That’s why Nirvana destroyed the virtuous bands of their time! This is Rock n' roll in the most literal and essential sense! Heavy, strong, simple and raw!
Kurt continually referred to the band as a punk band. In Come as You Are, Kurt said, "Looking back on the production of Nevermind, I'm embarrassed by it now. It's closer to a Mötley Crüe record than it is a punk rock record". Why would he say that if he was in a grunge band trying to make a grunge album? Also, there is famous quote from Kurt, something like, "Punk is musical freedom. It’s saying, doing and playing what you want. In Webster’s terms, ‘nirvana’ means freedom from pain, suffering and the external world, and that’s pretty close to my definition of Punk Rock." Grunge as a genre was a marketing tool cooked up by a record label to make music from the Seattle scene more marketable. Does that sound remotely like something Cobain would've wanted to be associated with?
Ha I think the same way. I graduated HS in 1990 and was the prime age to take it all in but didn’t really enjoy the times. I was always mad and/or worried about school job or family. Didn’t really care for a lot of the music either. Don’t know why I was upset , guess I’m older mellower now. Also a big 90s music fan now. Go figure
So take it as a lesson an enjoy the now's because tomorrow it will be the then's. But when I think of it, 90s pop culture was all about not caring so it makes sense to not have embraced it. Congratulate yourself!
Same here. I remember watching this when it aired though, the same month I turned 10. Everything they played that was ever on MTV I would record on VHS tape. That’s as close as I ever got to the real show. I’m just glad to be able to watch it all on here again.
it is really sad that someone so talented, unique and creative couldn't help himself more. Nirvana were a great band. all their songs are so good. Kurt Cobain was different, for sure. he had something special about him. he was able to connect with people through his art. he was a tortured artist. but there is ultimately nothing glamorous or cool about his downfall or his death. it is hard to watch Nirvana videos and not feel bad for Kurt. yes, a lot of problems were his choice. but he was still an amazing musician with a unique way of thinking
apart from appreciating one of the best live performances of the song .... someone notices the intensity of the beat of the drums with which dave grohl hits with the chorus she said shae said comes out ..... it is absolutely incredible
To the comments below. There are still bands that have energy like this. Going to a hardcore show, you'll find some of the best energy between the band and then crowd. The band plays their heart out, and the crowd is just having so much fun. I'm 28, so I'm telling you, I've seen bands with great energy and music, even if it involves screaming which I know alit of ppl don't like, but the energy is amazing

Punk*
It is grunge
Kurt continually referred to the band as a punk band. In Come as You Are, Kurt said, "Looking back on the production of Nevermind, I'm embarrassed by it now. It's closer to a Mötley Crüe record than it is a punk rock record". Why would he say that if he was in a grunge band trying to make a grunge album? Also, there is famous quote from Kurt, something like, "Punk is musical freedom. It’s saying, doing and playing what you want. In Webster’s terms, ‘nirvana’ means freedom from pain, suffering and the external world, and that’s pretty close to my definition of Punk Rock."
Grunge as a genre was a marketing tool cooked up by a record label to make music from the Seattle scene more marketable. Does that sound remotely like something Cobain would've wanted to be associated with?

Muhd Shuhairi PUNK
Dave Grohl was the best drummer of that era
Paulvon128 Sean Kinney was pretty good.
Sorry but you forgot about Jimmy Chamberlin.
Com certeza!!!🤘🏼💀
I preffer lars at this era, but Grohl just sounded so fuckin good
Mac McNeilly says Hi.
I dont know why, I always adore the way Pat Smear's style of playing his guitar.
Its really unique.
Man the raw energy is just absolutely awesome
I don’t care who you are or what you say.
IT DOESN’T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS. 🤘🏽
Dave is a monster on the drums. The way he just destroyed that first cymbal hit bro...
This is the number one all time prophetic Rock and roll song ever!
Damn straight!
Una delle mie canzoni preferite, energia pura. I love you Kurt ❤
Look at the crowd, having a blast. Wow, it's great to be there, live.
Not using their cellphones. 😂
If I knew the '90's we're gonna end up being "The '90's" I would taken my time and soaked it all in a little longer....
Ha
I think the same way.
Yup i hear ya i was a teenaget during the grunge phase and i soaked it the hell up,went by way too fast.
VerticalMARS1 Teenage angst has paid off well...😉📸
No shit man
True guitarist, singer, and songwriter- MAY YOUR MUSIC LIVE LONG AND PROSPER🖖
I’m so jealous of all those people that got to see Nirvana live. I was too young at the time but loved them all the same ❤
Same here. I remember watching this when it aired though, the same month I turned 10. Everything they played that was ever on MTV I would record on VHS tape. That’s as close as I ever got to the real show. I’m just glad to be able to watch it all on here again.
A melhor banda de rock do mundo!!!
My mom: why do you spend so much time in the bathroom?
Me: 00:01
©atzinbxy
don't do that !!!
@@akabara1237 Why can't i play some Nirvana songs in the bathroom? ;)
Mom already knew it, because of your dad....
im in the bathroom listing to this right now lmao
@@MedicBroh Actually I came here to comment the same, lol ...
it is really sad that someone so talented, unique and creative couldn't help himself more.
The energy of this song is the best
My favorite song off of Nevermind, by far. To hear these four play it live gives me such a JOLT.
Nirvana el mejor grupo de Rock !!! 🇲🇽🇺🇸💀
no es rock, es Grunge
@@NeneSarcoma si es Rock aunque sea grunge , el grunge es una rama del rock .
That second guitarist, I’m blanking his name but he really gave kurt the freedom to rock it out
It doesn't get any better than this.
My favorite performance of all time
top 3 for sure
I would give anything to go back in time and see hendrix live....
apart from appreciating one of the best live performances of the song .... someone notices the intensity of the beat of the drums with which dave grohl hits with the chorus she said shae said comes out ..... it is absolutely incredible

Yeah, screaming sucks.
