight and thought I wouldn't make it around the left bend.panic braked and laid it down before the bike and I cartwheeled up the grass bank. Luckily I only had bruising and friction burns, the bike wasn't so lucky lol😂
As i see it;::; @1:57 he brakes late for his speed and bike wanted to stay upright, not turn too easily, and driver wasn't ready for that and turn was failed at that point, imo.

I do occasionally look at my speedo. Coppice on my bike is around 100mph so the bike could have easily made it. However as you say, it's best to tape it up.
I once hit a false neutral at the end of the straight downshifting going into coppice , ended up taking the track that takes you to the marshals box at Mansfield, yeah that made my arse pucker 😅

A pity as you may have been able to ride that out & got it stopped before Charlie's on the other side of the hill. Main thing is you're OK. Can fix Bikes easier than Humans.
That’s more than enough for Cadwell and I would put money on it that most people (excluding pro riders) would be quicker on a 600, 636 or 675 around here. ‘05 636 would be my choice here. Best engine (and track chassis) I’ve ever ridden.

The bike’s performance out ways the riders skill level.
Not sure if I agree. This rider is better than 99% of the riders on road and probably 90% on track. Shit happens and sometimes you crash.
Moto gp riders crash all the time. No lack of talent. Tires, wind, temp, it happens. Not on the street endangering others.
The saddest part of this is where the fan kicks in just after the crash, like the bike is doing it's last duty for the rider, before it died 😞
